GboyegaD: We don't have a low revenue challenge, or challenge is embezzlement and corruption. Most of the middle easy countries developed on oil revenue. We have always had a low revenue to GDP challenge in Nigeria which is no longer serious now courtesy the current government but it is still there. Stop parading lies as truth. Revenue. Mention the ones with low government revenue or budget to GDP ratio that is a successful country. Tax sometimes can be an insignificant component of revenue |

Oga you earn 6m yearly you are in poverty, you cannot afford the basic things of life, you just eat, sleep and nack the mrs at home, what quality of life can the person enjoy? After paying rent, feeding, transport cost, school fees, utilities etc money don finish, na to start to borrow money left right and center, abi why do you think they call naija abegistan? Gosh it is so bad these days. Yesterday my bedroom TV broke so I rushed down to fouani on Allen to get a replacement, they were not opened so I entered cash and carry. Omo the begging level was crazy, after testing the TV while putting it back in box the sales guy started asking me to find him something, I told him straight what kind of rubbish is this, is that how they operate here, if not next time I will rather go elsware, that was not the end, the lady giving the warrantee paper at the entrance started begging, I got to the car, the gate en were all begging, Haba! Real abegistan! The begging I assume is to make additional income because their salaries is certainly not enough. I understand entering buses cost as high as 1k a drop, imagine spending 5k daily on transport to work and feeeing, so if they beg well enough maybe they can use that to sort out transport and feeding cost so they do it aggressively. Who is this one? What about in the USA where you must tip when you buy things? Did they force you? In the US if you don't tip them, they will feel offended. Also, it is more honourable to beg than to go into crime but it is better for everyone to be well paid and not depend on tips. If you can afford to buy a new TV on a whim, what is the big deal in giving a small amount of money as a tip? |

carzeem1: They are talking about income earners you are mentioning civil servants? Like are you serious ?
Most Civil servants are glorified paupers nowadays, unless the ones part of office rackets or contract inflation, diversion of gov funds etc.
Directors in ministries payroll earn about 1.2mil/m after over 25 years of service and lots of politicking. How do they pay their children's fees home and abroad, build houses support nuclear and extended families on 1.2 million Mind you the deputy cadre is about half of that amount. Civil service is a cesspool of corruption that no government can clean up. You can't use them as a yardstick. Back to the topic, 15 million is an okay income nowadays, it only gives you enough freedom to deploy your mind into earning better income. But you can't afford to be comfortable on 15 million, you will be shocked in no time. There is no country where the most senior civil servants can be described as poor people. From what I read on Claude only about 1% of Nigerians earn up to that amount in a year. I don't think it's right to use a 1% categorization to generalize an argument sir. The AI is wrong. QuinQ: Very good summary. Where you failed is "No matter any clause that is in any constitution".
The only way you can ignore a constitution is through force of arms. Either you change the constitution legally or you set it aside by force. That someone said "No Victor no, vanquiched" has nothing to do with the constitution The current constitution is illegal and people have been raising the alarm for years. If nothing is done by those that should do something then they know that some other people will come sooner than later to do the right thing by force. It is only a matter of time. They may not break Nigeria immediately as was planned by Major Orkar but they will not force it together too. At best or at worst, there will be a timetable for breakup Thank God for the USA as well as other onlooking powers |

Princedapace: The west made u believe Russia is corrupt, they play. And Russia has low income tax rate. They rely heavily on VAT. I have said that again and again, a resource rich country should focus more in VAT than income tax. A crazy 25 percent income tax for such a poor country is evil. I have explained that ur money has lost value. So, in your 20m per year, govt considers u as a high earner, but u are not. The money has become useless. Focus on VAT. Look at this statement: "Why Russia's Income Tax is Kept LowState Revenue Structure: Russia is a resource-rich nation. The federal budget relies heavily on taxes and duties from oil, gas, and other natural resource exports rather than relying on citizens’ paychecks" Can u see? This is exactly what Nigeria should be doing because it is rich. Tax the natural resources, more. Leave the income people make. Tax VAT when people spend their money. That is better taxation. The aggrevated taxation by Tinubu is old model, UK driven, colonial driven, wicked and slavery. A resource rich country should invest to system that will help them convert their lithium into finished batteries and sell to earn money, okay? . Tax is tax. Nigeria is presently close to 15 percent now and VAT is not yet collected properly not to talk of PIT but you can't get a high enough tax to GDP without doing PIT. |

