UjSizzle: Yes that's what I'm saying. You're entitled to a minimum of 8% deduction on your gross emolument monthly, while your employer contributes 10%. What I have right now is dat my employer is deducting 10%. |
Career › Re: 10 Things You Need To Know About Pension In Nigeria by LaurelP(m): 4:15pm On Aug 27, 2015 |
micklplus: In the new order, PFAs carry out time to time forum to educate intending retirees in order for them to know what documentations that is required of them at the point of retirement.
Some of these documents are put in place 6 months before retirement. Once documentations are right and approval from PENCOM is in place, a retiree should get his/her retirement benefits in 90 days max!!
In some case where accrued right and nominal roll are required, such retirees might wait a little longer before the retirement benefit would come. That is why employees are educated through forum from time to time as to what is expected of them. Hi, Pls what's the right percentage dat shud be deducted for pension from an employee? For instance if am earning 45k, wat shud be my pension contribution and wat shud d employer contribute? |
Career › Re: 10 Things You Need To Know About Pension In Nigeria by LaurelP(m): 3:58pm On Aug 27, 2015 |
dhardline: I dont want to agree with the part that says you are sttongly advised to leave your pension with
the PFA cause from the information i have gathered over time on this topic i have realised that
they say that so they can continue to keep your money and hence use it to accumulate
interests. That write up failed to mention that if you use the programmed witdrawal and the
money you have in the account finishes they instantly stop paying you and hence you have nobody
to turn to except you have familes or investments which you can fall back to.
But if you get Annuity from an insurance company that amount will be used to buy a package for
you that will ensure you will continue getting paid as long as you live after your retirement cause
definitely the PFA funds will be invested and the interest will aid the continuous payment.
So its all depends on what you want. So how do u get to choose d one u want? |
Career › Re: 10 Things You Need To Know About Pension In Nigeria by LaurelP(m): 3:53pm On Aug 27, 2015 |
UjSizzle: You know before all these, PenCom needs to find a way to nab employers who fail to deduct pension from the employee gross emolument, and those who deduct and fail to remit to the PFC. I don't get the point of passing the Pension Act if there won't be a follow-up to ensure its administered. Pay attention to employers and enforce like taxes are administered in Nigeria! We have so many people who exploit others, it's unfair.
But before this masses need education. How many people know that they're entitled in the contributory pension scheme to have an 8% deduction from their gross emolument, and 10% employer contribution? How many are aware that this fund should be remitted within 7days to the PFCs? And that the Act (amended 2014) empowers PenCom to file criminal charges against employers who default? Thank u very much for dis info. So are u saying that only 8% of an employee's salary shud be deducted for pension while the employer contributes 10% of his (employee's) salary as pension? Pls elaborate more. |

Let me talk a little about Cover letter. There are no hard and fast rules concerning how a teacher's cover letter should be structured or formatted. It follows exactly the same procedure and format as any other field or profession. It still contains ur address by d right hand, the school's address by d left, salutation, heading (optional), body, closing, ur name/sign. However, the body is where u need to do some work, it is what u say here that determines whether it gets to the table or to the trash can/folder. The body should contain: 1) Your well wishes and your purpose for writing. 2) Your educational qualifications, school attended and course studied. Also any other professional qualification. 3) Your years of experience in the field, the subjects taught and your achievement in such schools. 4) Any publication, award etc that you've written/won. 5) Any soft skills you possess (eg. Computer skills, dancing, singing etc) 6) Re-emphasize your readiness to work with them and that you'll be expecting a call for an interview/test very soon. 7) Thank them for their time and consideration. Yours Sincerely, ur full name and phone number with an attachment to ur CV. I believe with this, you can easily craft your own cover letter. Have a nice day! |

Praise5: I don't want to say that today is messed with regards to my job search but honestly, I feel discouraged. I've been applying for job in schools in my neighbourhood since last week. Some said there are no vacancies while others simply collected my cv with the usual "we'll get back to you". Today I visited another school, the routine has been the same. I'll park my car anywhere around and my kids will wait inside for me; this takes just few minutes. Note: they are not attending summer lessons because we travelled earlier when lesson started. There was enough space in front of today's school and I parked there as instructed by the gateman. I went in, was told that test held last week but there seem to be vacancy left. After few questions by a three-man panel, I was sent to see the Principal at the secondary annex. While leaving I was advised not to leave my kids outside, so they came into the reception including my 7mths old baby. After a short interview and waiting for LONG over there, i started my written test. Because of the elapsed time while waiting, I got uncomfortable and worried about my kids esp the breastfeeding one. I was still writing when a staff was sent to call my attention that my kids were crying and disturbing. I lost concentration immediately and they said I should go and attend to them that they will get back to me. I have never been this angry with myself for long. I'm sitting here blaming the kids and myself. If I had known a test will be conducted immediately, I would have arranged for them to stay with a relative or friend. Do you people think they will call me back? Sorry for the long story Always make arrangements on where to keep ur kids when going for a job hunt. U can't go with kids for a test or interview especially if they're more dan one. Did you get there contacts? I suggest u call them if you haven't heard from them after a week. If not, u might also consider visiting them again. Goodluck. |

