SportsRe: Greece Players Turn Down World Cup Bonus by laoma15(m): 9:12pm On Jun 29, 2014
There is absolutely no room for comparison of Greece with any Africa Countries. Greece cares for her citizens, African leaders do not.

Why won't African players demand for their portion of the national cake when all their leaders does is to amass wealth and loot public treasury.

While money is a major factor in developing countries, it is not so in developed Countries.

Emphasis on money is very low in developed Countries. Government has provided basics needs of live for their citizens.

If you don't have cash in African you are nobody. So, don't compare life and death.
PoliticsRe: Mandela Was Angry With Nigeria - Dr. Hakeem Baba-ahmed by laoma15(m): 4:28am On Dec 10, 2013
Where are the Nigerian youths? Has anyone care to pause and think about the fate of he young boys and girls selling recharge cards and Gala in traffic across the country? We are wasting a whole Generation. It's high time we started demanding for accountability from the money bag leaders. Education is not all about going to school to accumulate certificates. Education is about knowing your right and being able to stand by it. Until we put an end to money politics, Nigeria will never produce a good leader that will take us to the promise land. Those that has money to throw around to get to political positions only cares about their investments. We have crops of credible people who can deliver as good leaders, but they do not have money to spend to get into the office. The youths of this Country need to rise to the occasion. Good name is better than Gold and Silver. Be an agent for change anywhere you find yourself. Do it in your locality and in your neighborhood. Any nation that pays so much emphasis on money such as Nigeria is heading for doom. Few words is enough for the wise. Madiba has said it all. Nigeria is an idolatry society that worships money. That will take us nowhere as a nation. Nigeria is the hope of all black race. We must get it right.
RomanceRe: Sleeping With Another Man's Wife. by laoma15(m): 5:03pm On Dec 07, 2013
This is a very interesting topic. But I'm surprise the way my fellow Nairalanders are handling this topic with laxity.
please DO NOT SLEEP WITH ANOTHER MAN'S WiFE. What goes around comes around. Apart from the law of karma, it's a sin punishable by death. The two holy books categorically stated this. It is called adultery. In the traditional setup, it's punishable by thunderbolt (Magen).
All you men out there, avoid it like a plaque. How would you feel to see another man sleeping with that sweet lady of yours when you eventually got married?. It also comes with a curse. Little surprise many people are wallowing in poverty and retrogression. Most married women do it out of desperation. If you come across such women, please help them with the little resources you can afford and counsel them, but do not sleep with them. Let's make our world a better place to live in. Worst scenario, look for a single lady. I hope I have said it well. Do not toy with your destiny. Adultery have ruined many people destined for greatness in life.
PoliticsRe: South Africans Chase Nigerians Out Of Their Homes by laoma15(m): 10:59am On May 31, 2013
Networkmaster: Well, i have read what most of you have been posting. I have actually lived in South Africa for years. Yes, they might not love you like their brothers just like any other country will not like you like his country man. Call it envy or jealousy, its just the way life is.

If the truth should be told. I can boldly say at least 80% of Nigerians living in South Africa are in drugs or fraud. Who wants that in his country. Even most of the so called 9ja qualified doctors hardly find themselves a job in South Africa but whn they do get one they live real good for sure.

I know what i am saying, i live around the Nigerian in sunnyside pretoria so i know whats up in the country. Even the so called 9ja students are finding themselves doing fraud.

Our 9ja brother are the main drug dealers in that country and pimping the a55 of the south African ladies.

Can you imagine a foreigner coming to destroy your country with all the illegal business and still living the best life? why wouldn't they be jealous? So i really don't blame them. Its high time our brother started living a good life, make the world a better place and polluting the world with crime.