Ttalk: I quite agree with you and want to emphasis that the Southern leaders both from the Eastern region and the Western region were complacent and very parochial in their position, there wa no justification at all to have allowed the north to be joined to the South, there was n basis for it that it will benefit the future southerners.
Fast forward to 1979 constitution that was crafted to favour the north and later fused to into the 1999 constitution that has been the albatross of the crises bedeviling the country today,
The question is what were the Southern leaders thinking that made them agree to a worthless document that only favour one section of the country.
It is on this premises that a one should conclude that the Southern leaders only acted to suit their parochial and persona interest at the expense of the Southern populace.
Presently, the same selfishness is driving the Southern leaders and their lackey followers who abandon the pressing danger the South face in the hand of the Fulani that are killing, maiming and taking the land of the indigenous people of the country.
For how long will the South continue to look helplessly when it is glaring that the agenda is to subjugate the South and overun them
What stops the Southern leaders from taken a decisive decision over the killing and kidnapping of their people buy declaring to go their way if the killins is not stopped?
What future is the present Southern leaders building for their generation unborn?
Like past leader, like the current ones, the Southern have failed if they can't agree to put a permanent stop to the insecurity in Nigeria. Yes, I blame the South for enduring abnormality when it is clear that it will only get worse. There was even no justification for joining the East to the west on an equal footing considering the variance in revenue. It is like joining the US to Canada today and giving both the same representation in the federal government. It is true between the East and the west not to talk of between the North and the south. They ought to generate the revenue co-measurate with the share of seats they expect at the center. If they can't, it can only mean the people are not there to be taxed. |

Probably u are among those who read headlines. 30m supposed to be more than enough to live comfortably well in Nigeria but due to the current state of things, it is now struggle except U are willing to cut down on Ur standard of living. To go off grid comfortably will cost U nothing less than 10m now. Hope U know that. Like I said if U have family, just know U will struggle to stay comfortable. Yes. Know how much fueling a V6 car cost alone per month, start from there and know how much is left in Ur monthly income. So the problem is not 30m, the problem is inflation. Yes, a person earning 30m per year should be able to fly with ease but not anymore. These are the issues. You will not struggle unless you live in the highbrow areas of Lagos, Abuja or PH where an insignificant number of Nigerians live or unless you are not a good manager. You will always struggle if you can't handle money. You can't afford ten million naira to go off-grid but 30 million naira a year is too low for you as income? |

