When a battle goes on for long enough, the gladiators often forget why it started at all.

More tasks shall be conceived and assigned to be done as soon as someone is idle

This was the IFA cast for the nation where all citizens are entitled to a means of livelihood

People who embark on a journey of no return are always launched by what they have in excess

It has nothing to do with your "cost of living crisis"!

Now you mention it though. Students in a country arrive in class after spending the night doing holy ghost prayer to be taught by teachers owed 3 months salary, compete with students who had a good nights sleep in their comfortable bed and arrive in class to be taught by competent satisfied teachers. Can you perhaps imagine the difference in their productivity when they grow up and start working, and would yiu pay them the same wage if they don't produce the same amounts?

Low income countries should sit up and learn to be more productive is what I'd think. But if they don't some countries' peoples would most definitely continue to emigrate to serve others elsewhere.
So you think it is because you are productive that you spend half of your income to pay rent? Companies monitor the cost of living in your city to determine how much to offer you. Not because you are more productive than your counterpart who works in Ibadan Nigeria

Thanks for educating me about per Capita income. I missed the difference.

Land in New York does not cost the same as land in say Makoko. In fact, land in GRA Ikeja does not cost the same as land in Makoko, so rent on houses built on either can not be the same I wouldn't think, since the total cost of building differs. And that's not even taking the difference in supply of amenities (light, water, good roads, local tax, neighbours even, and demand, etc) in different locations into consideration.

Just the availability of jobs and demand for housing can create a difference in rent. A 3 bedroom house in my own Orolu Kingdom would cost less than a room in a face to face in Lagos due to low demand alone, and I can't see why or how they'd be priced the same even if building costs were the same.
So the cost of living crisis should continue? North Korea should have a per Capita income of 1000 dollars or Burundi should have 300 dollars while some countries have over 100, 000 dollars? If it continues then some countries will only have an economy based on the service sector and not much else and that will be the high income countries. If all low income countries should sit up to organize themselves by increasing their tax to GDP ratio to work for their people and they are already sitting up then the service economies will start losing people to emigration. Who will want to stay in a country where people are slaving for the real estate investors?

Ok let me ask one final question. In 1960 when the west had a budget of 55 million pounds against the East's 12 million and the North's 7 million can that also be attributed to the contributions of other Nigerians in Lagos? Presently Lagos contains like 40 to 45 percent of the population of the SW.

I don't think children are calculated in household income unless you are farming them out for a wage, so the income of a family of 2 parents and 3 children will be $10k per annum at best.

As for your, "No country in reality needs up to three thousand dollars per annum in per capita income if the cost of living were what it should be", rent in New York for a family home is way more than three thousand dollars per month, and cost of living is what it is and not what one wishes it should be!
If you reread you will realize I did not use children for household income but for per Capita income. Everybody in the country is counted to arrive at per Capita income including children.
If the cost of living especially rent in New York were what it should be then the per Capita income in New York will not be more than three thousand dollars per annum. You should be able to see this because there is no reason why the same quality of housing in different parts of the world should be priced differently. So rent in New York and etc is not what it should be. I hope you see the point.
PoliticsWhat Does A One Trillion Dollar GDP Mean For Nigeria? by lawani(op): 11:14pm On May 01
What does a one trillion dollar GDP mean for Nigeria?

Assuming a population of 220 million people, it will mean the per Capita income will be around 5000 dollars per annum and what this means is that the average family of five comprising of two bread winners and three children will have a house hold income of around twenty five thousand dollars per annum before tax. Now, some households will make lower than that and high net worth households will make more while ultra high net worth individuals will make far more but the average will be around that amount.

Twenty five thousand dollars changed to naira at 1350 is around 33 million naira per annum meaning the average pay of husband and wife in a family will be around sixteen million naira per annum or around 1.3 million naira per month.

