2posh: Thanks for this.
Are you under SVP? I understand that with SVP, there's no need for proof of finances/evidence of funds.
Please has anyone here, under SVP, received their visa without providing bank statements? heaps had... As long as its not in your checklist, you don't need to provide it, they reserve the right to ask for it though. ... |

bb64: thank you for this great advice. please what sort of work can be quickly sort for immediately as one landed in Aussie on student visa? how long does it take to sort for job? secondly, What is d eligibility of one's spouse . is there any requirements for spouse on student visa (SVP) to be precise.?if one's spouse is on ground, is he eligible to work? and can he work to finance his or her spouse education? thirdly, what are d possibilities of bringing in Nigeria food when coming? what are d suggested things that one can bring in for sales when coming instead of packing clothes. in d luggages? Iam on knee waiting for good people of this forum to give real answers. If you are here for masters, your spouse will have unlimited working hours while you will be restricted to 40hrs per fortnight, but if you are here for Bsc or Diploma, the 40hrs per fortnight rule will apply to both of you. I will advise you to have enough money for Cert. training especially in aged care or disability, your spouse can do the same but if he is not the care or hospital type, he can do a security training or get a forklift license and white card. It will help both of you secure a job quicker. Yes, you can bring African food with you but make sure they are neat and well packed, insects free as well. You can pack extra food if you want something to sell, some African shops can buy them from you. Hope i answered your questions? You can stand up now.... |

I thank you for always watching my back and ppl's back here. God will crown you. Does it mean if I graduate with a degree in Logistics, I can be eligible for a Post Study Work Visa? Affirmative |

erictack203: Hello House,
Does Logistics has any hedge in Australia? I saw some related occupation in Logistics on the CSOL in 3 States. But my wonder is if one can get a Post Study work Visa after 3yrs Undergraduate program in Logistics towards gaining work exp on PR. Another issue is how is the pay in Oz in this field? (Procurement, Supply Chain Mgt, Warehouse Mgr, Equipment Hire Mgr, Transport and Haulage). Is the pay Rosy over there on this field? It doesn't matter if your skill is in the SOL for the post study stream and yes, pays are always rosy here. |

erictack203: Hi All,
Tony Abbots Leadership was Challenged and was Voted out today as the PM of Australia. Marculn Turnbull is the New Australian PM.
This guy is against Immigration and in support of Gay Marriage, the guy also suggested that Australia PR should be sold for about AuS50,000 which will generate billions for the Government while help get people to work in the Country at the same time. Then Tony Abbot insisted that Australian Citizenship is "not for sale". Just read it... Thats Australia's politics for you, fifth prime minister in five years. Hope this comes out good for immigrants. |

2posh: No issues there but as was stated before by someone else, it's better to have all the information openly discussed here. Plus I'm still a learner, there are more informed people on the thread to provide quality guidance.
Since you've already applied, just wait for the outcome. If you are impatient, feel free to call them. I was calling them like every other day Just remember to factor in the time difference.

Please confirm other proof of GTE one can provide besides marriage ties and job offer. I don't have either of those. NYSC isn't an option either as I've done that. That question brought back memories. Well, let me start by warning against forging any document for DIBP, just don't take that risk . GTE can be demonstrated in many ways even without showing any document. Just ask yourself this question while writing your SOP... "Assuming i am a CO, how can someone convince me he/she is a genuine student and not just traveling cos he wants to run away from his country? ". Start first with your course of study, Does your course of study relate to your previous education? You can't have Nursing as your Bsc here and you want to do Cooking in Australia. .. another one is your study gap, you have to be able to explain any study gaps in your academic history. *To be continued * typing half asleep |

2posh: Great. Thanks a lot Lawland.
Please also help me confirm if a stock account from my sponsor is viable proof of finances.
The grey area is that if the stock is sold and paid into a normal bank account, the embassy will just see that a large sum of money was recently deposited in the account. But with the stock account, they get to see that the money has been there for a while and saved up for this purpose and this will be explained in my sponsor's letter.
Please can you help state all the types of acceptable proof of finances the embassy requires? Can't seem to find it on their website.
Thanks. I think you should call them and channel that enquiry to them. I am not familiar with stock account so i wouldn't speculate. |