Another perspective on the Nigerian civil war
Someone on social media, a lady, pointed out that the No Victor no vanquished posture of the federal government after the Biafran surrender should have meant that Biafra would be allowed to secede if they want.
This actually is true because Nigeria was not created by force. It started as a voluntary union and if some stake holders back then did not want the union, then it would not have been formed. It was formed because people back then were enthusiastic about the union. Sir Macaulay the acknowledged founder of Nigerian nationalism once made a statement to the effect that as his moustache can not be separated from him, so will Northern and Southern Nigeria remain inseparable. He had plans and a vision for a big nation because of the advantages.
However the North was the first to threaten a breakup during negotiations prior to independence. Sir Ahmadu Bello publicly exclaimed that the mistake of 1914 has come to light referring to the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates of 1914. Dr Azikiwe calmed him by saying we should forget our differences. The Northern delegates during negotiations said they will only agree to join the union if they get the PM position as well as half the federal seats and the westerners and Easterners agreed. This was a mistake especially for the western region because the budget of the western region was up to three times or thereabouts of the combination of the budgets of the East and the North as at 1960. The western state's budget was 55 million pounds, East 12 million pounds and the North 7 million pounds in 1960.
The union started having problems immediately. The leadership of the West was in opposition while the East and North's leadership were ruling. By 1963, the leadership of the West that were the opposition were in prison for treasonable felony purportedly aided by Kwame Nkrumah's Ghana.
There was a coup in 1966 led by Easterners and political leaders were massacred by young soldiers. A military head of state of Eastern origin became the head of state after the coup failed and as a result of what many call his own technical coup. There was then a counter coup led by Northerners after six months in which the head of state and the western governor were assassinated. The war cry then was Araba by the Northern soldiers which means separation especially after many Igbos had been massacred in the North by Northern mobs responding to the massacre of their leaders during the first coup. The Northerners that led the second coup were originally no longer interested in one Nigeria even as there were no Igbos in the North again. That was the second attempt to break up the country. However on reflection and on consultation with politicians and diplomats and after a short power vacuum, the most senior military man, General Ogundipe a Yoruba and westerner took up appointment in the Nigerian embassy in the UK and allowed the next person in rank that was trusted by the coup plotters in person of Lt Col Gowon who was chief of Army staff to resume as head of state.
The second coup was not successful in the East and Colonel Ojukwu the governor of the East understandably declared that he will not go anywhere where there are Northern soldiers for any kind of meeting. Aburi, Ghana was therefore agreed upon by Lagos and Enugu as a neutral venue for a meeting.
At Aburi, both parties signed an agreement on several things including that no major decision will be taken without all governors agreeing.
However the FG later decided to create new states and the East did not agree for any new state to be created out of the East while those that asked for those states in the East agreed. There was actually an armed struggle for one of such states before the military head of state General Ironsi was assassinated during the second coup
The East then declared independence from Nigeria in order to preserve the integrity of it's territory. The new state was called Biafra. Some indigenes of the states created out of Biafra served in the Biafran forces while others joined the federal forces.
After almost three years of struggle and after Biafra opened a new war front that drew into the war the western and Midwestern regions of Nigeria leading to an amphibious landing of the Nigerian army at Calabar and after a blockade that led to hundreds of thousands of death, the Biafran forces were forced to surrender.
The FG proclaimed a policy of No Victor No vanquished. Going back to the comment of the lady I read on social media awhile back, the true no Victor no vanquished posture should mean that after the Biafran surrender, the whole of Eastern Nigeria would then be free. Biafra can remain but without forcing any land to be part of it. No matter any clause that is in any constitution, the fact is that the North could have seceded in 1959 as well as in 1967 or 1966 because Nigeria was formed voluntarily even with enthusiasm and it was never meant to be what it has become today.
There were many coups after the civil war and all were led by Northerners as they dominated the army. One led by Major Gideon Orkar a Christian Northerner had a coup speech that broke up Nigeria but the coup failed and he was arrested and executed.
There have been a total of four attempts to break up Nigeria. Three from the North and one from the old Eastern region without counting the attempts by Boko Haram and others. |

MEGAWATCH: But some Yorubas are in UK contesting for various positions and if they have this kind of mentality, I wonder if they will not send your people home.
That same period you were talking about was when the first mayor of Enugu was a Northerner and everything changed immediately Awolowo introduce trabalism into Nigerian politics. Open your brain and understand. It would be wrong for a Yoruba person contesting to be Premier of the East to be accusing Igbos contesting against him from another party of tribalism, it may even be wrong if they are in the same party because are they his slaves to not be able to contest in their own region?. You claim a Yoruba was elected in PH. Were Igbos not elected in Lagos? Even Ijaws were elected in Lagos as well as Calabar but a Yoruba elected in PH as a councilor or Mayor to you means Yoruba must let Igbo be their Premier?. To determine their fate?. What did Azikiwe ever do for the Yoruba to merit that honor? There were PhD holders in Yoruba land at that time who were old enough to be Azikiwe's father. In an Ijesa state, an Ibadan man can not just come and say Ijesas must be nationalists and make an Ibadan the governor when the Ibadan have their own governor already and the Ibadan are directly in competition with the Ijesa. I think this is basic common sense but you don't understand it. Before 1951 shortly after the death of Macaulay, the NCNC turned against the Yoruba in the Nigerian railways and etc also with Azikiwe's newspapers and the Yoruba would have preferred a British man to be their Premier than Azikiwe or why an Igbo man and not a British man? What is the essence of the new independence? All these are easy to reason out. Then if I were a member of Awolowo's family I would sue you for damages for calling my ancestor a bad name for doing no wrong or for pursuing a legitimate ambition. However if they were in the same party and Azikiwe was his party leader you would have been making a tiny bit more sense In conclusion the idea that no one should have opposed Azikiwe or that anyone with an ambition same as his is a tribalist is not well thought out |

Is that not something that is up to the individuals?
Some of you lack commonsense. Do you want them to be boasting of having taken over a state where they can't win even one percent of elective posts? However in this Nigeria, Igbos have not necessarily won more elections nor been given more political appointments outside their land than the Yoruba. It is only the approach that is different and in a place like the North there are whole compounds in different cities established by ancient Yorubas whose descendants are now indigenes of those cities as they no longer have known relatives in Yoruba land. |