A 9ja man in south Africa will wake up in the morning with heavy prayer, casting any demon that will stop his fraud business not to hammer that season. God safe us.
I blame the Nigeria Immigration officials who does not screen every potential travellers out of the country. For crying out loud, a lot of Nigerians going out does not have any business of travelling outside this Country. That's why they are constituting nuisance outside the country. Nigerians in diaspora beware you are creating more enemies for yourself. The urge for money by Nigerians in alarming. Money is the only language Nigerians understand. Where is your moral value? Nigerians need a change of heart before they start killing us everywhere.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Father Of 3 Commits Suicide After Sack by laoma15(m): 4:21pm On May 30, 2013
This why we need to be our brothers keeper in this country. The neighbours were aware of his state of mind having lost his job. Did anyone offered to counsel him or offered any word of encouragement? we lost one good Nigerian yet again due to insensitivity of people around. Poor labour could also have contributed to this. In Nigeria anyone can just hire and fire at will.
Too much shedding of blood and lost of life in the Land!
Fellow Nigerians please be your brothers keeper.
May his soul rest in peace.
PoliticsRe: CPC’s Fashakin Is A Brainless Ignoramus - Abati by laoma15(m): 1:27pm On May 29, 2013
Mr. Abati is becoming too aggressive and vulgar for my liking. A senior Government officer is not expected to loose his cool no matter what. His use of abusive word on Fasakin is totally unwarranted. If Abati were to be on other side, he will do worse than Fasakin. I still remember all his criticism of Obasanjo. cant he do his Job of image building without using offensive languages? Somebody should call Abati to order please.

Its high time Nigerians set their Values right. We hear the same story everyday. Nigeria! Nigeria!! Nigeria!!!. Could it have been a curse? Anywhere you turn to its all negative thing about Nigeria both home and abroad. We need to go back to the drawing board as a Nation. If not Yahoo Yahoo boys, it will be suicide bombers or prostitution, drug peddling, Murder e.t.c. why so much emphasis on money in Nigeria? Are we the only poor nation on earth? This is the time for stringent Policy formulation by Nigeria Government. It is true that these folks are British citizen, but rememberer that they have Nigeria blood flowing in their veins. This is a shameful act that should be condemned by all and sundry. All that average Nigeria is concern about is to Build mansion, ride in a big car and have Naira to throw around. Is that what live is all about? Nigerians spend money like sand outside the country whenever they go shopping and the Nation is in shamble. No security, No Job. Where are we heading to as a nation? What future does our youths have? Selfishness and greed is the order of the day. This is common on our roads, dare to traffic and come rushing like mad people. blasting horns like crazy. Cant we think and act like a normal humans? where is love? what are the churches and mosques doing about the lost of value and morale decadence in the society? Nigerians THINK!!! Don't make the Whole world hate your people.

RomanceRe: Why Do Old Men Love To Chase After Young Girls? by laoma15(m): 1:23pm On Nov 09, 2012
The reasons are very simple. The older men has money to throw around. The young ladies of nowadays want a ready made men.
Young ladies wanna ride in good cars with Ac's and sleep in five star hotels. who could produce all this if not the older men. The money bags. Our university campuses have been turned into brothel. Marriages don't last anymore. When the ladies eventually settled down with men who cannot meet their financial needs, the ladies continues to date their men friend, the husband get to know and then problem starts. I know of someone whose wife arrogantly told him that he can't stop her from seeing her ex money bags because he the husband cannot meet her needs. The marriage has ended on the rock.
We need a change of heart in this Country. The older men should stop corrupting the innocent younger ladies. If there are no buyer there won't be sellers.
Politics5,0000 Naira Note What Do You Think? by laoma15(op): 5:08pm On Sep 05, 2012
The largest denomination of currency ever printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) was the $100,000 Series 1934 Gold Certificate featuring the portrait of President Wilson. Only 7 were printed and they were only used for transferring large amounts of money between government departments.

The highest denomination ever printed for use in circulation was $10,000. Other high-denomination notes were $5000, $1000, and $500.

The present denominations of US currency in production are $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100.

