I am really surprised, infact over-surprised that people are actually contributing to this post.

Immediately I opened the thread and I read the post, I said to myself, this one is not okay rara at all.

But 'was surprised when I saw people exchanging words with the guy.

It's not a matter of whether Okonjo is a liar or not a liar, whether she is good or bad. The matter is that the meaningless, disjointed, irrational, illiterate-lettered writing of the poster portrays that of someone WHO HAS A MENTAL PROBLEM. I mean seriously, don't you guys think so?

That's why I'm surprised that Nairalanders are trading words with someone who definitely is suffering from mental illness. I mean his ranting is like someone who is suffering an attack of epilepsy. Forget it; Bobo yen o ti a wa alright rara.

That is what fear too. We've passed through the University too. We know what obtains most of the time.

If the three guys involved (poster, friend and sister) were much older and matured, it wouldn't have been an issue.

I'm not a prophet, but at you guys' age, most times than not, the friend just wants to catch fun with the sister. He properly observes the sister likes him and wants to take advantage of proximity. It's easier to start something that will lead to something, for instance, with a neighbour or a colleague at work. Less stressful, no need for too much toasting, outings or dates, or need to define the relationship; just get closer to her and anything can happen.
RomanceRe: My Best Friend Spends Hours With My Sister by lanrefront1(m): 4:43am On Aug 16, 2012
So many small boy here saying silly stuff.

If you and your friend were much older, like above 26...27 and you've finished school, I would have said just talk to your sister and tell her to look well before she leaps.

Your friend at the age I'm talking about will be matured enough to know that this isn't just any girl, but his friend's sister. He would be sure of his intentions before he even starts anything.

But you are in 300 level; students in University are very young nowadays, so will put you guys age between 19 to 22; which makes your sister even younger. I know students, at this stage, you guys just wanna have fun; like prove your manhood by attempting to have several girls.

Sure your sister will somehow do something with a guy soon enough, but do you think you will be comfortable with that person being your best friend? You guys properly roll together, and at your age, in school, no way you guys won't be gisting about girls and your adventures and escapades. The situation (things) can get really murky and akward. I'm pretty sure neither you nor your friend has any plans of settling down soon.

My advice is to talk to your friend, tell him why he should let your sister be at least for now and get some other girl, because it could ruin your friendship. These things have happened before. Also implore your sister politely that it will be better for now, for both of you, if her boyfriend not be your close friend.

But then one cap dosen't fit all. You have not told us what kind of person your friend is. What is his character. Is he a one-woman's man or the opposite. Then other traits also come in. I guess you know best the answers to these questions.

Also, since you guys are still young and only test-running for now, do you think you can still be a close friend with your friend after he becomes your sister's ex-boyfriend? Will he still be able to freely come to your his then?

How did they happen to be there right at the very moment before the man died to take his picture??!!

Don't you find it all strange?

Huhhuh huh huh

THANK YOU. GOD BLESS U. ALL these are LIES. Those that gave evidences of pictures and videos all LIED. They simply did it to cover the evil the woman did. God will surely PUNISH the OFFENDER no matter the amount of conspiracy and cover-up.
Are you on drugs? Or how else do we explain this. So you honestly think the money or connections of a middle-level Banker will overshadow that of Fashola, the sitting Governor of Lagos, who no doubt has vested interest in the matter?

Please answer the question and don't just run off.
FamilyRe: Where Did Our Daughters Learn To Be Materialistic? by lanrefront1(m): 9:08am On Aug 15, 2012
The bad economy visited on us by our corrupt and evil leaders have definitely contributed to this phenomenon immensely.

It jumped-start it.

But after, other very powerful factors came in. Nollywood like someone has said has really done of damage to our young girls over the last 10 years. Then the music industry. Almost every song is about having a lot of money, and girls flocking around you because of the money, and earning people's deep respect and admiration because of the money; even their love songs are about money-love: that is if you love me I will spoil you with money.

Imagine teenage girls singing and dancing to P-Square's song: " you must chop my money, chop my money, chop my money o, because I get am plenty.....

Yet when you listen to lyrics of the song and watch the video, you see that it's talking about love from a respectable woman.

So when teenage girls listen to these type of songs 90 percent of the time all their teenage life, what kind of young women do you think they will become.

