Leopardd: Hmm You did not tell the whole story. Oba Akiolu made his comments in front of Igbo chiefs and elders in Lagos. And they all applauded his speech. how come no one is castigating those Igbo chiefs? "Vote for Ambode or Perish Inside the Lagoon", Oba Akiolu Tells Igbos
Gboyega Akinsanmi with agency report
Igbos living in Lagos were told on Sunday to vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, or else they will die in the lagoon.
A visibly angry Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, in an unconcealed threat, stated that he was not ready to beg the Igbos, but if they repeated what they did on March 28 when they voted for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan, then they should be ready for the consequences.
The governorship elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday, and it is believed that Igbo residents in Lagos will vote for the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje, just like they did during the presidential and National Assembly elections that led to the victory of PDP candidates of Igbo origin and from Delta State in three federal constituencies in Lagos.
The victory of the non-indigenes of Lagos, THISDAY gathered, has not gone down well with the Lagos chapter of the APC.
Speaking at a meeting with Igbo leaders in the state, according to an online news medium, Freedom Online, the first class monarch, who failed to recognise the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos, said: “On Saturday, if anyone of you goes against Ambode who I picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard and it is not my father who gave birth to me.
“Jonathan is my son and I speak to him everyday. By the grace of God, I am the owner of Lagos for the time being. This is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to the dead and those coming in the future.
“On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of God, goes against my wish that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos State, the person is going to die inside this water.
“I’m not ready to beg you. Nobody knew how I picked Ambode. Jimi (Agbaje) is my blood relation and I told him that he cannot be governor in Lagos for now. The future belongs to God. I am not begging anybody, but what you people cannot do in Onitsha, Aba or anywhere, don’t do it here.
“If you do what I want, Lagos will continue to be prosperous for you. If you go against my wish, you will perish in the water.”
The monarch said anybody against Ambode did not wish the state well, adding, “I am for the progress, growth and development of Lagos. Ambode is highly cerebral, he’s a symbol and he is going to deliver the message which I, the Oba of Lagos, have said. And he will govern the state for another eight years.
“He is going on a mission and God will give him the wisdom and knowledge to fulfill that mission. Almost a year ago, I declared that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos and it will not change.
“From time immemorial, the previous occupiers of this house will say what they wanted after consultations with other people. And this hasn’t changed and it will not change at this time,” he said.
In a veiled reference to one of Jonathan’s predecessors, Akiolu stated that the crisis Nigeria was facing was not caused by the Jonathan administration but by another person he refused to name.
Continuing with his tirade, he said: “If not for the appeal from Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) and my highly respected maternal father, the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode, all what is happening today is not the cause of the present government. The man who caused everything knows himself.”
In his response, the Eze-Ndigbo of Amuwo-Oriade, Dr. Gordian Dimojiaku, promised Akiolu that the Igbos in the state would support Ambode.
“The mistake of last Saturday was caused by everybody, not only the Igbos. It is not only the Igbos that were responsible for the votes. But we have learnt our lesson. Saturday’s election is going to be a different thing and Ambode is going to win.
“Everybody knows that when you fail the first time, you cannot afford to fail again. We are going to tell our people that Ezes from the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas are here and that we have sworn with the Oba that we are going to make sure that Ambode wins next Saturday’s election,” he said. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/vote-for-ambode-or-perish-inside-the-lagoon-oba-akiolu-tells-igbos/206050/ |

freshvine: Good Post. Their mother probably must have brainwashed and pitch them against their father.
Someone brought them into this world and he deserve to be accorded respect And you know this because... ? Do you know the mother personally? Or were you present when the daughter was being brainwashed? Mere conception does not make a man the father of a child, oh! How people jump to stupid conclusions really beats my imagination. Is this not the same Fani-Kayode that has been reported as a wife batterer, chronic philanderer and multiple cheat? Do a Google search and let us know if your findings are different. Mtcheew! |

Ndlistic: Source:http://nationalaccordnewspaper.com/2015/07/fani-kayode-distances-self-from-daughters-wedding/ Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has washed off his hands from a wedding ceremony of his daughters, (name withheld) which comes up next Sunday in Lagos.
Fani-Kayode made this known in Lagos in response to a question on the marriage, shortly after he was discharged and acquitted by the Lagos High Court on the case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He said, “I won’t attend the wedding, am not aware of it and I did not give my approval”
The bride to be is a daughter to Fani-Kayode’s first wife, Yemisi Wada, who is a daughter to the former governor of old Kwara State, Adamu Attah.
Efforts to reach the mother of the bride to be proved abortive as calls placed to her GSM line were never answered. This newspaper could NOT even get its facts right. Silly people. Yemisi Wada is NOT his first wife and she is not the daughter of the former governor of old Kwara State. She is the daughter of the respected Justice Adebayo Adeniji (rtd) of the Lagos State Judiciary and the niece of the former Minister of Trade and Investments, Segun Aganga. Fani-Kayode's first wife was Saratu Atta. |

joywendy: Laudate can you describe how this healing took place? Was it immediately or it was during a short during of time? Did you have a change of environment or something?
You know people can also outgrow asthma Trust me, there was nothing like outgrowing asthma, in this case. I went to a Pentecostal church for a service and everyone in the congregation that day was anointed with oil, including yours truly. The Pastor prayed that God should heal all those who were present. It sounds weird but I immediately felt a strange current going through me. Omo, I left the place immediately oh! Anyway, I got home and slept off. Following day, and for the next 3 days it rained heavily and I had to go to school back & forth in that rain. Under normal circumstances, I would have been coughing & wheezing because of the cold weather after being drenched in that rain, but I felt nothing.... which was odd. My friends who were used to my episodes, used to ask if I had my inhalers with me and my medications. But strangely, I never felt the need to use them.... all through that month and even beyond. By the end of the next month most of my anti-asthma medications had expired due to lack of use, and I haven't needed them since then. What else could it be? But the power and mercy of God healing me? I still can't explain it fully myself. God works in mysterious ways...I tell you. |

