landis or what do you call yourself, with the way you reason, it must be a monkey that impregnant whoever born you. Did this sanction against Mugabe affected the fertile land of Zimbabwe from producing food? Answer me, you son of a goat!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have not insulted anyone or you on this post.

I suggest you refrain from such.

That said:

One idiot here even said that he was right to throw out the white farmers but fail to tell us why Mandela/ANC in their own wisdom did not follow the same part in South Africa?
Thats the whole point: WEST have to punish Mugabe hard so as to serve as lesson to other who want to redistribute stolen lands.
Thats why Mbeki has never and will neve public condem Mugabe. They know what it means to have the best part of your lands in hands of outsiders.

Land reform was one of the main promises made by the African National Congress (ANC) when it came to power in South Africa in 1994. It has proved a complex and slow-moving process, and nearly a decade after the first democratic elections, the government has found itself defending its record on delivery.
14yrs later, they can't do nothing when they see what WEST is doing with Mugabe.

Enough SAID.

@landis, why not go through the list of countries in the middle east and asia and see for yourself. Not all are dependent the way mugabe gives excuse for
You give the country. I dont know any.

Let me give you an example in the UK here where black people love to blame their underachievement on whites. Despite the fact that Indians and Chinese originating people that can easily sit back and give excuses as well go out and achieve.
what achievement? Those guys are FRAUD with 1000 all having same name: PATEL

When a Library is built in a black neighbourhood in the UK, go there and see how many blacks actually use it
This is unfounded. It is opportunity you will get that matters.

A study was done in same UK:

two people apply for same JOB(same CV) only name was different.

They said no to that with AFRICAN name while the other got job interview.
spare us your UK.

We need too acknowledged the world we leave in and fashion our own ways of dealing with these challenges.

To remove Mugabe, SANCTION is not the way out. It only destroy the people.

Again, with their divide and rule, they have turned ZIM against each other like in US: house slave and farm slave.

I expect MDC to work with ZANU and vice-versa. Zim belong to both of them and both cannot say they love Zim better than the other.

Anywho, I do know that China has gained so much from this war as well, so has India. Should we then conclude that China was in on the war as well? I mean China and India happen to be some of the first to get oil deals from this war.
you still dont see the Big Picture!!!

who are the Big Manufacturer in China?? US companies

who are the major consumers of China goods?? US people

The energy to drive china is the same that produce those goods.

Even Germany that pretends not be on-board provided the 'MAP for Sadam Bunkers' and their company making money in US.

It is all woven together. It is all same reason they asked OBJ pay $18billion and they will forget the rest of our debt.

I wish we could think like the WEST: Maximise benefit anywhere, everywehere.

Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe Won't Quit! by landis(m): 10:38am On Jun 23, 2008
It isn't about the starving people in Zimbabwe for you.
You missed the whole point.

Mugabe is not the one starving his people. It is because there is sanction.

Sanction aims to suffer the people so that they will stand-up against their leaders. Sanction aims to cause civil uprising.

Sanction is bully tactics from the WEST and this belong to the past if only AFRICAN leaders unite.

So BLAME that squarly on WEST.

If they care much about  Zim Poeple, then sanction is not way to go.

They need Mugabe out; there better ways to achieve this: It is actually very easy. to do.

WEST caused same prb in Iraqi; they needed Saddam out. Because of 1-man they destroyed the whole country.

what more proof do you need:
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said an election without Mr Tsvangirai would be "the biggest denial of democracy that Africa has known".

what did French said about June 12? They all started Business as usual with Abacha.

what arrant nonsense.
He left on his own. You think Mugabe should call him to contest. If he is not up to the task. He better run away.
---
This guy  Tsvangirai is not a leader. He should talk to Atiku to learn whats leadership all about.

"This is the 11th time that Tsvangirai has threatened to withdraw from the presidential run-off and on each occasion I have challenged him to put it in writing as required by the law," he said.

Mr Tsvangirai's announcement of withdrawal was to avoid "humiliation", he added.

"Tsvangirai went into the election thinking that it was a sprint and was not prepared for a marathon and wants to avoid defeat," he said.

"He spent his time globe-trotting and gallivanting in Europe and left MDC-T supporters without leadership."
He thinks because WEST support him, Mugabe + ZANU should just vacate the place for him. He must be a dumbass.

EloSela:
Most popular tourist destinations are visa-free for European and American nationals, who make up the majority of tourists to Africa.

Nigeria needs to improve greatly on her security for foreign nationals visiting the country and scrap the visa fee. I can't see anyone desperate enough to get in to Nigeria that they would go through the hassle of lining up for a visa in an unruly embassy and paying $100 or 40 pounds onto top of their package holiday price when they can go to many other African destinations visa free. grin
This is not the problem. You need to define what you want. Nigeria does not need mass tourist or sex tourist like in Phuket.

Bostwana/Maledives etc is damn expensive. They look for HIGH-END tourists not some hungry backpackers.

That said. Nigeria should rather focus on encouraging and developing internal tourism.

We should travel more locally for tourism and these depends on good infrastructure + Security.

MDC pull-out: Zimbabwe reacts

MDC has pulled out of the elections. All you Zanu PF propagandists! una don win OH!
Well there goes MDC. I guess the WEST are tired of this weak guy. They will soon change gear.

