Well, at least this idea of paying off the discount, is a ray of hope.

What I will advice going forward is for people to look for hospitals with cheaper total bill. For example my last birth in LA, total itemized bill was 13k: 10 for me, 3k for baby...vaginal delivery. The self pay price was 3k. Having to pay back 10k looks more feasible than 21k.

The greatest tragedy that happened to us is this present govt, else as at early 2015, dollar was still 165...it would not be an issue at all if I was looking at 1,650,000.

However, i agree with Omobendel. For those with larger discounts, getting it to 12k and backing it up with lots of prayers (tongue out to the atheists) should do the trick.

Finally, it is time to commence research again...this is not time for everybody to flock to one hospital cos I believe if we can see a full bill of 13k, there should also be a 10k full bill somewhere in America.

For starters, that hospital that advertises regularly on this page...i don't know but they seem to me like people that will have that kind of total bill.

Otokini I sympathise with you, imagine not being asked anything. Could ur recent Canada application have anything to do with it?

Lolz! That's actually a lot of difference to offset though. If the opportunity is there to make amends by way of more payment, I'd think getting it up to some 12-15k may make sense. Let's not forget that the previous 8-10k or less was out of pocket.... It's a long thing with the US visa ish for those that birthed previously in the US, so methinks. There isn't even any clearcut blueprint from the embassy on this. One would go pay another 2-5M Nigeria Naira and maybe get turned down thereafter, that'd be crazy you know.
Exactly my thoughts. No clear cut blue print
We can only use other peoples experience as a guideline to what the embassy wants. Like you said, anyone with discounts who paid less than 10k can pay more getting it up to 10k or 12k plus, then try their luck with the embassy. If it works, then we can know whatsup. But to now that paying about 21k difference doesmt make any sense, all in a bit to renew a visa. I know people who are well travelled across thw globe and have never been to america before. Its not a do or die affair

Good day house. I'd like to please clarify on this issue of discount. What I have on my hospital bill is 'self pay, no insurance system adjusted' . From $28,503 my bill was adjusted to $7,038 which I paid for C/S delivery in 2018. Is this the same as discount & if it is, does it mean I'll have to pay the adjusted value of $21,000+ before considering visa renewal? Kindly advise.
This is what me too I'm asking o. Would paying a part of it suffix?. Or would having a payment plan suffix.
Or better still, one would just sit àt home and go somewhere else till America decides to come back to their senses.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by lami88: 9:25am On Jan 14, 2020
Okay. So on this issue of paying back discount to renew visa, what if you pay a part of the discount and not all. Will the visa be granted. Anyone with such experience. Or anyone paying back the discount on a payment plan? And tried to renew and the visa granted. I mean we have people with discounts of 15k, 18k, 20k bla bla. Where will one start from in paying back that one.

One of the hospitals I got said I would make a down payment of 5k dolls..how legit is that pls?? Will they refund if you don’t happen to use their hospital?? Or unable to get a visa
They will refund you back. It even helps your visa appliaction if you show receipt that a down payment has been made as a prerequisite for the hospital uou intend to use. You see, canada embassy want to be sure you have made adequate preparation as regards the hospital and doctor you intend to use, that the hospital and doctor are expecting you upon arriavl, that you understand the cost of the charges involved in this services and you have adequate fund to cover it including emergencies. And you must also be able to show documentary evidence of this facts.

UPDATE:

Just received the decision email few days after getting the biometrics letter and the reason for denial is:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
Sincerely,
IRCC Nairobi.

Is there anyone that has received this and reapplied or replied and then got a positive decision?... Also, any proper explanation for travel history being that I just finished NYSC and yet to travel.
Want to know the next step to take.

Thanks.
Well, sorry about the denial. But, if you had shared your profile with us here before you applied, we would have advised you appropriately. Canada is very strict with ttavel travel history. That is one country that if you have never travelled out before, it would be very difficult to get their visa. I have not seen anyone without ttavel history get a canadian visa( i stand to be corrected though). You might have to chill for now and try other countries before reaaplying to canada again

Secondly, as for the ties, you did not mention the documents you submitted. Since you just finished nysc, are you working yet, are you married, do you have landed properties. What documets did you submit to establish your ties at home here. It will be difficult to advise appropriately without this info.
By and large, you have to work on this points raised before you can reapply. Why not look at other countries like schengen to try and boost your travel history

Good day to all the gurus on this thread working to help put us through and answer our questions. I just started this process and a friend of mine also wants to commence hers too. Now shes in a dilemma and I want to seek your opinion on her case.
She just started a thriving business here in Nigeria and it's really thriving for her. Her husband also just started a company with great prospects. However, she wants to apply for skilled worker program because she doesn't know what the future holds and she also doesn't want to wait incase this program is cancelled in the nearest future in order to avoid regrets. So the question is cam she apply for these skilled workers program and not live permanently in Canada. Can she be going in and out. We googled it and it days one has to have spent a total of 1000 days to be eligible for citizenship in a period of 5 years. But we dont know if its continuous period of 1000 days. Can someone with a pr status live in an out of Canada and still be eligible for citizenship. Thanks

A friend was at the embassy to get a B2 visa for birthing. This is their third missionary journey. This was their second attempt to get this visa.

