the best thing is not to sleep afterwards, you have to get your masters in public health (MPH), even if u still want to come back for medicine.... Cos after my nysc, once i become a resident in community medicine, na MPH be the next ooo.....

Alot of international organizations need guyz in community medicine, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, etc....

They form spores, thats what makes them survive in air....

dominique: The baacteria can't thrive and multiply under aerobic conditions (such as scratches and surface wounds likeop). Won't harm to get a tetanus toxoid tho.

remember, all the bacterium needs is to get to a wound, deep or scratch, and travel through the peripheral nerves through regional axonal flow, releasing its toxin and causing spasms........

tetanus is a spore forming anaerobic organism, its spores can live for years, even decades.... There is a high risk if the cut, scratch or bite was deep.....

Strokes are usualy cured within the 1st 24hrs if prompt action is taken... But after 24hrs, prognosis reduces....

Well, I don't know how your doctor is managing your dad, but I may advice physiotherapy after recovery......

So each day, I live my life to acquire this supreme divinity. I pray not to be found wanting. Not to be caught without a good measure of "stuff". And not to disappoint myself and the society. It is clearly the surival of the fittest.
Whilst we strive to survive with our enormous efforts (which the system consistently considers fragile and frail), we have a hope that one day , life would never be the same again. We see beyond the prestige and the hallowedness of being in med school. We never worry about people's assessment of our abilities. What we are more concerned with is that fact that never shall this system find us wanting. Not now . Not ever.

As medical students, we are trained to overcoe many obstacles, trials and tribulations, knowing that God is on our side.

The fact that the system has failed doesn't mean we should fail with it, however, we should still put in our best and strive hard to build ourselves to be useful, meaningful and humble members of the society.

Its not just about the stuff, the technique and skills are also important, as a doctor won't prescribe a textbook but a pill.....