In a Nigeria of one trillion dollar GDP, the average worker will have a salary of around 1.3 million naira per month whereas presently the average Nigerian does not earn up to 300 thousand naira per month and they are surviving. Nigeria has the highest number of private jets in Africa. Nigeria imports luxury goods, expensive wines, luxury cars and etc probably more than any country in Africa since they can have the highest number of private jets in Africa and etc

It is easy to see that Nigeria does not need up to one trillion dollars in GDP and if Nigeria should have up to that in GDP then the average Nigerian will be living like Kings and Queens because what does a family of five need over thirty million naira per annum for in Nigeria? The cost of living in Nigeria is not high enough to justify that

High GDP and high per Capita income that you hear of in high income countries is made possible or it becomes unavoidable only because of the high cost of living in those countries especially the cost of rent.

No country in reality needs up to three thousand dollars per annum in per capita income if the cost of living were what it should be.

Nigeria does not need up to one trillion dollars in GDP for a population of around 220 million people unless the cost of living spirals out of control.

I don't know why you guys always talk about salary, how many Nigerians are doing salary work, more than 60 percent of Nigerians are self employed and most of them are doing businesses that make more than 100k per day
There are maybe 60 to 70 million Nigerians earning income
Federal civil servants maybe one million
States maybe 1million
Local government maybe one million
All banks maybe one million
There are thousands of small businesses like hotels, gas stations, bakeries, pure water factories, super markets, hospitals, saw mills, factories and etc all needing salaried workers. It is safe to assume most income earners are salary earners though many also have side hustles and many are artisans.

The Yoruba are in PH the same way Igbo are in Lagos. Only difference is Lagos is around three times the population of PH. In the SE Enugu, Onitsha, Owerri are all cosmopolitan and there are things there which if you want to do will be done for you most probably by a Yoruba person. The Yoruba don't want anybody to go back to their region because non Yoruba in Yoruba land can't be up to the number of Yorubas scattered around the cosmopolitan cities of Nigeria and west Africa.

that 100k you are talking about can only meet his primary needs! Even in a place like Lagos, how do you expect such a person to live in a personal room where rents for an average room self con is worth over 500k a year, open your eyes man! That money can only be ok for someone who has no pursuit and who still lives with someone.
If you are on minimum wage say in the UK and can not save anything, how are you better than someone earning 100k per month in Nigeria who is saving 40k per month? The person in Nigeria can become financially independent in a few years if they carefully invest and monitor it before the person not able to save is able to find their feet. Don't advise any young graduate around you to refuse a job offer of 100k for a start if they can save

I disagree.

If you live in a place like Ibadan or Kwara, that 100k is enough to sustain a bachelor for the month, feeding and rent inclusive. But if you're married with, at least 2 kids, I don't know how you can do that.

Truly, rent is paid yearly but the least accomodation in a modest Lagos environment now goes for a minimum of 200k per annum, and that must be on the bush-like suburb. Not even when Lagos landlords have started the madness of increasing rent every year.
You are saying the same thing yet you say you disagree? If a bachelor then it is ok for a start but not for a family person. Especially in a second tier city as you said. As a bachelor you will still save out of that amount if you are frugal.

How I will approach the Dangote refinery if I were President.

I will get the national assembly to approve at least one hundred million dollars as grant to the Dangote Group so that the group can own at least one hundred million dollars worth of equity in the Dangote refinery without needing loans then the group can then add their own funds but the majority of the refinery stakeholders must be investors who are okay with even less than two percent per annum. It does not matter where they come from or who they are. This is the only way the refinery can be of real benefit to the economy of Nigeria.. With this arrangement the price of pms will not be up to twenty percent of the price in the USA.

No government should support an arrangement where the masses pay three times what they should be paying whether for rice, sugar, cement or cassava.

The government should always support daring entrepreneurs in the way I suggest Alhaji Dangote's Dangote Group should be supported. If the Dangote group is supported in this way then maybe more people will break more grounds in other sectors of the economy as he did in the oil sector.

Will the Boer in South Africa eventually become Negroes? A glimpse into speciation

The answer is Yes and the change is already in motion. A people will always have overtime a phenotype that matches their habitat.