If Mugabe had given up in the Bush war against Ian Smith, there would not have been Zimbabwe now.

If Atiku had given up on 2007 election, OBJ will still be there now as President.

If Odinga has given up in Kenya, Kibaki will still be the ONLY guy in Kenya.

MDC has shown they lacked the energy, the capability to lead Zim.

Well done Mugabe, but now let him get a younger successor from ZANU who is more progressive.

Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe Won't Quit! by landis(m): 6:40pm On Jun 20, 2008
This is very simple.  Forget about Mugabe for a moment and answer this question:

let US/UK lift the sanctions and see if Zimbabwe would turn around within 6months.

I work in place where we are not allowed to do business with Zim. It is in our list. So get your fact write.

Note this down:
Once MDC is elected:

1. sanction would be lifted
2. white farmers would be given back lands
3. aid + machines will pour-in

The west we say MDC is 'good guy' till 20yrs down the road when there is problem between them and we start all over again.

I really wonder why people cannot see whole picture:

To kill/finish a dog; YOU SIMPLY GIVE IT  A BAD NAME.

@landis just some simple questions for you, if the people of Zimbabwe decide to vote for the opposition and they decide they don't want Zanu PF anymore, shouldn't there vote count even if it is for what you call "western stooges"?
MDC/UK/US used the 'aid agencies' to distribute food which is why MDC won. Go get your facts.

Sadly both Mugabe + WEST have turned Zim people to pawn in the chess game.

I don't know where you got the idea that Mugabe represents the Black Race. But it's a crazy assumption.

zimbabwe was once the food basket of eastern africa. Now they cannot even feed themselves.
yeah. same old story. You should always look at the big picture.

who was behind the food basket: whites

who support the whites to be food basket producer: WEST.

if same WEST give same support they give to their brothers to BLACKS when they took over. It will still be success story.

But I see good in this:

If ANY african country cannot feed its people. Let them Die!

When the UK told Ghandi to allow them bring cloths for India. He replied if India cannot cloth its people, let us all Go NAKED.

Today, same India just bought LandRover.

I hope the above video adds a little to your understanding of the US motivation for invading Iraq.

Earlier, you said something like US could not sacrifice so many lives just for oil. My question to you is whose lives, the life of Iraqis, or the life of 4100 US soldiers?

For the US soldiers, please don't forget that these are 'volunteer' army made of Nigerian, Mexican, Asian immigrants who volunteered as a way of getting something from the US government--- I mean scholarship for college, citizenship, loan forgiveness, etc. Then there are the usual African Americans, and economically disadvantaged whites(like Lindy England of Abu Gharib fame).

When you show me a child of Bush, Cheney, or Rumsfeld counted as one of the 4100 killed, or even serving anywhere near the front line, then I will tell you that the dead American soldiers matters.
Naijaking1,
well said.

I saw an EU documentary. The US Army delibrately go to poor towns and entice those 'poor boys' to join the army.

Oh sorry were you there to personally see the number of people Abacha killed?

People get real. Mugabe removed white farmers since then what the hell has he been doing with the landhuh Why are people starving? Why is everythin so expensive? You do know their rate of inflation hit 17,000% at one stage. They had to produce a 1billion dollar note. What kind of rubbish is this. You guys need to get a grip and stop crying about the west and look at what your own people are doing to each other!

How sad for blacks to look back and feel it was better under white rule! Disgusting
Yes, Mugabe remove the white farmers but nothing wrong in that but if the WEST wanted him to succeed, they would have supported him to get his people off the ground.

Same WEST supported 'the same white farmers' because they love their own more than BLACKs.

They are also doing this to serve as lesson to other countries in Southern Africa who wanted better land retruned to their own people: South Africa, Nambia etc

until africans can wake-up to this reality.

Abacha killed max 20people. Hell Broke loose because he chased away BA, he never gives a damn about UK/US.

OBJ wiped out ODI-Village nothing happened because $30bill is deposited as foreign reservee with UK.

So long you doin their bidding, they part you on the back and our people cannot see beyond this.

So long you dont do their bidding, they label you and African who cant read between the line accept such.

Mbeki knew this; thats why he is threading carefully.

Point:
Mugabe is old and over stay his welcome. We dont need CNN/US/UK to tell us this.

But the process to ease him out must not bring suffering to his people.

They need to encourage him to leave not attack(he will attack back) him to leave.

End of the day; IT IS BLACK FACES SUFFERING.

Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe Won't Quit! by landis(m): 10:26am On Jun 20, 2008
We have seen all these before: divide and rule tactics.

It was same in Congo with Mobutu, It was same in Angola. It was same with Abacha.

IBB was clever enough; Thatcher actually asked IBB to continue since they benefit from his govt.

It is for Africans to understand and get things right.

The moment UK/US supporting MDC, they created the present Political problem

Naturally, anyone pushed to the wall will fight back.

Way Forward:

UK/US plus CNN should withdraw their hands: they should help the people in DAFUR.

AU should take lead.

Mugabe should be encouraged to look for successor in ZANU PF

Conclusion:
We all want Mugabe out without less human suffering.

But US/UK ready to sacrifice 'Zim people' because of Mugabe. They did that in Iragi.
