ernieboy:. It's been so long, and I'm just seeing this, but if I was the engineering firm, I'd allow you do things the way you thought best. The previous holder left that post for a reason, and I don't wish you to trail such parts, so do better. |
orisa37:Have you considered the political climate of both countries? Do both countries have the same ideological and moral views? Are the conditioning of the masses similar? Don't just state what's obvious, but what's needed. |
orisa37:What then will be the use of the federal government, or even a country in the first place if every state would have total and complete control of its own welfare? |
Slawormir:You're right y'know. I actually believe it is as a result of the reconfiguration of the genetic makeup of the virus which I feel is at the behest of a person, an individual who has the capacity and capabilities to do so. It's the newest war we have right now. Bioterrorism. Bro, make we slow down on weed o, abii wetin u think |
Just watch drama. Oshiomole if a wise man can destroy his enemies in one fell swoop. This is why politics is intersting |
SLAP44:They're being greedy and asking for more because you can't compare Lagos State to Niger State. |
Nigerians think like homo erectus sometimes, and it's sad. |
Kyari has made too many enemies. He either has to learn to relax a bit, or suffer a damning fate. |
Lack of appropriate documentation is what's plaguing Nigeria now. They aren't able to get enough data cause they lack anything to use in tracing the origins of each individual, hence knowing the size of their army. Until we all have been documented into Nigeria's system one way or the other, Nigeria will never truly know us like it should. |
Most y'all don't understand Nigeria's political atmosphere. Don't believe what you read, instead, understand what's going on. Abba Kyari has control because Buhari let him have it. Buhari is a military man, and hence needs a diplomat wise enough to be at the helm of it. Buhari dictates what he wants to Abba, who then acts on it by being the President's r@bid dog, capable of getting anything done. |
saaron:As good as the first few lines I read sounded in my head, it'll only sound right in my head. You think jihadists have limits to their conquering? A new state means a new land to conquer and so on. The issue has to be addressed from the source of the problem, not on conferring short term solutions to long term problems. There's always a way, all we have to do is think harder! |
Trump has succeeded in shifting the world's attention from his failure as a president by creating a plot to cover up his own shortcomings. Everyone is talking about his war with Iran, and not his impeachment hearing that should be coming up soon. Adept business and political skills! |
calberian:Generally, transportation cost most times is measured by a range of causes: condition of the road, distance, the location ie mainland or highland(which part of the mainland if mainland also), the transport workers(agbero), period of time, and a lot of other factors. Each factor should be considered based on the area, and a fixed priced allocated/fixed that suits the driver and the passenger. Also, there should be a restructuring of the nurtw and other bodies involved. The payments they receive can also be regulated, fixing a price that isn't as high as they extort from the drivers cause sometimes, these could cause an increase in the transportation cost of a specific area. There's a myriad of problems that would need to be addressed, but which are basically disregarded little errors that aggregate to cause a value problem. At the end though, good road and ease of accessibility is the ultimate icebreaker, which goes to say that without the government's intervention, ideas will float but would not be useful. I just typed whatever rubbish came to my mind btw. I hope you have a more insightful idea or reply to your earlier question while aggreing also that these reasons could cause transportation value problems. |
While everyone is paying attention to obvious reactions that could occur, someone should try to put that girl down before it's too late. She could be the future Adolf Hitler! Asking for revenge at such age means a broad knowledge of political understanding, and obviously, machinations. |
Majority of the people ranting here(for and against) stay very far from Zamfara State, or atleast, don't reside there, yet expect to understand how to run the state as effectively. Politics at state level is very different from Federal level. You could do opposite of your views in federal as compared to state cause here, you're looking over a whole lot of states, unlike one state looking out for itself. So, policies carried out in state level always have a preempt before deciding on riding down such path. They don't just make decisions, they observe and try to check what they could do also, after all, governing is another form of politicking. |
Nigeria never told ECOWAS that they are interested in a single currency up till this moment. That has been going on for years now. So won't they reply them that they will get back at them?! Nigeria’s naira is often seen as the likely anchor currency for ECOWAS, due largely to country’s sheer economic size and political importance. This role would be akin to the one played by the German deutsche mark in the period leading to the introduction of the euro. Our Conclusion : The Eco will clearly not be the panacea for West Africa’s myriad problems, including high levels of unemployment, especially among the burgeoning population of youth and the increasing numbers of the poor. The lessons from the eurozone highlight continuing challenges among a group of highly developed countries with very strong institutions. ECOWAS will do well to heed these lessons. Also, efforts by member states to strengthen domestic macroeconomic frameworks are important. Concerted efforts must be made to reduce the inordinate bureaucratic delays that severely constrain exports and imports at the border. Launching the single regional currency, the “Eco,” by December 2019 is, at best, an expensive distraction that the people of West Africa can ill afford at this particular moment. We stand with Nigeria. Shame on the OP that brought this rubbish here, whatever his mission was and bigger shame on the illiterates typing jargons everywhere. Lazy tins! It is always good and refreshing to know that we still have reasonable and intelligent people like you guys on this forum. Compared to the illiterates and pessimistic wailers that have nothing upstairs but just take side with anything that can make the country look bad. Ireedeemable and pathetic tins they are. No wonder Cownu called them whatever he addresed them has!
