Thanks.

Fire at their facility is a silly excuse. A facility as 'key' as that should have superior fire prevention/detection/extinguishing measures. Incompetent local champions. If only they realize the extent of pain, misery and loss (not mere 'inconveniences'!) incurred by many subscribers between last night and now.

Well said!!

Baby girl, just take it cool.I'm not good at giving a sermon but I could only give a piece of advice.Believe me there are more to life than to be talking about boyfriend at this tender age.Being into relationship is really sweet but I swear it is the worst evil that many had wished they never witnessed at their tender age.More harms it could do than good, because it is so hard to have someone as reasonable or sensible of the same age as you are.YOU ARE A PRECIOUS GIFT to your life and apple eye of many who want good for you and they wouldnt want u in the same mess.

Attach your feelings to many other things that could give the pleasure of life, listen to good music, pick up a pen write poems, write novels,or read novels, fall in love with your books, read jokes at joke section.

Give yourself a definition of who you are not what other people are because they might not be right.Tell them always, 'this is me, not you!Me of course who gets my thinking right!''

For a gal at your age, I think this is the BEST advice for you. Good luck!

Politics / Breaking News! Mark Zuckerberg Of Facebook Wins Time Person Of The Year 2010 by lazinc(m): 5:28pm On Dec 15, 2010
On the afternoon of Nov. 16, 2010, Mark Zuckerberg was leading a meeting in the Aquarium, one of Facebook's conference rooms, so named because it's in the middle of a huge work space and has glass walls on three sides so everybody can see in. Conference rooms are a big deal at Facebook because they're the only places anybody has any privacy at all, even the bare minimum of privacy the Aquarium gets you. Otherwise the space is open plan: no cubicles, no offices, no walls, just a rolling tundra of office furniture. Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's COO, who used to be Lawrence Summers' chief of staff at the Treasury Department, doesn't have an office. Zuckerberg, Facebook's CEO and co-founder and presiding visionary, doesn't have an office.

To me, I believe this award should have gone to Julian Paul Assange an Australian journalist, publisher, and Internet activist. He is the spokesperson and editor in chief for WikiLeaks, a whistleblower website and repository for news leaks.

manie:

I use FBN Securities at Ikoyi, a subsidiary of first bank, UBA stock brokers a subsidiary of United bank of Africa, they non 10th floor UBA house marina and Union Capital market on Victoria island a sudsidiary of Union bank.

FBN securities used to charge 500k to open an account, it used to be 20k but they increased it during the bull era of 2006 to 2008. I guess they must have a downward review of the amount, same with Union capital.
UBA stock brokers is 250k.

Thanks for the info, but I guess their initial startup is pretty too high for me. Maybe I'd stick to ARM Securities since they have a reasonable charge.

That is very good. To succeed in stock trading you need to have good brokers. I use three brokers that are subsidiaries of some of the big banks in Nigeria. You get research materials from the stock brokers, but it is still advisable for you to do your home work. This is not the time to speculate, although one can be lucky to speculate now and win.

How do I know a good broker? I intend using ARM securities, though they are new into the market. I have a mutual fund account with them that I'm servicing over a while now and they've been very consistent with their dividend, though don't really know much about their research. Can you please recommend a good broker I can use with not too a high Initial capital to start with (ARM have a minimum of 50K which is OK).
Investment / Re: The Nigerian Capital Market & Nigerian Economy! by lazinc(m): 4:50pm On Dec 06, 2010
@Rekeb & Manie,

Thanks 4 ur prompt response, I have done a little research on the market prior to this time and I was able to come up with these selected coy which I believe have strong fundamentals and track records( Nahco, NB, FBN, Oando, GTB and UACN Property). Gurus I have a long term view on investing and as d clock clicks I will become more and more experienced by learning from my mistakes and building on my strengths.
Am not trying to be anxious about this, I have put in quality time, energy and resources to do my research and homework and I feel its time to take action, I may be wrong in some of my decisions and analysis but I have made up my mind to accept what ever the outcome may be since I know that investing in securities is not cast on stone, at times it goes to your favour while some times it does not.

Any contribution will be highly appreciated. Thanks