🔥🔥🔥 Awo was not in the NCNC. He was entitled to be Premier in his own region. It is not right to say Awo was wrong to have an ambition to be Premier of the west just because an Igbo man in another party had the same ambition. He probably had the ambition before going to London to study law The idea that all Yoruba should have shelved their ambition of being Premier in their own region because of Azikiwe is very very pedestrian |

SecretofDNA: Africa has lots of wild animals, let me be specific in the type of animals, I meant wild animals like hyenas, venomous snakes and insects, lions, Hippos, chimps, crocodiles and animals that you come across could end fatally. The United States has no such wild animals except in remote places. I'm sure not to downgrade modem Africa as most cities don't have wild animals but outside the city, yes. But I'm talking not about your views on reincarnation being modern but beliefs passed down in your family from thousands of years. Maybe you have verified them yourself which means you think scientifically but the beliefs belong to your ancestors from long ago. So I wasn't referring to modern Africa when I said your beliefs Echo your environment. Let's say your environmental history.
Science is not exclusive to Africa but it varies place to place in the type and depth of science. Africa has developed prediction science to a 100 percent accuracy. Their abilities to see into unseen realms and see far away as in remote viewing is unmatched. Their herbal medicine is top notch. Not well invested in like it should be but it's up there with Chinese medicine and Indigenous American. You are not correct. A place like the USA will have more animals including wild ones than west Africa that is of a comparable population. West Africa too like the US don't have wild animals except in remote places Belief in reincarnation is not peculiar to Africa. It occurs all over the world. Traditional spirituality is basically the same all over the world. All cultures have divination with varying levels of sophistication with which they make predictions and reveal secrets. If something is well developed in England, you don't just say it was developed by Europe, same applies to Africa. Then people who live in the rainforests unlike people who live in deserts will naturally know how to use herbs, roots and etc but all people's know how to use things that occur naturally in their habitats. Then magic exists that can be used for viewing anything that happened anywhere on Earth at any time in the past and the magic can be taught to anybody just like any other thing can be taught. Considering the distance between them, people in Mali, Niger and etc will be more similar to Southern Europeans genetically than they are to South Africans. Therefore Africa really does not exist as it is nothing more than Southern Europe |

What I am saying is that they have not invested much and also contributed much to their communities to earn consideration for elective position.
Yorubas who on rare cases own properties outside southwest, 98% of the times, sell them off when they leave the place. They generally do not retain them, unlike the Igboman. Go al over southsouth and check. In this age of AI? Ask AI the names of successful Yoruba business men in the SE that are dollar millionaires. SecretofDNA: Do you ever wonder if your beliefs are echo chambers of your African environment, such as living so close to abundance of animals could explain why you believe incarnating as an animal as hell?
Our minds as J2 haplagroup have been shaped by thousands of years of Middle Eastern ancestors who saw the world as an extension of God's infinite light. The E equals mc squared or Energy/Creation equals mass times the speed of light squared echoes our ancient mediation and prayer rituals upon Ein Sof. Everything, man, animals, trees, sand, oceans and mountains, clouds, sun and moon and planets are made of defractured light. I was always fascinated with Einstein theory of relativity because I keow my bloodline. Being without light is hell for me.
I don't discount African science but it is a different model based entirely upon spirit but also echoes their hostile jungle environment. Life as a male hyena is hell. I agree with you incarnated as one it is a serious demotion. No. I got my readings adequately and animals are not more abundant in Africa than other places. What makes you think so? There might be more animals per human being in a typical European country than in a typical west African country for instance. They keep more pets and have more farm animals per capita. Then there is no reason to believe there could have been people in the middle east at anytime while there were no people in Africa or even south America. .Regions on the same latitude and lower will have equally all life equivalents at anytime There is no science exclusive to Africa. No African science. Science is science. My own findings are mine and not mainstream anywhere though belief in reincarnation cuts across all human cultures but not the details of how it works. Then the animal realm is more like none existence. It isn't hell. Hell is for punishment but no matter what you have done, other spirits don't want you to go down according to my findings |