The same goes for our teenage boys too. They only have respect for their elders, except the ones with money. They look down older than them who don't have money. They respond non-challantly to people they think are poor and are exited to run errands and gist with a bros loaded and sophisticated.

thompsons: The usual trend of towing by Lastma is that they will snap the pix of the about to be towed vehicle. This pix must have been taken by an official because as you can see that a towing vehicle is just by the side of the photo taker. This has gotten out of one of the good officials who wanted justice to prevail. Also judging from the pix,if it were to be an ordinary bystander the deceased must have seen the person or the other officials.
It would have meant something for LASTMA's image if one of their own had voluntarily given up the picture.

But from information, what happend is this: it is an established protocol that Lastma takes pictures of cars that have offended at the spot of the offence or cars that are about to be towed. The CID (Criminal Investigation Department) of PANTI that took over the case knows this and demanded that they produce those picture. As luck will have it, the deceased happened to be standing beside the woman's car.

I'm really Yinka Johnson will take this to court so as to give it more publicity and expose the evils in the agency.

Of a truth, everyone involved in the frame up ought to be sacked.

But instead you quoted just my the last two sentences from my entire comment. The last two sentences derive their meaning or what it's trying to imply from the rest. First she's not James Bond and neither is she insane.

It's either you are slow or mischievous. But I believe it's the second option.

I don't have a problem; it obvious you are the one with the problem. Why do you wish so much for her to be guilty and slammed in jail even when its confirmed the police has declared her innocent? Nigeria is really a banana republic if all it takes to acquit a suspect is a still photograph. The question that we should be asking is where was the woman arrested? Was it at the scene where this picture was taken or was it at the estate in Ikota. If she was arrested at the scene then it is obvious LASTMA made up an elaborate story. Why? I do not know.

If she was however arrested in her estate in Ikota, there is more to the story than meets the eye. Why would you leave the scene of an accident where a state employee was killed?

the Nigerian Police are..
Now if this were a civilized Nation, the
simple investigation technique would
have;
1. Checked the type marks on the
body of the victim and compare it to
that on the suspects SUV. .
Wrong, there is no way body marks will
be compared to the one on the vehicle,
the victim could die of shock, bleeding,
internal bleeding, broken vesels etc
Okija_juju:
2. Blood. If the woman ran him over,
then there would be blood evidence
on the vehicle.
Who says the victim bled to death?
When you car hit some, several reasons
apart form bleeding could result to
death.
Okija_juju:
3. Damages. The car would sustain
damages similar to those on the body
of the deceased. .
This your logic is making me laugh, we
are talking of car and a human being
not a car and a lorry.

4. Eyewitness Testimony: I'm sure that

Everything the guy has said his true. If a car ran over someone with enough force to kill, one of the above will be available. A car ran over someone? Why won't there be tyre marks on the cloth?

The guy is making sense. You on the other hand, you are just displaying English and stupidity. Just opposing for opposing sake.

On the first thread opened on the matter, you were one of the vocal crucifying the woman. In fact, you were actually talking as if you were there gangan, korokoro

Such a thing happened in Lagos and it was captued on camera and showed on Channels TV.
PoliticsRe: LASTMA Official's Death: Yinka Johnson (The Banker) Released by lanrefront1(m): 6:42pm On Aug 14, 2012
Sisi_Kill: Explanation offered so far

1) LASTMA took the pictures because it is Protocol. . .then isn't it silly of them to try to pin the murder on her? Didn't they think for a second that people will demand the pictures they took seeing as everyone one knows they must have taken pictures since it is protocol?

2) Random Person walking down the street took the picture. . .ya know because LASTMA stopping someone is such a rare occurrence in Lagos, it needed to be captured on video and picture for posterity's sake. You know what, no need for further analysis on this one. .. Just show us how many Random pictures you took today of things that don't concern you directly.

3) She took the Pictures herself - Yet she let them arrest her and throw her in jail with her baby. This is a banker (thank you journalists for constantly reminding us of that fact) not some Janey Go Lucky off the streets, so it is reasonable to to assume she has some connections to people who are some clout then yet she didn't reach out to anyone, to provide them with the videos and picture before things got out of hand.

Hmmm. . .I think amma hafta go with the Reporter slapping any ol pix on his article to beef up his story. Hey this is just me, you don't hafta believe the same thing I do, ya know.
Don't really know what your qualms is? This thing is in realm of possibilty.

If for instance she took the pictures herself, you think being a smart woman she'll just show it to the police like that? Do you live in Nigeria? I doubt it, because if do, you will know that the police will simply delete those pictures and say they never existed.

