Leicester vs Chelsea FA Cup Quarters....

Ndidi starts in midfield alongside Iborra.

Iheanacho starts upfront behind Vardy.

Victor Moses also starts for Chelsea in his usual RWB role.

The hour is here....
Supernerd and the memes, really have missed a lot on nairaland. Moses has reply dipped in form except he is saving himself for the world cup. Nacho is building up confidence and Ndidi is really a good buy

Don't jump into conclusion when you don't understand things.
Look,Arsenal are are famous for playing possession football, teams who face Arsenal play with a lot of defensive mindset to disrupt their game.
Cameroun, Argentina, Algeria and Zambia left gaps (that is if you watched any of those games anyway)that no team in England will dajre give Arsenal. This results in Iwobi having more space to do damage for Nigeria than he is normally used to at Arsenal.
Mind you this is just my opinion on why Iwobi have better record for Nigeria than Arsenal.

How a supposedly sane, educated and rationale person will interpret my post as degrading Nigerian opponents beats me hollow.
Boss, I disagree on the point about spaces, the teams you mentioned especially Zambia did not really give us space. Also you must have noticed that these teams were defeated with counter attacks and we see them happen in EPL week in week out so it is not ll fact

I doubt Dosu Joseph was a better choice than Emmanuel Babayaro. It was just another case of bias. It was more of our offensive exploits that saved us, not Goalkeeping heroics. Heck, Dosu chopped five goals in two matches in the semi final and final. However, Dida swallowed four against us.
Mehn, Dosu was poor, really poor during the Olympics o. People need to watch the whole match and not highlights. Very poor positioning and ball handling. Lucky we had a good attack and luck was on our side

Joel Obi might have been a good player but can he still perform at that top level? If so, invite him. People should however desist from insulting our present crop of players. And those clamouring for dressers. Not all players can be invited, we seem to forget that some players might not even fit in into the coach's style of play and hence they look bad. This does not mean that they are poor players. And on people claiming that a player must be in the best league to play. National team is a different ball game, ask Mahrez and the likes. Whether it is the Scandinavian or Asian league, once the player can deliver, just allow him to play and not all these agent like talks

Members of this forum, I hail thee,
@Joebie is an epistle that you wrote concerning the 'foreign breed' nice one. @Micheal, football has never been 1+1, either moses got a freekick or he was allowed to beat his marker. He was obstructed but for you to use the term headless chicken means you are being too harsh. When he did the same against Cameroon and exchanged a pass with simon which lead to the 3rd goal, you did not say anything but suddenly come up with such harsh criticisms. You actually made me get interested in Onazi as I started watching his style of play. He might not be the best passer of the ball but he really is a workaholic. You keep clamouring for his removal but then we are all entitled to our opinion and I respect that. However try not to bring down someone's achievements just because they are not doing the "ideal' thing. Constructive criticism helps a lot but hey what do I know

on point! aside accepting to understudy Rohr, the question is will they learn?

I was disappointed in Salisu Yusuf. Despite spending a year as an assistant to Rohr. I have see no improvement in his managerial/coaching skills-WAFU SPEAKS IT ALL.

I will suggest that any indigenious coach we will be considering in the future MUST have had experience coaching a club/country outside Nigeria with some acceptable level of success as we had in late Keshi's case. In short make dem go and learn outside first since they've refused to learn from home...
There is more to the selection of players o. You will be amazed at the level of rot

Please kindly refrain from insulting each other. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Cameroon has suffered sha. People now look down on them. They won the nation's cup last year o. Really disappointed in Nigerians. Do we really have fans or just people who always want to win. How many teams are in our position today. If the Zambians do not put up a fight and we go into the world cup thinking you have arrived, that can even be more dangerous. Unbeaten in all our matches and only one draw and people are already panicking. A team with a goal difference of 7. Haba!!!

It's shocking Nwakaeme is competition for Iheanacho(at least in this forum). Iheanacho is light years ahead and has 8 goals in 12 appearance(9 starts) for Nigeria and he is only 21.
I don't think it is shocking, if the Nwakaeme can use his strength and guile to deliver against Cameroon then I see no reason why he would not start. Also I have to accept that strength might be needed assist that Cameroon backline. They can be quite physical to be honest. If iheanacho should start then a lot of through passes would be needed and they better be into space rather than to feet. Then he might be more effective. We really missed Mikel against SA.

[quote author=Mickael2 post=60103616]I would assume you are just giving him a background knowledge so I won't take up anything from here.

However the main casualty here are the platelets, this is so because he is a sport man and they go get minor bruises. I have seen patients with red blood cell deficieny but they still survive well because blood can still dissolve oxygen, so that's apart. Lack of white blood cells is quite similar to what HIV does, and people survive with HIV, so that one is not the main problem.

Stimulating his blood and marrows to produce platelets yet again is going to take more than 9months at least so all these talk about world cup seems highly unlikely, let's pray he manages to make it out of the hospital for now[/quote
]
Hmmmm, also remember that he can be prone to flus and minor illnesses. Also the problems of relapses is also on the table. But in all I am positive he will be back.

Joebie:
Onuoha is Nigeria-born.. Okay so are you going to castigate him now for refusing at first? IF he decides to play for Nigeria now espcially now that we need quality defenders, what will we gain for turning him down? There are many factors why he may not feel Nigerian. I'm sure only he can explain best what he meant at the time.

Holding a grudge against a player and trying to pay him back is elementary. If it was a father-son scenario, I will pet my son in the back and accept him. You don't lose anything. It shows maturity. And the bond will be stronger than ever. How about in future he goes on to say Nigeria gave him a chance despite rejecting their overtures initially. And that's one thing he would love Nigeria for. Nigeria as a country that has failed so many sportsmen. For once we can do what is right instead of holding on to our ego.
So we should call him up Abi as Nigeria has now become a back up for players who failed to be called up by England. So sad, how do we now encourage our home based when we pick people who have no interest or desire to play for his home country. He is even down the perking order and has disappeared from the top flight. Even if our government has failed does not mean we should now drag the name of the country through mud.

My last take on the calls for the oldies. Consider this scenario.

You are a new manager of the Super Eagles with no one to tell you which player is good or bad, or who have performed wonderfully well or badly in the past. With no knowledge of ANY Nigerian player. All you have is internet connection, and a wonderful database website, and of course youtube. And your most concern is recent statistics with videos. Who would you pick? Which players will make your first squad announcement?
Depends on the goals you were brought in to achiev. Build a team for the future or immediate results?

With this scenario, I have cut out the possibility of sentiments. Let's see if our opinions will change.

Please can we put forward our points with no insults please. I also saw someone advocating for osazie into this squadhuh Haba na, can't we forge ahead. He has paid his dues and his generation is on the move. Let's build and laugh later than keep recycling over and over again. Our creative midfield is really lacking I would think we would have focused more on that.