Christlike01: Mr Lawani, know this for a fact— Igbo people won't be allowed to represent us in any part of Yorubaland. Trust me,we are very intentional about it going forward— it won't just happen again. Whichever political party fields an Igbo has its flag bearer in any part of Yorubaland will lose.
The underbelly of your idea of "representation" is trust. This is your statement: "You can choose whoever you trust to represent you at any level." Now,the truth is that,we (Yoruba) don't trust the igbo— same way they don't trust us. Therefore,Igbo can't be elected to represent any part of yorubaland— dead on arrival! So you think that fight is more important than the fight to give the SW 45 senators that they merit if the SE has 15? The constitution allows Igbo to contest anywhere and the Yoruba to contest anywhere but members of either group can not win anywhere unless locals and others vote for them. They can't win with votes from their people alone since there is no land allocated to Igbo in Yoruba land or to Yoruba in Igbo land where they call the shot and dominate. Igbo votes alone can not win anything for Igbo anywhere in the SW so it isn't something to get worked up over. The right fight is the one for the correct representation |

Elusive001: Bros, name the businesses. Name one school and one hospital. Which car businesses bros? Igbo land is near to Yoruba land and they have cities. It is a given that successful Yoruba live there as they live in London, New York, Accra and etc. Many things can take a Yoruba to the SE from marriage to NYSC to job opportunities, artisanship and hundreds of other reasons. So how will some of them not be successful? I can list up to three I know that are dollar millionaires despite that I don't live in the SE but I will not mention anyone's name. If there are clearly three dollar millionaires that I have heard of, how much more those who are silent? If there are 500 dollar millionaires in the East or even one thousand and there are three Yorubas among them, is that not enough answer to your question? |

Christlike01: You guys will regret your action in a not too distant time— fingers crossed. Ikere people are naive— they just proved it. How are they naive? Nothing wrong in what they did. You are responsible to who you represent and the man may not even be Igbo as it is not only Igbos that bear Okoro. Even Yoruba bear it as well as some other groups. The op maybe wrong as the name Okoro isn't enough reason to say the man is an Igbo man. What the Yoruba need to fight for is representation that shows their true percentage of total population or a representation by tax paid. You can choose whoever you trust to represent you at any level. In Ibadan, the traditional constitution allows anybody to become the King |

Elusive001: Bros give us examples of good and thriving businesses owned by Yorubas in the southeast. Tell us their sizes. Schools, hospitals, car dealerships and etc are those not businesses? How many Igbo businesses in Lagos employ up to 200 people?. I don't stay in the East but I have been there and I met Yoruba who are HNIs. There are Yoruba there who are dollar millionaires and how many dollar millionaires exist in the SE? Maybe 500 |

Elusive001: The question should have been, can your peeps, southwest, invest in southeast or north as much as he invested in southwest? Even in southsouth, what are your peeps investments?
Most southwesterners have properties in the southsouth as long as they live and work their. Once they retire or are transferred, they sell off everything. Yoruba that have business in Igbo land and are successful do not leave the place. Some have been there since before the second world war. Why will you leave somewhere where you are entrenched, where all your customers are? There are Igbos who sell off everything in the west too and leave for the East. There is no available statistics that shows there are more Igbo controlled investments in the west than Yoruba investments in the old Eastern region. The way Igbo exists in Lagos is how Yoruba exists in PH and the way Igbo exist in Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ilorin etc there are Yoruba in Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Onitsha etc |

SecretofDNA: . A spirit belongs to two different types of family. Earth and spiritual family.
I read something like this before in Isis papyrus from the Nubian period that we belong to a physical family and a soul family. There was a seer I consulted recommended by a doctor associate he told me she was very accurate, indeed she was. She told me the exact same thing that we belong to two families, she said sometimes souls travel together and sometimes not. Before the modern era my Hebrew ancestors believed in reincarnation in a way but not similar model but different. Basically there is so much too learn in the world that one life is not enough to teach a soul ascension. I also believe hell is real too that a soul is put in a time out for fighting with God. When a soul thinks its light is separate from God who is the source of light that soul pushes away from into the darkness. There the soul's light is overcome by intense darkness and isolation.
There is an experiment with a absolute sound proof room and no light can enter. People are challenged how long can they stand to be in the room even promised money but no one can stand more than one hour. It is that terrifying being absolutely cut off from everything. According to Ein Sof this is what hell is. According to my personal research which I did painstakingly, there is no hell but spirits get demoted in empathy rank every time it's child on Earth deliberately do evil and gets promoted each time for things like a worthy PhD thesis or the equivalent and winning a spiritual debate whose gestation period is two years and etc. There are six empathy ranks and if a spirit is demoted while on the last rank then it will pass out of civilization in heaven and on Earth, it will start incarnating as an animal losing all connections to it's heavenly and Earthly families. Therefore spirits die but they don't go to hell. A spirit's family members, friends, compatriots and etc will however do all they can to save it from such a fate. Those are my findings |
