For women the man's
1. Financial Irresponsibility (No finance,no romance)
2. Cheating

For Men the woman's
1. Reckless financial spending (many men have set up business for their wife, yet the wife cannot account for =N=1)
2. Cheating

I met my husband back in UNN, we were both student politicians and there weren't many of us "born again" Christians interested in politics then so it was a small caucus. He started off as merely friends but given the rate at which he made those trips from Enugu to Nsukka Campus most weekends at a point I knew he was romantically interested in me. When I ran for speaker at my Faculty, he was a huge support. What was there not to love? He was handsome, well spoken, funny and extremely courageous. We eventually married in 2007 right after his NYSC and my own internship year.

Sixteen years down the line he still makes me laugh, we still have those heated PDP vs LP arguments and we are still each other's biggest supporter. I've thoroughly enjoyed the interdependency. We came from different backgrounds so the first few years were a learning curve. I grew up on campus with both professor parents, hardly went anywhere else, while he grew up all over Nigeria's Prison barracks. We've had to find middle ground on all the issues, spirituality, money, physical affection, children upbringing, luxury and trips etc. I'd marry him again in a heartbeat.

I feel real pity when I see how discouraged young people have become about marriage. I'm grateful I had the most positive outlook and it paid off. I would normally just jump and pass such topics but nowadays I try to take that risk and drop my own story so that those who need this positivity don't miss out. My own four children are all fast moving into their teens and I'd hate for them to only hear horror stories. I'm sure the cynics will still gather here to convince me that I'm just suffering, enduring and smiling. It's OK. Las Las, we will all be fine.❤

Many thanks for your response.

But that required consciousness about the existence of boundaries and repercussions (death inclusive) heightened the uneasiness and nervousness.

How could you function optimally in such a tensed environment. At Pg School in UI, 2003; 40% of my classmates came from Uniben including ladies with horrific tales and very close horrible experiences.

I am particular about Uniben, because it is our School with very bright and intelligent academic community. Thank you!
No one in Uniben especially if you leave in Ekosodin, you MUST experience cult oppression.

I personally don’t think he was a frat man. He might just be a Kegite member that stepped on someone’s toes.

In the six years I spent in that school, I never heard of a non Axe man member living inside school hostel, E nor go fit try am. Once they join rival cult groups, they move out of school campus to BDPA or Osasogie. And a non axe man can’t come into the hostel to kill an axe man. There’s a reason ayes call that school their temple. Except na Ayes kill one of their own
Lol! Who no go , no go know. When did you school in Uniben?

Jobs/Vacancies › Major Career Mistakes To Avoid by lavylilly(op): 1:40pm On Apr 03, 2023
Major Career Mistakes to Avoid

📌 Not having a clear career plan: Without a plan, you may drift aimlessly or get stuck in a role that doesn't align with your long-term aspirations.

📌 Staying in a job you hate: You spend a large portion of your life at work, so finding a job that aligns with your skills and interests and that you enjoy and find fulfilling is essential.

📌 Burning bridges: Building strong relationships with your colleagues and superiors is important for your career. Avoid gossiping, being rude or confrontational. Focus on being respectful, and professional, and building a positive rapport.

📌 Not networking: Building relationships with others in your industry is crucial for career advancement. Attend networking events, connect with others here on LinkedIn, and be proactive in reaching out to others.

📌 Not negotiating your salary: Many people fail to negotiate their salary, which can result in leaving money on the table. Research the market rate for your position and negotiate accordingly.

📌 Neglecting your professional development: Keeping your skills up to date is essential. Take courses, attend conferences, and participate in training programs to ensure you remain relevant in your field.

📌 Failing to prioritise work-life balance: A healthy work-life balance is critical for both your personal and professional well-being. Prioritise your mental health, family, and hobbies to avoid burning out or becoming too stressed.

Avoiding these career mistakes can help you achieve your professional goals and build a fulfilling and rewarding career.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Share Your Experience by lavylilly: 1:38pm On Apr 03, 2023
Well, I see this post from an angle of “lack of professionalism” the idea of the HR department is not for toxicity but transformation and resolution.

If any idea is brought to the table and it doesn’t suit well with you as an individual not an organization, there is need for proper COMMUNICATION so that everyone comes to an understanding.

Some people are stereotypes in thinking, they are never open to CHANGE that is why they feel the idea or suggestion for growth is meant to “pollute or attempt to pollute a system.”

Well to an extent you are correct, you just have to earn 5 times above minimum wage in a month and Cut Your Coat and accordingly. Nigeria uses minimum wage to cheat her citizens. A minimum wage that cannot buy one bag of rice is that one a minimum wage?

But the most important is to cut your coat accordingly... If you marry baby oku, even if you earn 1m a month she will tell you her friend uses 1m on her hair every month.
On a head that can't recite state & capital.
Politics › Re: Chinese Loans Rise By 209% Under Buhari, Hit $4 Billion by lavylilly: 8:19am On Apr 03, 2023
This good news
China could have no claim to Nigerian property, as all of such would be covered under the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

However the exception to this rule is when a nation incurrs debts in the course of a commercial transaction, the effect is that the sovereignty of that nation is waived with respect to its liability. That does not mean China can take ownership of Nigeria, but it means that China can lay claim to some assets belonging to Nigeria.

The only issue I have with this is that the particular property to be claimed is are too much.

This is why I'll never marry an average income earner because they can complain and press calculator? See all of them here. Calculator pressers.
That is why i advise men not to get married until they have a high income job, to avoid all this kind of headache but no, that small thing dangling under can't wait to start eating what the big boys are eating. They just jump enter marriage with 120k salary and start punching calculator here and there.

So when it comes to giving your wife money, mathematics go enter am?. You can't give her money to maintain that same body you mount every now and then? Na him you turn financial expert seeker/adviser.? SMH. This generation of men have lost it.

Na this kind things make marriage no dey hungry me again because if all a man can offer is to panel-beat my body and not care whether knots and bolts don dey loose or find it difficult to give me when I request, then ill rather live singularly, work and take care of myself without stress or any body knacking me up and down with no benefits or care. abi you wan dey chop me make i no chop you back? Damn! Na wa o.

Oga, give her pocket money. Na that one she go take know say she marry. Men are supposed to spend on their wife's, working class or not. That is why igbos name their wifes Oriakum, "eater of my wealth". It is your obligation to spend on her. I'm guessing you're Yoruba otherwise mouth no go gree you come talk this kind thing outside. I'm sure all your supporters here na Yoruba men. Kobojunkie number one.