White couples will give birth to black children and the DNA will be correct as the baby will match the parents while the baby will also be physically indistinguishable from black south Africans that match the habitat. This will happen frequently because nature knows what is best for us and overtime there will be no white people left in South Africa while their DNA will still say they have European ancestry. The change happens fully in one generation, so it is not evolution but adaptation.

There is at least one recorded occurrence in the twentieth century, it is therefore not science fiction.

Phenotype change can happen in one generation and if one species will become another species, it will also happen in one generation and not via the much hyped evolution which no one has ever observed

The other Edoid speaking people mixed with the Yoruba more than the ancestors of the present day Benin but the present day Benin have taken over the new city of Benin.
Now there are hundreds of not thousands of Benin stories in Yoruba history contained in the ifa corpus, you should therefore not expect the Yoruba to forget or overlook all that just because the current majority language of Benin city is a strange tongue to them. If Germany and Austria were merging they will certainly not share seats 50/50 and they will not make Austria fund the union more than Germany is funding it.

There is nothing wrong with universal adult suffrage when there is no census fraud but in Nigeria where the foundation census say Fulani are over half of the Hausa in population and Igbo outnumber the Yoruba, then the regions containing those populations must show workings by generating revenue otherwise let everybody stay on their own. PoliticsThe Revenue Drive Faultline At The Beginning Of Nigeria by lawani(op): 3:19am On Apr 30
The revenue drive fault line at the beginning of Nigeria.

The North sure can pay more taxes than the south in Nigeria but they need to pay it as just having the potential is not enough. The south during negotiations at independence should not have agreed for the North to automatically produce half of the representation at the center unless they measured up by revenue. You have to measure up to earn your pedestal. According to AI, western Nigeria had a budget of 55 million pounds in 1960, the East had 12 million pounds and the North had nine million pounds.

It was a huge mistake for the western region to agree to go into the Nigerian union without demanding that others measure up with revenue according to the economic activities within their borders or territory. If they had measured up, then they would have been able to afford free and compulsory education too as well as universal healthcare
The size of the economy and the revenue gotten therefrom is the main wherewithal of a nation.

Nigeria is still suffering today from the unequal yoking together of different nations that were at different levels of economic organization. The level of organization must be the same before a land can be called a nation or before the land can uniformly succeed as a nation.

Strange statistics in Nigeria

Despite that NIN registration figures put Ogun state at double of Osun in population, Osun state ends up having a similar number of banks and hotels registered in the state with Osun a bit higher.

Despite that Anambra by NIN statistics is only a bit higher in population than Osun or Imo state, Anambra ends up having four times the number of registered auto dealerships of each of the two states and double the number registered in Oyo state. The number of the registered auto dealerships in Anambra is second only to Lagos.

Kano despite being the highest in population in the North is number nine in the North in maize production.

Despite the size of the North, the volume of maize produced in the region is around the same as that of the south.

Despite that Oyo state's capital Ibadan is ranked fourth among Nigeria's cities, the state as a whole still has the second highest number of registered hotels in Nigeria, Lagos being the number one.

Despite that Oyo state by NIN registration figures have just double Anambra's population, the number of registered poultry farms in Oyo state is ten times that of Anambra.

Why would the GAC endorse Hamzat if they are not avoiding direct primaries?
How much would it cost APC to have direct primaries now?
Would it not cost over 300 million?

So why would they not refund Ajose 50 million x2 which is 100 million and get him to sign the consensus agreement and avoid spending 300 million+ on the direct primaries?

Nobody apart from you is talking about winning primaries.

Ajose is the smartest businessman in Nigeria in the last 24 hours, his 50 million investment is about to double, sure 2 odds.

Now, the electoral law says that a consensus agreement must be agreed in writing by all candidates.
Ajose will simply refuse to sign and insist on direct primaries, APC/GAC body odour is smelling consensus Hamzat, dem must settle Ajose or do direct primaries.

There is even another more dangerous reason the GAC is trying to avoid direct primaries, the Ambode factor....

Anyway it goes, Ajose don cashout, to him to hell with whoever wins the primaries, no be him bizness, na win win for am.