Printing of high-value notes was suspended in 1945, although the last ones were all part of the 1934 series and carry that date regardless of what year they were actually issued. Banks were allowed to distribute large bills up till 1969. President Nixon issued an order that year halting the practice because large bills were being heavily used by organized criminals to hide illegal transactions.

High-denomination bills were never withdrawn so technically they're still legal tender, but it would be foolish to spend one because they're worth much more to collectors.

PoliticsRe: Okupe Blasts El-Rufai & Bakare Over GEJ Resignation Call by laoma15(m): 12:28pm On Aug 09, 2012
Pastor Tunde Bakare is the Elijah of our time. It is the responsibility of a Prophet to check the on-doing of anyone in a leadership position. We all knew how Elijah dealt with King Ahab. Bakare is doing his God-sent work and he should be encouraged. He has distinguished himself from other preachers who goes to Abuja to beg for contract. When a prophet says "thus says the Lord" a president should catch cold. How comes Nigerians are too far away from the reality? do you think its everyone who can close their eyes seeing evil and act of wickedness being perpetuated? do you think that money is everything? those in government should continue to steal and steal and no one should talk? is that a type of legacy we would like to leave for our up-coming ones? if the present leaders knows that they cannot secure our life and properties and take us to a promise land then they should yield to the yearning of teaming Nigeria Population as advocated by Elrufai and Pastor Bakare.

Bakare is a voice of God and he has every right to challenge unpopular decision made by any regime.

Car TalkRe: Ever Had Your Car Stolen Before? Advice Others. by laoma15(m): 3:04pm On Jul 13, 2012
I had my first car stolen in 2000(Toyota Carrina 11) while attending a sunday morning service in far away Kano.
It was a terrible experience. When I came out from the church, I was looking under another car that had parked exactly where mine had been parked some hours before.

I reported the matter to the Police and parted with some money but no show.

After three weeks of rigorous search, I got a call from Lagos from a family friend that he saw a car that looks like my car.
The car was put on display for sale.
He requested that I send them the car chassis number and the Engine number.
Not quite long when I got a call back that the chassis number was the same but they couldnt search the Engine number because that was a bit hidden.
Had to fly down to Lagos for identification.
When I got to the spot, I hardly could recognise the car cos the sellers had turned it to ''Tokunbo" and got all documents perfected.
I play a role of a buyer and carefully examined the documents and other features to convince myself that it was actaully my car.

I eventually recovered my car.

It was a big testimony.

I will advise that people inscribe the registration number on the glasses and other strategic places to discourage them atleast from reselling.

EducationRe: UNILAG Shut Down Over MAU Name Change Protests by laoma15(m): 2:02pm On May 30, 2012
Nobody is against change of name here. But the point is that either Mr. president have not followed the due process or he has been badly advised.
Consultations should have been carried out among the School authority and the student union. Nobody has a sole right of imposing anything on anyone under democracy. We have prestigious institutions such as Havard university, Cambridge university and Oxford university which nobody dare to cahnge.
UNILAG is a unique institution of learning and the name change should have only happened after a wide consultation.

This also shows that Mr. president need to do more in the arear of decision making. Some of his decisions are becoming very unpopular.

We need light, we need water, we need roads, we need food on our tables, shelter over our heads, secure future for our children!!!
PoliticsRe: Govt Official Stashes N2bn Loot In Residence by laoma15(m): 10:14am On Feb 03, 2012
Stealing with a pen is worse than stealing with a gun even though both are condemnable. When China was facing high level of corruption such as ours, they enacted a law criminalising corruption. Offenders were publicly executed. within a year, the corruption level droped drastically. If we are serious and really want to tackle corruption in Nigeria, offenders should be executed just as the likes of "Anini and Monday Osunbor" of early 80's were executed for robbery.

Pen robbery pass arm robbery!

