Romance / Re: Is He A Gold Digger? by lanre80(m): 8:31pm On May 08, 2011
@ curvyGal
It’s very simple to test this chap.
Just put up some stories about financial mess of your folks and for now you need to survive on some meager amount that will be coming to you. Just make him know – that no more luxuries for now. Watch him for a while as the two both of you operate on the same level. That is the sacrifice.
My dear, by then you will know who your man really is.
But that is just to answer your question. My thought really is that, your man should not make it an integral part of him to always ask you money. I once found myself in the same situation with my woman before I got a job. You know what, I hardly take her money (cos I got ego). I had to resolve to teaching in a secondary school before I got a good job. Let him just get something to do cos women will always get pissed off doing the spending and moreover God has designed man to be in charge.
Cheers

Politics / Religion Sentiment Playing The Core Factor In Northwest Nigeria by lanre80(m): 11:41am On Apr 06, 2011
Last week, i traveled home to see my folks who live in the Capital of Kaduna State. What i saw was so scary, so i taught i share it with my fellow nairalanders.
For those who have not been to Kaduna before, it is important you know these basics. After the catastrophe (religious riot) of year 2000 which claimed several lives of Christians in Kaduna, the dock and settlement has changed. Basically, the Christians and Muslims now live isolated from themselves. We have northern part of Kaduna (predominantly Muslims), the southern part of Kaduna (predominantly Christians) and the centre which is called the main town (Still kind of mixed up). The settlement has been like because of the fear of unknown.
My folks live in the main town and do their business there. My folks manufacture yoghurt and people from different parts of the Capital come to buy in wholesales. But there are young boys and girls from mostly northern part of Kaduna who come and pick this yoghurt daily on credits and pay up after selling. This is what they do for a living.  Enough of all this Stories.

On Friday, when i got home, i decided to catch up with my mum at the yoghurt dispatch centre. While there, a young boy came in with his yoghurt dispatch bicycle at 11:00am. He said he has closed for the day, and my mum asked why, since the day was still young. But he answered, saying, he wants to go and buy his own knife and get ready for the election before proceeding to the mosque. My folk now asked him about his colleagues who are still busy going about there business, he answered my mum saying,
Mama ask them, they have all bought their own knife earlier. I now decided to interview this boy since i speak Hausa fluently and they communicate in Hausa.
I asked him why he needed a knife, he answered saying, they were told by their preachers nobody must vote Goodluck, all vote is for Buhari CPC. If anyone tries to vote for Goodluck, then such a person will face death and also Buhari has given go ahead to bring down Goodluck voters. He said they told them Goodluck is an enemy of Islam and cause of their suffering. They wish they could even kill him. After a while, another among the boys came in for more yoghurt.
I was so curios that i had to wait and interview him too, in his own case he was shy and did not talk much but i got similar information.
Also, the driver of the taxi i took from the airport was telling me that he is not going to vote because he was not registered in his locality (northern part of Kaduna). And i asked why he registered in another locality; he said they physically told him to leave the queue because he was Yoruba.

Meanwhile the utterances from Buhari (lynch Riggers) and Bakari wild wild north has not helped matters.
When the troubles starts, Malams and their Political cohorts will just be safe and quiet while the boys they have incited are looting, burning, and lynching the innocent southerners.
God will not allow this

@ bk.babe97y
I was talking about the ideology of the person of Buhari and you were talking out of context which means you didn't even comprehend what i've written. Talking about seeing other parts of world, i might have not seen much, but thank God i was oportune to do my masters in the UK ( which means, i know what you are talking about).
What i'm talking about is the ugly side of Buhari and to us who have lived up north, it is an issue. Even if Buhari can bring a change. I am telling you that something else is holding his legs backward. And that thing is religon. If you can look away, i bet you others won't look away.
I will give you another analogy why i said Buhari is just a sentimental person and that is his person.
CPC's logo carries what is called a kalam (This is a pen used for writing on islamic slate). And people come here and say and he is not carried away by religion.
Look, nigeria's president should not be sentimental (especially in terms of religion)

When i see Nigerians of Southern extraction supports Buhari, I am always overwhelmed by their deep sense of patriotism. But it is unfortunate that majority of Nothern Nigerians (precisely of Hausa-Fulani extraction) are not matured to this level. You can only see what i'm talking about if you had been opportune to live a stretch of time with the Hausa-Fulani's. For me, i was born and lived there all my life (i attended primary, secondary and university Education there)until Career carried me to the South. In fact, i can speak hausa better than my language.

Though the failure of PDP government cannot be over-emphasised which NEGATES MY VOTING FOR PDP. Yet I WILL NOT VOTE FOR BUHARI.
REASON: Hausa-Fulani plays Politics, Religion and Tribalism Concurrently. And this is also same with the very educated ones with few exceptions (which can't b Buhari).
I am not trying to EXONERATE THE SOUTHERNERS. I have spent two years in the South-east, one year in South-south and two and a half yrs in south-west. To cap it up, all i can say is that we all have our lapses or should i say bad side. But common to all the geo-political zone is politics and tribalism.
Nevertheless, for Hausas religion is an integral part of politics.

Don't get me wrong, Hausa-fulani's are good people and i like so many things (but for Politics and religion ideology) about them as compared to my southern brothers.

Putting all these into cognizance, with Buhari Sentimental statement about Muslims voting for Muslims in 2003. I tell you that, BUHARI MEANT IT WHEN HE MAID THAT STATEMENT. Going by my experience with Hausa-Fulanis, That is his kind of person. Though there are still Hausa-Fulanis with exceptions (but few). This is called sentiment and sentiment hardly change.

If you have forgotten that statement down south, Southerners and Christians up north have not forgotten(Cos religion discussion is hyper-sensitive in the north) . And i bet you, they will never vote Buhari, atleast majority if not all of them.
Romance / Re: Mobo 444 Caught Live {no Offiennce} with pics by lanre80(m): 8:23pm On Oct 18, 2010
I see no big deal in a man backing his baby if  he does have the time, but just the person in question(MOBO). I have seen my uncle who is a naval officer back his babies. I have grown up to see my father of  blessed memory bath me and my siblings while my mum is doing the cooking. I use to back our last borne (she is now a final yr student in university) when my mum and dad is away to work. And we even had a house help then, but she wouldn't allow the girl to carry her. And it has never made me less of a man. Infact anytime that my younger sister is around from school, i'm always very happy cos she makes sure i'm okey. I mean taking care of big brother.