2posh: Hello Lawland and other gurus,
For student visa application to the embassy, I already have certified copies of my credentials from the federal high court at ikoyi. Will these be ok or is it mandatory that I have to use a notary public?
Please has anyone here used documents that were certified in a court to get their student visa?
Thanks High Court is ok if not better... I used the same court. |

erictack203: @FutureDon.
Thanks a lot for your insight. I think I will apply for an Adv Dip in Nursing and revisit the issue.
Thanks. Pls don't do this as you will even get a heavier refusal... You are definitely refused based on GTE... i suggest you study the criteria and you will understand where i am coming from.. Even though your application is SVP, you still have to demonstrate you are a genuine student. Try an appeal instead of re-applying and explain why you choose nursing cos its not related to your degree and also show evidence of your employment and offer of employment upon return and mind you that you can't study nursing in Australia and return home to work in logistics!!! So your job offer should be on the course you want to undertake. ... like i said, you messed your application up.. |

erictack203: That is just the reason, "You Stated that you will be re-hired by your current employer when you return, but no evidence to this and your employment cannot be verified" no 1 was called and I wasn't even called. So my brother, y won't I leave them? She even stated that my Family ties and so on shows that I will return to Nigeria after my studies and but she wasn't sure of this, she was contradicting herself. This is to show that they refuses ppl Visas base on personal reasons. It's so crazy menh. I think you messed up your application in the first place, when dealing with visa application and you claim something, you definitely need something to back it up, i don't actually blame her but will rather plan you. I advise you appeal her decision and this time, show evidence that she is seeking. IMMI normally seek clarification before they make decision even though they have the power to make decisions based on the docs you submitted. Just appeal mate... |

erictack203: My fellow brothers and sisters in the house, pretoria was happy to reject me Visa today. Reason was that Employer was not verified and that no Letter of Future Employment, subclass-573,(SVP) paid AuS13,700 and has saved about AuS7,450 for complete 1yrs fees. Total: AuS21,000. I added my landed property docs, marriage certificates, house plan, children birth certs, employment histories, first aid certificates, IELTS and PTE blast them over.
So guys tell me, what else does pretoria needs? My MD of my Company was mad at this, they didn't call any1 or even me, he even wanted to use his lawyers to write them, I told him not to bother, every1 must not travel, some are meant to help others to succeed here and do stuffs. Australia should understand that we are not Hungry in Nigeria. I will keep up with my business and clap for people who gets their grants. Happy New Month. Sorry for the refusal mate, but i find it hard to believe the reason you gave for the denial especially cos your application is SVP... It took quite a long time too and you are giving up easily. Its just not adding up to me. |

Bryanpro: @ Lawland which other way do I address the sponsor issue?? because I have mailed the C.O back addressing the financial issue... I told her why it was my brother in-law that was my sponsor because his from my mother's end... let me see if she will get back to me tomorrow They can't just change the outcome by you mailing them and addressing the issue, you have to go through formal appeal. You could have explained that the person is your sisters husband and that the husband run their accounts (you can do better than this lie), that way it may seem its also your sisters account. .. but since you have already written back (i don't expect a positive outcome), you just have to reapply to another school that is svp but still meet the financial requestment cos its most likely that will ask for it. If you seek my opinion, i would say your inlaw should deposit the money in your, your mums or your dads account for the required period and reapply again with same school. |

Bryanpro: Non-Svp is just crap for sure after all the long wait.... Going for Svp approved schools straight ahead... Not Giving up Why not address the financial issue before jumping into another application? Note that immi keep records of there visa refusals and your are likely to be refused again if you don't address the issue and that you are going for SVP doesn't mean that they can't ask you for financial evidence. |

Please which course is more advisable to go for in Australia between Social work and Occupational health & safety?
Thank you A degree is the entry level for both occupation, that means that you need to get a degree after your diploma to be eligible for skill assessment. In other words, don't go for both unless you are willing to continue to Uni. |