Christianity EtcRe: Noise Pollution: Religious Leaders Deny Knowledge Of Approved Decibel by laoma15(m): 12:22pm On Feb 02, 2012
Appologies to all that took offence from my earlier posting.

This boils down to the samething we have been talking about. If you read my comment carefully, I made mention of Mosques, Churches and even noise from  vehicles and Motorcycles.

I am very passionate about this topic because it is something that we do and make us look like we are not civilised. It simply doesn't make any sense to be noisy. We are too noisy in this part of the World and we really need to put a check to it. I have travelled far and wide and it is not so in other Nations. East Africa is very quite and peole there are easy going. The same goes for Europe and America. Republic of Benin, Togo and Ghana are not as noisy as we are.

It amazes me how some peole are easily carried away and blindfolded when it comes to the issue of Religion.

Havent you heared that Religion is the bigest fraud in the World?

Offcourse Churches do constitute a lot of nuisance during the night vigil sessions before the enactment of the law banning the use of puplic speakers. But there has been a high rate of compliance from churches compared to Mosques. I'm not holding brief for any faith, this was based on my personal observation.

I dont think we can ever move forward in this country with this kind of attitude some of us still maintain. When next you go to your mosque, please tell your Imam to stop disturbing the entire neigbourhood in the name of call to prayers. (this is an outdated practice).

@Christians, please when next you go to Church, tell your Pastors to stop the use of public speakers at night vigils and during odd hour services.

For non-moslems and non-christians, please tell your priests not to make noise when going to the forest and the three-cross paths to make your sacrifices. let us make our Nation a better place.

When next you drive your car or your motorbike do not press your horn uneccessarily.

Also remember to tell the politicians to stop deceiveing us with words such as '' Inshallah" and "by the grace of God". Let your "yes" be yes and let your "No" be No.

Who are those that steals our public fund? They are either Christians or Muslims. They are usually sworn in with either a bible or Quaran.

Your personal relationship with your maker is what matters and not the number of hours you spend making noise in Churches or Mosques.

Put sentiment aside, we need to be wise my felllow country men!!!
Christianity EtcRe: Noise Pollution: Religious Leaders Deny Knowledge Of Approved Decibel by laoma15(m): 5:55pm On Feb 01, 2012
It is noteworthy that while LASG enacted the law banning public speakers in religious houses, they have done nothing to effect compliance.

The noise of loud speakers blasting call to prayers by Muslim clerics every 5o'clock is a complete nuisance.

I find it difficult to belief  that in this 21st century when the alarm clocks and handsets abound with alarm system, somebody will still derive pleasure blasting the speakers every morning in the name of religion.

There are little kids that need their sound sleep, what about people that belongs to other faith?.

The use of public speakers is nothing but a complete nuisance and people should stop hiding under religion.

Why is it that we don't have such level of noise pollution in places like Ikoyi and Victoria Island? Is someone telling me that there are no mosques/churches in these areas?

Whenever I have something to do or visit a relative and slept over on Island, I slept peacefully till day break.

I spent my last holiday in Portharcourt and I was surprised that there was no noise of call to prayers by mosques to wake me up rudely in the early hours of the morning.

What about the blasting of car and motorbike horn? some of the riders has turned honing into toy. They derived pleasure pressing it at will like a baby playing with a toy.

LASG need to do something urgently about the level of noise pollution in the metropoly. If not whole lot of People risk health hazards associated with high level of noise pollution.

Oworoshoki area is like hell with speakers blasting with morning call to prayers every morning. The case is worse during fasting periods when mosques organises programmes virtually every nights.

Yes, their is freedom of religion but this needs to be done with lots of wisdom and concern for fellow human kind. God does not permit any religion to disturb or constitute noise nuisance to fellow human.

Muslims in Germany never do call to prayers. All Churches and Mosques in developed countries are sound-profed.

It is high time we wake up from our slumber in this country and do the right thing.

LASG please do something about this once ans for all!!!
