Ok.. 4 of my mates did Advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering here, they assessed their diploma qualification for electrical engineering draftsperson with EA and never mentioned their degrees. They got positive outcome and nothing about their degree was mentioned in the outcome letter. When filling the EOI, they entered their degree as their highest qualification and got 15 points for it. Specifics: one studied a 4 years course in Unilag, the other 2 studied a 5 yrs course from FUTO and one is french and studied in France. They all got their visa granted and no questions about qualification asked. I hope this answers all your questions? |

Azy123: Well, this is bad news for me. But if that is the correct information. I'm glad I am getting it now rather than later.
I will still do more research on this. Please if you have contrary information to NNB2012, doyen06, iceberg64 and alphadoor info/opinion on this matter. please come out and help a brother.
All of a sudden 65 points has drop to 60 points.
@ all please ask your questions here so others can counsel and advice. An individual might simply advice or inform you based on what he believe to be true. There is always a conflicting information on this topic, but from my experience and that of my friends, you can only be denied visa for qualification if your assessing body assessed your highest qualification as not being comparable to AQF bachelors degree and you go ahead and claim 15 points. If your assessing body didn't assess your highest qualification because it is not related to your nominated occupation, you can go ahead and claim points for it as long as it is comparable to the AQF equivalent. Two ways to know this are by going for PTA with Vetasses or by accessing CEP. Vetassess and DIBP use CEP to assess qualification.A CO will never deny you visa straight away if he is not satisfied with the comparability of your qualification to AQF, you will be asked to go for PTA. Like i said, this is from my own personal experience, intensive research when i was in this situation and from my friends after me. |

Azy123: Congratulations to you.
Your education point is 15 points. Don't shortchange yourself o.
you can claim point for the education even if ACS did not say anything about it as far it is a 5 years course in a section 2 university or 4 yr course in section 1 university.
No need to assess with Vetasses at all. Don't waste time and money. You only need to do that if your assessing authority says they can not assess your degree and refer you to vetassess. in your case ACS is silent on it.
Please submit another EOI ASAP with 75 points.
Abeg I go need PTE training from you o. Seconded |

Okay thanks, just want to find out if any, which section or category do they classify Nigerian Trade Test Certificates pls. To be able to know if one can get positive assessment with only this qualification. Thanks. Can you provide more information about the qualification? CEP tends to favour Nigeria Trade certificate more. |

martinoonline: Abeg o, has anyone travelled to Australia through Singapore? Was there any need for transit visa for a layover of about 6 hours at Singapore (departing same day)?
I'm getting confused, I booked on Travelstart and they confirmed to me that I won't need a transit visa but a friend tried to book same itinerary on Wakanow and was told he'll need a transit visa.
Anyone with firsthand info on this, pls help.
Thanks. You don't need a Transit visa as long you are not leaving the airport |

Babcook and redeemer are section 2 university but they are assessed at case by case basis taking into account how many years studied and Class of degree. Their 3 years course is definitely a Diploma AQF. |

praiseisgood: @ Lawland, What of OAU (University of Ife)?
To answer your question, I have read that some accountants have been assessed positively (ICA). I am aware that accounting/accountancy is a 4 year course.
Like Alphador mentioned earlier, it depends on the assessing body. OAU is a Section 1 University and University of Ilorin is a Section 2 university. Accounting is different, as long as you cover the course structure, they will give you a positive assessment. If you don't and even if you from Section 1 university, they will ask you to do the courses. |

parksg: anambra state uni falls under wat section please Anambra state University is a Section 2 university. The problem with this universities is that you can not claim 15 points with them if your course is a 4 years unless your assessing body says so which is unlikely. |