While I was in school, there was a case which police arrested some students driving a posh car. They said they beleived the students were robbers. While already in the cell, they offered the police their I'd cards as proof. They simply collected it. When someone higher authority came, they said the students never showed them any ID, they were lying.

Not everyone is a dullard. Some of us are street-smart and Yinla Johnson is probably one of such person.

Then concerning Lastma taking the pictures? You can pin human behaviour down to any law. Lastma is not one person. One of the officials who is not comfortable with the frame-up or later came to his senses that what they are tryng to do is evil could have offered the pictures. A boss could have also gotten to the bottom of truth in the matter and order the picture to be surrendered to save the agency from a bigger disgrace.
PoliticsRe: LASTMA Official's Death: Yinka Johnson (The Banker) Released by lanrefront1(m): 5:44pm On Aug 14, 2012
Now, why are we not hearing about the disciplinary actions to be taken against the Lastma officials involved in this frame-up. I mean they try to frame-up somebody for murder. This tells a lot about Lastma; it's agency full of evil people. Why are we not hearing from the governor of the Director of Lastma.

I think Mrs. Yinka Johnson should sue Lastma to court for trying to frame her up for murder. She definitely has a case that a Judge will hear.

She needs to do this so as to expose Lastma, or else they will do it to another person.

This shows Lastma is an agency whose officials frame-up people for offences they have not committed. If you have a state of mind that can frame-up someone for murder, then other frame-ups are just child's play. It also means you can even kill.
PoliticsRe: LASTMA Official's Death: Yinka Johnson (The Banker) Released by lanrefront1(m): 5:34pm On Aug 14, 2012

I am fearing oh lipsrsealed
There already several explanations offered on this thread of how the pictures could have come about. Why exactly do you think it's completely impossible. Like it has been said, it's protocol for Lastma officials to take pictures of the spot a car breaking the law to use as evidence against the law-breaker. It could also have been taken by the woman, as you can see there is noone in the car.

Then OP posted the source if this news. I think it's reasonable for us to believe for now until credible evidence confirming the opposite.

Hey, I am focusing on personalities and not issues. But you needed to be asked "if you are well". All over the thread you have been crucifying the woman as if you were actually there. As if you know all this things for a fact.

I didn't say I believe the woman's story. I said I'll believe the story of witnesses over that of the police or Lastma. In this our Nigeria, can you honestly say there is not reasonable cause to say that due to precedence.

You said people are saying the woman is innocent because of some BB mesages being around. I've not seen any and I'm not even saying she's innocent.

So you accusing people of this, what reason do you have for al the screaming at the top of your writing-voice that she is guilty? It had better be because you were present when the events happened.

Imagine, listen to yourself, you said "hmmm, she never ran off with
her car, yet the police had to come
before the security men at Okota gate
open the gate... Is this logical?" You are saying it as if you were there. You heard about it the same way your alledged BB message recipients heard about it. So how come you their accuser is not exersing more wisdom?

@Wellmax,

Are you sure you are alright? I don't think you are. Or do you work at Lastma? You do not even know whayt really happened. And from the woman's account, she never ran off with her car. If ony that can be proven, it means the police and Lastma are lying.

If the committed the crime, good. But if there is reasonable doubt she didn't, she should not pay for a crime she did not commit.

Personally I'll take the word of ordinary citizens who witnessed the incident over that of Lastma or police officials.

Serously if a car had being stoped, and the Lastma officials were right with her at the spot, the car can't get enough speed taking off to kill a man on the spot. It has to be already on motion. Something is wrong in the story.

Then why would you detain a two months baby with the mother? Is that necessary? Does it makes any sense? It only proves that the police are barbaric.

Till tomorrow, its still recurring. It's difficult to end homegrown terrorism anywhere in the world abruptly.
If the terrorism is sponsored from outside or perpetrated by outsiders, you can deploy your intelligence to Quell it. You can even deny them access and entry into the country. You can also block their monetary transfers.
But you have a situation where a section of the country is indisposed to the present power equation and they feel that the best way to go about it is to bomb themselves gradually.
It could have been better and easier if Boko Haram were an army of sorts or a rebel group which are visible and advance with their military might to capture territories like in Syria.
I will be the first person to call for GEJ's sack, if he can't deploy soldiers to confront them.

But in this case, BH is an orientation. Anybody can automatically be a Boko haram once you take up the orientation. There's no special camp or uniform or faces.
All it takes is to go into your closet and couple up Gas cylinder and cables and drive to the nearest public place to kill yourself.
You have nothing to loose so even when a security man tries to stop you in your tracks, you explode yourself and the deed is done.
Then we all converge in Nairaland to shout GEJ.
The new Bokoharam is the Northern faction of PDP. I wish you people will make that clear in your assertion instead of of just generalizing by saying "Northern elites".

