From March next year, applicants in assessment 3 can only be sponsored by a close relatives and the good part is that evidence of fund required has been reduced from 18 months to 12 months.

ferdimako: How far with you on the yellow card? I have searched all Jos and it's not done here oh. They said it's in Lagos and Abuja. I'd like to know the venue in Lagos.
I did mine yesterday at the ministry of health here in Onitsha. I don't want to believe they don't do it in Jos, try the ministry of health and the general hospitals.

Pls during your cause of searching for school in WA, did you come across any school that starts there M.sc in March?

The last time I checked, to write here is free. The worst part is that I wasn't referring to the guy though I quoted him. I read that news when it was proposed around the last quarter of 2012 in media release that was why I said old story. The Bloke can go on and rant.

What a boring day here!!!
I don't like it when this thread gets boring that's why I always ask questions here sometimes not because I don't know it but for others to comment on it and for others to learn from the sharing and for me to learn more cos knowledge got no limit. I encourage people to share whatever idea that comes to their mind here because we still have a lot to learn. The main thing is not getting a visa but knowing how to survive and achieve our various goals is. *THERE IS LOVE IN SHARING*

kmontee: what do u want to do wif d yellow fever card? gimme more info on how u booked and paid for your flight ticket
You need to show the card when you land in Aussie, from what I read, they won't necessary deny you entry if you don't have the card, they will administer the vaccination to you. I just don't want any delay. If you want to book with Emirates, book online and pay in first bank or citibank if you want money transfer. My Uncle's agent booked for me but you can easily do It online.

Abeg go to Lagos and do your medicals, those people don't have time to wait for people or send people mail. They have always stated that complete app gets quick processing. Just go and do your medicals bloke.

Did you do your medicals before or after lodging your application? Medicals normally take close to a week to come out... If your panel doctor has acknowledged your medicals submission to Sydney, write to Pretoria tomorrow.

Watermelon: @ Lawland, there are many shops in Sydney where one can buy African food stuffs, and may not need to stress himself transporting them from home and they are very cheap here. I am not trying to discourage you from bringing in condiments from home. There are African shops at Paramatta (Church street), Liverpool (Railway street, about 45 metres away from Liverpool station), Enmore (Enmore street, approximately 40 metres from Newtown station). Yam, cocoayam (Ede oku and the other type for bitterleaf soup), crayfish, assorted fruits and fresh vegetables including green, okro, ewedu etc can be purchased at Paddys Market, Flemington - the biggest fruit market in Sydney just right there at the Flemington railway station. For cheap and fresh groceries visit Aldi, Coles, Woolworths, Iga and Reject shops; miracle eye, Hay market at China town close to central station and food works for Asian food stuffs like indomie and the other "orisirisi" including toad and octopus grin

For clothings, visit Kmart, every suburb in Sydney has at least, one branch of all the big players in grocery and clothing bussness, when you arrive visit their websites to locate the nearest branch to your area of residence.
Ensure your mobile device has google map to enable you navigate with ease because asking people for direction often gives them the perception that you are an Illiterate though most will not hesitate to help. Catch your Sydney buses, ferries and trains in time using 131500.com.au.
Remember that eating out with friends is on a "Bring Your Own" basis, that is, if a friend invites you to a meal in a restaurant, you pay for whatever you consume and the friend pays for his.
If you are a Catholic, you can join them every second Sunday of the month for Igbo service at St Oliver Plunket catholic church, Harris Park, Paramatta and that gives an opportunity to meet the Igbo comuniity in Paramatta axis.
Thanks for this... But I won't be staying permanently in Sydney, I will be moving to Perth in January...
