What do you guys expect?

The real question is this: How much do you need to contest for house?

As long as it cost so much, people will go there to make return on the money.

All of you would do same; you are not there to be Baba Xmass
grin cheesy grin

Until we can phase out politics of money, people in such position would have to recover their expenses.

I know people that put all they had to borrow money from Banks to contest. The first thing they do, is pay back loans to Banks or God father.

It is what you have, you get.

You cant plant yam and expect to see Banana.

PoliticsRe: 6 Geo Political Zones by landis(m): 7:19am On Jul 07, 2008
We are pretty sure we need about 60,000 MW which equates to 10,000MW per each geo political zone.
each 6region should be be free to handle their own project. South West surely need more power than say North East: it is almost empty there.

But power is not our problem. This is just effect of our problem like everything else.

Our key problem is our Politics. Given our nature, we should not be practice presidential system of government.

We should rather have 6-presidents from each of the six regions. We should practice collegiate system: equality of all region

1. Each of the 6 Presidents must agree on Policy otherwise its dead; no policy is detrimental to any region.
2. In any year, based on alphabetical order; there would be one-main president; to receive visitors and sign on behalf of others: no killing for elections
3. Each region can remove its President at any time if 1million signature collected
4. Presidential election would be done based on regions: so if you rig wrong guy, your region only surffer not whole of Nigeria.
5. After 6years, all the batches would go and never come back.
6. Each of the President must speak 1 language from all of the 6 regions.

I think the value of the pounds sterling is a major factor although some people do not want to accept this. I had this arguement with my cousins a while back and they told me to sharrrapp. That the tax deducted from individual earnings and the 'difficulty' in 'earning' the pounds kind of rubbishes its high exchange value to the naira.
with high tax rate of about 38% for those at high-end income, there could be nothing left end of the month.

The key reasons why it remains popular is because of 'colonial ties' + possibilities of 'fast-deal'

But if you earn N400,000 per month in Nigeria, then it's better than £2500 per month in UK

1. Mont PaNas

3. SacreHearts
4. Eifel Tower if not too many people; and you see the senegalese selling toys all around

also go to the africa market, and you will be happy that 'Tejuosho Mrkt' is much better.

Paris is also on the edge; not huge difference compare to Lagos but its romantic in the night.

Guys, we are simply not serious: sample

why cant we have standard world-class road from Lagos to Onitsha?

Onitsha Bridge was built in 60s, it has never been maintained or serviced.

I would not be surprised if it crashes and kill thousands.

Other amendments in the rule among other things include: "Private persons now have the power to arrest persons suspected to have committed offences in their presence including those who damage public property;
This sounds good. You can arrest anybody who you found commiting offence.

If well practice, this can eliminate 10% of all crimes; since people generally saw the offenders but failed to do anything.

Also Police can only arrest suspect nothing any relations anymore:

Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Ade Alabi yesterday said that it was now an offense under new Lagos State Criminal Procedure Rules for the police to arrest anybody else in lieu of a suspect.

Justice Alabi while briefing the press in Lagos on the amendment of the Administration of Criminal Justice Procedure Law of Lagos State, listed the category of people to include; wife, husband, son, brother, sister, co-worker or even neighbours for an offence committed by another person

I shouted back: NO, NO NO. No Americana

Nigeria, Nigeriana. Nigerian. Africa.

The shop owner said Okocha? I said yes. Nigeriana. He talked to them.

Foreign AffairsWould You Rather Live In Zimbabwe? by landis(op): 9:49am On Jul 02, 2008
Dare devil armed robbers yesterday in Abuja sent commuters and passers by scampering for dear live after they opened fire on their victims and shot into the air taking charge of the intersection between Muhammadu Buhari and Ahmadu Bello Way in Garki Area 11 just a street away from the headquarters of the Abuja Police Command and a short distance from Defence Headquarters on either side of the junction.
An eye witness account said the robbers numbering about six trailed their victims in two separate cars along the ever busy road before overtaking the Land Cruiser jeep with registration number Abuja AT 124 RSH at about 10.15am.
According to the witness, the robber first deliberately rammed into the victims' vehicle forcing it to a halt and thereby proceeded to drag one of the three occupants out and shot him in the leg.
He described the robbers as young men probably in their late 20s or early 30s dressed in suits and Kaftan and operated boldly unchallenged despite the fact that the Abuja Police Command Headquarters was a shouting distance from the scene of crime.
"These robbers operated like in the movies. They wore suits and Kaftan. They didn't wear any masks. They just came like a bolt from the blue, they overtook the victims vehicle and started shooting in the air.
They scared everybody away including the Police guarding some banks nearby. We sort of took to our heels and watched the whole thing from a safe distance. They dragged the man in the backseat and shot him in the leg before they started carting away bags of Ghana-Must-Go. I say these robbers are young and look like students. They are just around my age", said the eye witness.
The spokesman of the Abuja Police Command Suptretendent Ahmed Musa confirmed the story and said investigations have commenced and expressed optimism that the hoodlums will be apprehended
seems Zimbabwe still better place than Nigeria.

Lagos-bound aircraft were yesterday directed to land in Port Harcourt due to power outage that incapacitated the radar and air traffic control at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

THISDAY Checks showed that the radar had been down since Monday.

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Capt Ado Sanusi, who spoke to THISDAY in a telephone interview confirmed the incident and explained that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) cut electricity supply to the agency's facilities at the airport.

A senior air traffic controller also told THISDAY that the radar was not active on Monday but noted that controllers were using procedural system to land aircraft at the Airport. According to an Air Traffic Controller, FAAN cut electricity supply to NAMA and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) had not supplied electricity to the airport since Monday, as the company said that it was providing service to other areas of Lagos .

The safety implication of the non-functioning of the radar system is that aircraft that do not have enough back-up fuel may not be able to go to Port Harcourt Airport for landing. Procedural system is manual and air traffic controllers use estimation to direct aircraft in the air; its imperfection may give rise to collision of aircraft.

But Sanusi told THISDAY that the agency considered closing the airspace in Lagos due to the power outage but the situation was saved when the agency secured a generating set that was able to power the radar, the control tower and the Area Control Centre (ACC).

Sanusi also explained that the reason why FAAN was unable to supply electricity to NAMA was due to the fact that the agency has bad electric cables.
"FAAN has refused to give us electricity. In fact, we are thinking of closing the airspace. I learnt that FAAN has problem with their electricity cables, but we have been able to put on a generating set which is able to carry our radar, the control tower and the Area Control Centre."

The Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr Harold Demuren, confirmed the report and said that NAMA had moved to resolve the problem by providing a generator
I guess it was 'Aviation OCCULT' that took power?