Romance › Re: 10 Excuses Nigerian Guys Use To Justify Their Inability To Approach A Lady by LaurelP(m): 11:18am On Aug 26, 2015 |
teamfrabidel: Every guy knows that its not an easy feat to successfully approach and woo a lady. Even the most confident of guys usually need to “gather mor*le” before doing the needful. This could stem from the fact that you don’t know what the outcome of the action you’re about taking might be. Another reason is the fear of rejection, nobody wants to feel ridiculed or like a looser sort of. We are all created with a sense of self worth and we crave for respect and regard which is normal. However, society has made it look like a guy who cannot approach a lady is not a “real man”. Such a guy is mocked by friends, relatives and even the female folk. As a result of this utter mockery and in order to live up to the expectation of the society, guys come up with some funny excuses to defend themselves and also to remove their mind from trying to approach ladies. Below are some of the excuses guys give themselves and others for their inability to approach women. 1) Naija girls are gold diggers: I’m sure you’ve heard or read many guys make such comments. They be like “Naija girls too like money jare, if you no get money forget am!” The truth is that this is not a valid excuse at all. No matter your level of economic power, there is always a woman out there who will accept you the way you are. you don’t need to have money to find love anywhere, besides I know some really poor guys dating rich chicks and even eating from them sef. What you need more is self confidence and social skills. 2) I Don’t Have Time for Girls Now: I hear this all the time and all I see is a guy who is frustrated about his inability to successfully woo a woman. I mean is there any such thing as a separate time you need to have for a woman? Lolz… Guys please enlighten me on what it means to have time for women. U ask a guy “What of your girlfriend?”. He goes like “Which girlfriend, I don’t have their time oo”. When I hear this I just laugh! 3) Girls are a Distraction: For real? You that has been jobless for 5 years after graduation, how is it a girl’s fault? It is you that is a distraction to yourself not girls. How come all these footballers, musicians, entertainers, bankers, doctors, oil guys that I see change chicks like wrapper don’t get distracted, na u come dey get distracted. My guy forget excuse and do the needful. 4) Women bring Badluck: Lols… I don’t even know what to say about this one. You hear guys say that if you want to make it in life, forget women. Funny thing is, they can’t! The more they try, the more they fail. Men and women have been created to ‘complete’ each other so my guy, unless you’re g*y….. 5) She’s too Pompous/disrespectful: No my guy, you’re too timid, that’s the truth. You have the right to woo any woman you like, she has the right to agree or disagree. Don’t give away your right, exercise it! Btw, research has shown that ladies who seem too pompous are usually much easier to convince than guys tend to think. 6) I can’t Satisfy her $exually: Most guys won’t voice out this excuse at all, only to very close friends if he’s the very open type. This however is not a valid excuse. How do you know you can’t satisfy her? How do you even know she’s after $ex? Must you Bleep every girl you date? Enough said jareh… 7) I Prefer Foreign Women to Nigerian: All na wash! So of all the millions of women in Naija, you can’t find a suitable one for yourself, na for foreign land you go see am? My guy, your problem no be Naija women, your problem is internal. Search yourself and tell urself the truth!
No Responsible Woman Anymore: If I hear! Maybe you want a Mary magdalene or virgin Mary. Guy, if na responsible woman be your excuse, why not enter Deeper life, Jehova Witness, mountain of Fire and the various mosques and look for them? Why look for responsible women at Allen Junction? Mtcheeew… 9) I Prefer to Roll With my Fellow Guys: You be g*y? Yes its good to have a good rapport with fellow guys, to have fun and drink with guys with no chick around once in a while. But my guy don’t use it as an excuse, because very soon those your guys will start asking you to go and look for a chick. They will soon start laughing at you bro. 10) Add Yours by Dropping your comments
