My brother was formerly contemplating to propose to her but on a second thought we in the family are indifferent on the tribal issue, mom has warned us(the boys in the family) never to bring in a yoruba lady i wouldn't blame her tho she had seen a lot from the yoruba's and detest the tribe so much i myself has a limit to which i associate with the ones i know and dosen't commit any serious friendship with them. The problem now is my brother has been trying every possible means to break up with this lady but is not yielding any positive result and the lady is so committed to the relationship and love my brother so much. pls nairalanders help out, which possible way/method can he use to break up with the yoruba lady without hurting her feelings and emotion
Cc;lalasticlala Your brother and you, his adviser, are wicked set of people. When he knew from the beginning that you would rather go with your parents opinion rather than love, he should have avoided the lady like a plague. Now after wasting her time, her energy and love, he wants to turn around and dump her. Her maker will avenge for her. It's not about her tribe now. asuustrike2009: It is out of pride that university of Lagos wasn't renamed. Aside that The Federal university in Ebony is a new one so changing it's name is no big deal. We have the likes of UNN but it was not renamed. Haven't you wonder why UNN wasn't changed? Leave the ranters to bear their own woes. Why will you compare Unilag to Federal University Ebonyi. When OAU was renamed from Uniife, it was easy cos of two reasons, 1. the contribution of Awolowo to education was unrivaled. 2. It was done shortly after he passed on in 1987. The Ebonyi renaming followed similar pattern. The school is still young and the renaming was done during the burial of Ekwueme. For Unilag, the renaming was very ill-thought. It was too political. Plus University of Lagos name has grown over many decades. Jonathan wanted to score cheap political point in South West and the SW people would have none of it... Imagine that OBJ dies today, and they decide to change University of Ibadan to Olusegun Obasanjo University. Dem no go try am. They will pick the new Federal University in Ekiti to rename. Yoruba people have a clear conscience. They know their rights from their left. You can't come from Jupiter, and claim to be fighting Oodua Cause. You havent engaged with the people. Is that how it is done in Igbo land? Sorry it doesn't work like that in Yoruba land. It is clear. Someone is paying these guys to do what they are doing. Some people want the govt to cling to fear that all nationalities are resolute about leaving Nigeria because they lost power and influence in the current govt. If we must agitate about leaving Nigeria, we should have done so under Jonathan, who was a Southerner as President. They all kept quiet and didnt feel the need to leave Nigeria until a Northerner became the president. I am not saying there are no wrong doing and imbalance in the system, I am saying don't fall for these guys, who are working behind the scene to create confusion that will give them advantage. In Yoruba land, such will not work. |
Politics › Re: Lere Olayinka Analyzes Photos Of President Buhari With Oyegun & Governors by lawbabs: 12:00pm On Jul 26, 2017 |
dickt: Lere Olayinka, the Media Aide to the embattled Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has on Monday, released a shocking photo to Post-Nigeria, allegedly debunking the All Progressives Congress’s, APC, purported visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, in London.
Recall, that the Special Assistant to the President, Femi Adesina, had on Sunday night, released a statement that some APC Governors, including the Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, met with Buhari, in London, on Sunday.
He had added that, the APC’s delegation spent more than an hour with Buhari over lunch, and it was very clear from the discussions, that he followed developments at home very closely.
He said the President was delighted to receive the delegation, and asked each Governor about affairs in his State.
He also asked Amaechi, about the state of the railways, among others, thereby rubbishing Sahara Reporters’ story, that Buhari had suffered from memory loss.
Adesina went as far as releasing pictures of the delegation having lunch with the President, including the one taken alone by the delegation, without Buhari.
While reacting to the news when Post-Nigeria finally got in touch with Fayose’s Aide, he faulted the authenticity of the picture, by forwarding the discrepancies of the photos to Post-Nigeria.
Lere Olayinka in a piece exclusively forwarded to Post-Nigeria wrote:
”1. Two pictures taken the same day and same venue, APC Chairman, Odigie Oyegun’s dress is different. Why?
”2. Pay more attention to the images in the MIRROR. Why is the different in style of caps of two of the images in the MIRROR, from the photograph?”
He finally added: ”Just using my brain and you can use yours too. Anyway, let’s wish our President soonest recovery.”
Recall, that The Ovation Magazine Publisher, Dele Momodu, had earlier stated that he called Amaechi, to confirm the authenticity of the visit.
However, Political Analysts have been asking when did Buhari decide to have one hour meeting with the APC delegation, whereas when Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, visited, it was allegedly reported that the Acting President, was only allowed to spend 5 minutes with him.
Buhari left the country on May 7, for medical treatment in the British capital.
This is the second time the President will be embarking on a medical vacation this year.
http://www.post-nigeria.com/exclusive-fayose-breaks-silence-on-buharis-sudden-appearance-releases-shocking-photo-to-the-world-exposes-amaechi-el-rufai-blatant-lies/ My response to Fayose's aid: 1. Oyegun had two coats. One is a big overall (cream winter jacket), the other is just a grey blazers. So if you're dumb, then ask someone to figure the meaning of that. 2. Why is it that the cameraman's image is not seen in the mirror when he is not directly opposite the mirror? Only images that the mirror captures based on the direction of the photographer, and his height, will be seen. If that is not understandable to Lere. Mr Lere, if that is not still clear, go back to school. Dumb analysis by Lere Alainironu Olayinka |

Christianity Etc › Re: Biodun Fatoyinbo: A Pastor With So Much Swags by lawbabs: 6:07am On May 15, 2017 |
9jakohai: Sorry, but this thread shows how much problems Christianity gets in Nigeria
One of the best preachers I heard in my life was a semi-illiterate man who did not speak English well, worked as an artisian, and on the day he came to speak in the chruch my family was attending 10 years ago, spoke wearing one faded shirt and black trouser that thad seen better days. Yet I was blessed in one hour hearing this man speak.
What am I saying. I am not saying that Christian leaders should dress badly...that in tiself can become a source of pride. I am saying that we should look at ourselves as Christians by not how much swag we have, or how cool we look, but how much we wear Christ over our bodies.
The pastor is cool because he get swag? Is that what makes a good pastor? How is his level of abiding in CHirst? How are the fruits he is producing.?
Does God raise men and women into his service...so that we can praise them, and talk about how good and handsome they look....aor does he raise men and women into his service so that they can lift God higher...while they themselves decrease?
Nigerians should stop practicing outward Christianity. Because that is not true Christianity....it is false Chrsitianity. The reasons why we do not prosper as a nation is because Chrisitans love their Super-Star Pastors (and Politiical leaders) more than they love Christ. It is because the image of the Pastor as a Super Powered Super Hero, saving the world from sickness, poverty and destruction is bigger than the image of the Glorified Father and Creator of the world....that is why Christianity in Nigeria is on the road to perdition.
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy unclothedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Rev 3 vs 14-19
Let the words to the Church of Ladoicea be our warning.
Glory to God. God bless you! And I hope he has repented after the Ese saga. Some of the problems with these swags pastors is lack of discipleship. They don't have an elder (pastoral), who fears the Lord and will tell them the truth. They just go and start a ministry once they can preach and talk eloquently... that's why new generation Christians don't have spiritual substance anymore. It's all about swaga, networking, motivation, business, fun, comedy, etc. |