Even General Azazi said this much. It has nothing to do with Buhari, El-rufai etc.

It's understandable that you may not have the intellectual and mental ability to sustain a healthy debate on this score.
It's better you just keep quiet and learn from the sidelines.
Funny; but you and your fellow colleagues have reacted with the same strategy to many meaningful and insightful posts that punctures holes in your logic to many times to count.

However, I do agree that El-rufai with are seeming to be nothing more than predictable rhetorics aim at cheap popularity. He seem interested in scoring political points against GEJ than being concerned about his kins who are been slaughtered by Bokoharam.

However, they are so many things wrong with GEJ's goverment that has nothing to do with Bokoharam.

ifihearam: When I keep telling you people here that these northern leaders and elders are responsible for the incessant bombings by boko haram you thought I was just an asslicker to GEJ, boko haram is an instrumet instituted by the northerners to make this country ungovernable for GEJ,but I have good news for them no matter the amount of intimidation,GEJ will complete his tenure successfully and if he deems it fit to re contest he will and will win with a landslide victory.
And if they push it any further the president my be forces to use hits might and power to frustrate thew whole northern region and by all means they will be the ones to lose.

Pataki over to you
Actually, that is not what you have been telling us. What you've been telling us is that Buhari is the author, creator and the Commander in General of Bokoharam. At least most of the time that is what you and your compatriots have been shouting.

Now let's take this admission of yours a little further. Let's get more specific. You have said and accepted that the Northern elders and leaders are responsible for Bokoharam. The question is which Northern elders and leaders. It is the PDP Northern elders and leaders.

How, you ask?

Simple. From the demand of AREWA from GEJ, it's obvious the agenda is a political one. Who stands to gain if Jonathan submits to this blackmail and drops his 2015 ambitions. Did I hear you say the North?

That really is not the answer; it's only a semblance of the answer. The real answer is the Northern faction of PDP; they are the ones that will gain from the new power equation if Jonathan drops his 2015 ambitions.

Really, what is the gain of Buhari or CPC is Sambo or David Mark becomes the next president? Or what is the gain of Northerners in other political parties? We all know they will rather prefer if their party candidate to be president even if he is from the South because politically, it is more rewarding for them.

Was Azazi not right when he said Bokoahram is the creation of PDP? Why were people castigating the man. The new, evil and satanic Bokoharam was birthed by internal politics and powergames to grasp power within the PDP.

So please let's be more accurate and specific in our utterances and assertions. It makes a world of difference and directs blame to the right quarters. Specifics (not generalities) makes for better analysis and rationalizations geared towards problem solving.

PDP is responsible for the carnage and deaths happening in the North and slowly making headway towards the South.

Let's not be afraid to say it. PDP is the greatest problem of Nigeria.

wow! So we still have sum northernerns with brain? cool
We are looking for de-tribalized Nigerians who will speak the truth regardless of where they are from. We have such a guy here and the more we have the better.

There has never been doubt that there are Northerners who are can still reason correctly (I.e have brains).

And if we accede to the arguement that most Southerners have brains, you obviously without a doubt, are one the few exceptions who possess no brain at all. It is so obvious from your foolish, thoughtless and needless comment. The guy's comment, coming from a Northerner warranted commendation and not insults and sarcasm.

Go work on yourself, and while at it, pray for wisdom before you stand on a pedestal to determines who has a brain or not.

Rubbish Nonsense. Why didn't he stopped rigging in his own election? Or why all the manipulation in the judicial system when CPC dragged PDP to court of the last presidential elections. They practically removed the Judge and put another just in order give PDP favourable judgement.

A beg, go sit for toilet. Stop thinking we are all stupid.

HammedSodiqq: Saboteurs, they should be identified and prosecuted. No wonder, after so much money, little or no result is being achieved. We thank God for Barth Nnaji, min of Power, atleast power has improved hitting the record 4237 megawatt. These our enemies must be brought to book.
Ignoramus! So because the Minister says so it is true. So tell me, what does have to do with paying them their rightful entitlement if you wish to dis-engage them.

And if there is anyone working closely with generators and diesel importers, beam your light upon goverment big-shot officials, especially PDP.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Under-developed The north – Prof. Ango Abdullahi by lanrefront1(m): 7:08pm On Aug 08, 2012
2012 makes 52 years that Nigeria has been independent. Out of those 52 years, I think one can say the North has been in power for maybe 70 percent of the time.