At the first refusal he debated the low bills with the VO. Said he paid what he was billed. The VO then requested to see the kids birth certificate but they didn't go with it and they were denied.

When he talked about it I pointed out to him that the problem was that he used an American address instead of their Nigerian one in the birth certificates but he didnt take it serious.

At their second attempt, the VO repeated the same you are not qualified at this time...you can find the reason in this paper....However he didnt want to hear that line. cheesy. He asked her to tell them the real reason and she said the birth certificate carries a US address and hospitals use that to defraud the government etc.

After series of talks he then asked the VO if they were banned for life. Does this mean that they will never go to the US because of this? The VO said no. He then asked her when they will be eligible to go to the US since she said that they are not eligible now.

He further explained that the hospital didn't assist him to fill the birth documents. He went to the county and filled the forms. He insisted that the county clerk said the american address was okay.

The VO exited twice during the interview. She approved their visa when she returned the second time. grin
Well, this is one sweet story. Most vo wont be ready to listen or explain anything after they issue you that pink letter. This is what they call, taking it by force

[quote author=Vwne post=80593172]I have been following the thread for a while now and I wrote IELTS GT (MOD IDP) for the first time on July 6, 2019. Thankfully, the result came out as LRWS 9, 9, 7.5, 8.5

I would like to share some tips on the listening part. I understand it may not work for some but I think it helped me.

I used Cambridge books to prepare and increased the speed of audio playback (on exam day, the audio felt slower and I had more time to focus). It was difficult initially but I soon got used to listening to the audio, following the questions, and taking notes at the same time.

Before the narrator starts, I skim through the questions, underline key words and think of synonyms while predicting possible answers (or the format the answers could take). Sometimes, there are 'false start' answers; where the narrator corrects the answer while narrating

Congrats, please can you share the materials with me. Email is peackersay@yahoo.com

First, the documents have to be couriered, you can't fax them.
Your school should normally send the official copy of the transcript, while you will send your own student copy.
I'm our case with university of Ibadan, we collected the official transcript in a sealed envelope, and did the sending ourselves.

So both the student copy and official copy were sent together in one package, by us. Saved us the stress of having to pay for courier twice.

BE prepared, as IQAS takes looooooong!
Thank you very much.

Good day all, I have been reading this thread for a while now and I want to start my own application. I decided to use iqas for my evaluation as I am a lawyer and it will help increase my score as against wes. I just read the iqas website now and I am a bit confused . Will my school send the transcript to them directly. Or do I get the transcript from my school and add my other certificate to it so I can then forward it to iqas. Thanks as I await your response. Can do the documents be faxed to them or I have to courier it.

Please I would appreciate your responses gurus in the house

Hmmmm. Some times, i can understand why most people keep quite and don't share experiences here. It's because some people will just open their mouths and start spewing negativity which is really really sad.

Meanwhile it's amazing that no one has ever shared their story of being turned back at poe either US or Canada yet we are hearing they are being turned back daily. One can only wonder.

For those of us who keep screaming apply for medical visa even while you have US visas and are using Canada as backup, when it's your turn do so ehn. How many of you here can genuinely say you applied for medical visa especially those that USA has bounced for renewal?
Hypocrisy is a huge problem on this platform and where we should allow people learn and be honest or share experiences, they are shut down
.at the end of the day, everyone will do what they feel comfortable with regardless of what is being said.

USA bounced me at my renewal. I applied for medical Visa here, was denied at first and granted second time. I still believe that, regardless of whether you apply for medical Visa or not, if your application is not watertight , one will still be bounced.

Azzin! So easy and straightforward.

VO has said it on their threads that if you got the visa for visiting and all of a sudden you get pregnant the smart thing to do is reapply for another visa interview and come along with necessary documents relevant to the birthing trip. This sets the record straight and prevents future headaches but noooo, we like to cut corners and play smart then start crying foul when the sh.it hits the fan.

Anyways, what's my own sef, lemme come and be going. I am not CBP or VO, by the way, izit my money? lipsrsealed
What if you got your visa for visiting and used it for that purpose, in fact multiple times, and got pregnant almost a year later. Would you still need to reapply for another visa interview?

Jaypisces, make sure u send notification of intent to the embassy. A family friend who had travelled to the US severally before giving birth there, was called in for interview after she did dropbox and is now on a 5 year ban for not informing the embassy. U would also need copy of the email and the response from the embassy for POE, just in case. Also correspondence with Dr and proof of funds
I want to believe there's more to this story. Like you said the visa has been used severally in the past. I don't want to believe the embassy will place you on a ban because you have birth in the US. It's a diff case if you conceal or misrepresented facts at the time of interview.