Instead of knowing the problem, why not blow grammar on the solution instead of finding faults in someone else's observation? Happy new year in a bit btw. |
Why do I feel this is a prelude to the continuation of Orji's corruption, even behind bars!? The guts Nigerian politicians are beginning to have these days ehn, it takes a pro to outsmart them. That's the only reason I enjoy Nigeria's politicis; It's raw, undiluted, unhindered politics unlike countries like America where everything is only within the scope of the constitution. Politics is a dirty game, and isn't politicking until you're really ready to roll in the mud, and the masses will remain collateral damages along the line, even though it's a truly sad thing what most of us are. We'll find the way back though, I believe |
Y'all should realize also that the downfall of a godfather leads to the rise of another. Before Oshiomole, someone was there, after him, someone will be there. Noone knows how Obaseki will react when he finally reaches the position of making key decisions in Edo state even after his tenure. It's no fault of a politician to do what he does, but rather, that of power, and the struggle to keep it in your grasp for a long time to come. |
Firstly, those comparing Edo to Lagos State have no idea what they're saying. You think Oshiomole stood a chance at godfatherism? He himself is the national chairman without any active hold on the party, and you expect Obaseki to not try his luck at ousting him? You can't compare Tinubu's stand and power base with that of Oshiomole. They're incomparable. |
This will probably get lost in the comments Those judging her for her sins are right and wrong. I'm pretty sure you've not been in her shoes or know how hard it was for her growing up. Most times, we use our own sights as a form of empathy and fail to realize that empathy implies being in the person's shoe, trying to see how it was from her own perspective. Sure, she didn't make the best of decisions, but she's been honest enough to come out to tell you these things. She don't want you hearing stuffs about her outside. And op, truly, you already made your decision. Noone here can make one for you, so don't come out to look for what isn't and do what you want to do. You're the one with her, not any of us here y'know. |
This is just a power tussle between the PSC and the IG. Anyways, just cos the other guy was Buhari's classmate, he gets to keep his own car? PSC doesn't have a good tactician, else that's a loop in IG's move that can be preyed on. |
Shallow politicking Their mates are the actual G-7, they're fighting to get invitations. Such shallow mentality we tend to have in Africa. |
This is in a country where politics really is a thing. She had to resign because she couldn't move forward with anything. The parliament never gave her free reigns to govern effectively. Subsequent mishaps in her own conservative party also made her lose trust, with even her own party vice-chairman having issues against her. She'll be remembered as a woman who actually sought to do something, but couldn't because of a male dominated government to me. The establishment of media is the most tragic thing to ever happen in government, I always say this. |
coolitempa:If not that I was just released from a ban, I'd have called you dumb. Your own country's politics is in shambles, and the parliament in unison with the government are using the country's head to play catch. Please, next time, think before you type. You're a female you know, atleast, that's what your profile says. |
Muslims are always crying foul at every single thing. They're part of the reason Nigeria is as it is currently. |
ernieboy:For political appointments, I believe they're all based on the manifesto of the person involved. They appoint people based on what he/she has to offer, which is why noone wants to come and do nothing. It'll be tagged doing nothing when u come and can't commission a project of your own, but keep doing projects that others commissioned. |
ernieboy:So, if you applied for a vacant post in an organization, and was subsequently granted the job, are you required to continue the work of the previous occupant of the post, or start doing things your own way, which was a major reason for your being picked in the first place? In Nigeria's politics and political sphere, I've not heard of a case whereby an incumbent holder of whatever political post continues the work of his predecessor. Everyone wants to be praised for carrying out their own project and not just doing a completion of someone else's project. |
Nigerians and their way of jumping to conclusion. He's actually right when the situation is observed critically. You can't be able to do much under four years as the minister of works. He only specified WORKS. You don't expect roads to be built under 4yeara in the whole of Nigeria. Maybe a 6 yr tenure or something should be used, that way even if the person ends up doing nothing, the presidency can decide to replace such minister. |