The Northern leaders has had the opportunity and unlimited political power to develop their region and educate its people more than any other tribe in Nigeria. But they instead chose to keep their people improverished, ignorant and uneducated so that they can easily manipulate and reign as demigods amongst their kinsmen.

The case of the Northern elites is best expressed by this biblical proverb: "He who sows the wind will reap the whirlwind".

The man should shut and go and sit down for toilet.

The day Northern elites can collectively own up that they have done their kinsmen a GREAT EVIL, that day, healing will start.

All this Bokoharam and other so many socio-politcal disavantaged position of the North are results of the evil deeds of their elites coming back to haunt them.

For instance, muslim youth for decades have been murdering christians and southerners without any strong condemnation or reprisal from the authorities, the elders, the elites and the people in general. It was such a religious, social and political atmosphere which created the a fertile ground for Islamic extremism, suecide-boming mentalty, religious and tribal intolerance to thrive. Do you see semblance of such, even to a minute degree in any place in the South or East.

Now that the extremists they created are killing even Northerners and muslims, they are blaming everyone except themselves.

I'm telling you, if Bokoharam activities were limited to only bombing churches and selectivly lynching southerners and ibo traders, you won't hear anything from these so called Northern elites. They will keep mute like they have done for decades.

They are talking now because they don,t feel safe anymore. The hydra-headed monster they created is coming back to harm them and they have lost every means of controlling it.

PoliticsRe: Fashola Signs Lagos Road Traffic Bill Into Law-trucks Are Prohibited B/w 6am-9pm by lanrefront1(m): 1:16pm On Aug 07, 2012
This law without a doubt has many aspects which as to be fine-tuned and needs not be signed into law that quickly.

By and large, my greatest grouse and biggest problem of Lagos traffic laws is: why does the fine for all offences have to be so exorbitant. There is a general common sense in law which is: punishment ought to be commensurate with the crime (in this case, the fine ought to be commensurate with the traffic law broken.

For instance, can you honestly say(like someone already said) that asking for a fine of N30,000 for eating gala or a snack on the road makes sense.

An exuberant twenty- one year old boy that has just started driving runs an errand for his mum and foolishly continues eating a biscuit he has been eating from home. So you catch the boy and put the mum in a 30k problem because of that minor offence.

It's simply not true that the desired effect will not be achieved unless the fine is ridiculously exorbitant. A N2000 fine for a first offender is very much in order. The second time N5000 and the third time, N5000 + a day in police cell or a 50 hours enforced community service.

The truth is that unnecessarily high exorbitant fees for traffic offences is merely a continuation of the corruption mentality in governance.

They have been cases where road-users mistakenly broke some traffic laws and in a desperate bid to escape caused terrible accidents. The reason was because of ridiculously high fine they know they will have to cough out which they don't just have. When fines are reasonable, offenders will readily accept their fault, learn their lesson and pay the fine.

There is no need for endless negotiations with Lastma officials. Which brings me to the next point. Exorbitant fines is merely a way of finding money for the boys. When a fine for a minor offence is put as 30k, then Lastma or VIO will be telling you to bring 15k and they will let you go. If the fines are reasonable, no one will waste his or her time negotiating with officials to pay that will never reach goverment coffers. People will just admit their guilt and pay the fine. They will even ask for receipt. If there is no monetary gain for their private pockets in being unduly over-zealous, these officials will stick to doing the real job assigned to them and will stop harrasing and extorting Lagosians. They will stop hiding and then jumping out to arrest peope. Their brains will begin to know the difference between a car breaking down and a car breaking traffic law. They will be the greatest advocate that there should be proper and extensive and legible sign-boards through-out Lagos showing what roads are meant for.

Imagine, so many one-way roads have no sign-board indicating the nature of the road. How the hell is a first-timer in that area expected know? Through the gift of prophecy and vision? And some that do have, the sign-board is small or inconspicious that you will defintely miss it.

I don't why know Lawmakers make laws without caring to carry out any resaech or ground work because of the people thay claim to represent. Afterall, laws are made for the sake of the people and not the other way round. On the otherhand, maybe they just know exactly what they are doing.

My guy, what is your problem? Rochas is a public figure; a governor for that matter. Why can't some ask "Where or how did this guy make his money". Or are you his son?

The question might even possibly be borne of admiration and desire to imitate his strategy and not necessarily to castigate him.