stwazobia: The Last time i check: it is not a crime for a person to showcase his or her wealth. Why are you killing urself of knowing the source of his wealth. Where u there when he was born? If he was unfortunate to be very poor: you will still blame him. Please provide an evidence of any money he has stolen or borrowed from you, so i can join you in prosecutn the young man: if not i will advice you to commot bad belle from your life and be happy for every successful person you meet on your way............. You obviously forgot to attend classes on critical thinking when you were in school. Those who knew Dino from his home from way back, can attest to the fact that his sudden wealth is inexplicable. If he got it honestly, he should supply proof of the business he did, and how the money came into his pocket. People who have worked hard for their money like Tony Elumelu, Femi Otedola, Wale Tinubu, Mike Ikpoki, Oba Otudeko, Aliko Dangote etc., would not flaunt it carelessly and stupidly the way Dino does. Or have you ever seen what the interior of Dangote's bedroom looks like, despite his stupendous billions? He should tell us how much he remitted to the tax man last year, maybe people would then believe that he is not fraudulent. As for me, I do not worship people with ill-gotten wealth like you do. It shows you are just from the same gutter as they crawled out from, when you do so. Only those who celebrate illegal acquisition of wealth and such vices, would rejoice when people who are not known to earn two kobo from their daily living decide to flaunt it with such concupiscence. So yes, last time I checked it is a crime for someone to flaunt wealth he has acquired, if he cannot explain legally how he came by the source of such wealth. In other countries, his total emoluments for the year would be added up and if they do not tally with the kind of wealth he is showing off, he would be behind bars!! |

fujirice: And your point is? Sometimes most of you talk with zero information. Don't you have other nationals living in Nigeria? Does that make them less of who they are? Don't u have your own people living abroad? Does that make them less of who they are? What's the point of being in a country where your hands are tied of doing certain things for yourself. You have resources in your backyard u can not tap. Your roads nko? U can not repair them cause they are "federal roads". See I was never a fan of having our Biafria until I start to realize the limitations this forced contraption has been causing. Just tell yourself the truth and look at federal government institutions and tell me it's something to write home about. See ehn? We have tried one Nigeria and this is where we are, let's try to your tents O ye everyone, let everybody go and develop their region with their resources. So it is because of bad roads you want to leave Nigeria ROFLMAO! Even in the US, there are some districts outside the urban areas where the roads are nothing to write home about. So what exactly is your point? Your governors in the South-East (like in other parts of the country) have been unable to fix their inner state roads...even market roads that should have been upgraded have been abandoned, yet a lot of them leave office as multimillionaires! This same scenario is replicated in various parts of the federation. Advocating for the break up of a country, because the roads are bad is nothing short of ridiculous. Listen: "States are made up of the men that are in them. So therefore, we cannot have better states, unless we have better men." I can't remember the philosopher who made this statement. If Biafra becomes a reality, and the quality of people who administer its' affairs do not change, then it would be an exercise in futility. May God give you your Biafra, oh! Please just don't apply for an entry visa to come back to Nigeria once you get your wish, since you cannot see anything good in Nigeria! Hehehehe.....! At least, the foreigners in Nigeria do not spew hate in our direction, while they are on our shores. |

Fyi,am a moda4kn Benin niggga. You still have no right to speak for Edo people or decide for them where they should go. And most Edo people get along extremely well with people of the South-west. Most of the Edo people have enjoyed the hospitality of the South-west and will never describe them as 'betraying & backstabbing.' Which Edo man was betrayed by the South-west and when? So these your claims are nothing but lies ..... if you want to join Biafra nobody will stop only you and your family. Most of my Edo friends do not want anything to do with Biafra. |

Iykopee: ^^^^ Becos u aint the only Rivers man on this platform, may i remind u that u have a collection of village sanguines u refer to as elders? Now, talking about stealing crude oil from Rivers people, are u still believing in the same old stories they told our intellectually lazy fathers and grandfathers during the civil war?
In a situation whereby u can't point to one Rivers man who owns an oil well, while u have countless number of Hausas irrespective of the fact that they dont have single drop of oil in their region, does it not amount to stealing of crude oil @ your backyard? If u can't rebuke a Hausa man for stealing ur crude oil, why wud u do so to an igbo man?
besides, the igbo man produces crude oil in about 2 states, he's not a leech to us. U shud as a matter of fact start thinking like a 21st century being. Becos u are thinking like ur so called senseless elders, u just dont make a difference now. Btw the way, i'm a Rivers man. There are a number of Rivers men that own oil wells. Had asthma from the age of 3 years till the age of 17. It was really bad. I missed out a lot on school because i spent more time being sick at home, than studying within the classroom walls. It was triggered by dust, fried oil, smoke, freshly cut grass, heat, cold, exercise ...... anything you can think of. If I made the mistake of having a cough or a cold, ah Omo, na to start wheezing be dat. Franol, Ventolin, Berotec etc; name it, I took it all. Bros, please go and study parliamentary convention and the house rules. Nobody here said the principal positions are unconstitutional. What people are talking about is the mode of nomination or selection of members into those positions. It is not done by some letter writers putting together a letter and tossing it at the Senate president to implement like a donkey. Saraki did not unilaterally pick the principal officers. APC members of the caucuses forwarded those members' names to him. So you can see that those APC caucuses had arrived at an agreeable decision because members of that same party too oh, had already nominated their own party stalwarts for the said positions on the floor of the same house. So are you saying the APC letter writers are greater in power, than the APC house members?? Are you saying the views and wishes of the APC house members do not matter? |
