gabazin080: osun deserves the kind of leader they get .
osun people are deceiving themselves if they think oletola and oleleke will do anything good for the state after all the money spent in court because what will be the first thing on the mind is how to recover the money spent.
I weep for Nigeria I weep for osun I weep for the youths So Adeleke is going to be the Man of the people right? If you live in Osun State you would know that Aregbesola was the Best Governor in Osun State History but he was not perfect, Osun was in the state of Infrastructure decayed until Aregbesola came in, so you want us to be back in the state of Wilderness PDP government put us in? |

Bridget95: 'things fall apart' have been ringing in the head of many worldwide including wole as a masterpiece of Chinue Achebe.Tell me one of wole's works that rings a bell? Just because you don't know much about it doesn't mean everyone is going to be like you, I once came across a podcast of Things fall apart on U Tube and the criticism and feedback was totally awful, 80% of the people that dropped a feedback complained about how the book was boring and how it was force down their throats in their respective schools in Europe but that doesn't mean the book was Bad. Soyinka is recognize in Europe and even won an European Prize for Literature. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wole_SoyinkaJust because Chinua Achebe books are popular doesn't mean everyone like his books and this is not about Popularity, if the Nobel Laurette was base on Popularity then thousands of writers all over the world would have win the Prize 15 Likes |

maestroferddi: All these turanci you are writing here do not add up.
Don't tell me you are this naive or uncircumspect....
Achebe was never had the Nobel for Literature conferred on him for one main reason: His acclaimed stance against the white establishment in their attempt to depict black Africa as an inferior race. He was renowned for challenging long-held views that African literature is not pristine and that African writers had little literary merit.
Achebe dared the supremacists. He hinted severally that he didn't need the prize to underline his standing as one of the best men of letters of all time.
In. terms of depth, technical and cultural significance, reach and universality, Soyinka knows there was no time he could have held a candle to Achebe.
Where are Soyinka's Things Fall Apart, No Longer At Ease and Arrows of God?
How many Nigerians have heard of Jero Plays, Kongi Harvest and The King's Horseman (hope I got that title correctly)?
Achebe is undisputably one of the greatest literary minds ever to come out of Africa.
You have don't have your magnus opus translated to over five dozen languages for nothing....resa ipso loquitor... If it was about popularity, then the writer of Game of Thrones book "George R. R. Martin" should have win a Nobel Laurette by now 31 Likes 2 Shares |

goodnessme1: Biafra is a name that brings panic to yoruba and their hausafulanis master. Go and ask a typical Yoruba in the street what they think of your Biafra, many may not even know about it at all except the Civil War and those who know about it think you are all Jokers and attention seekers. You can not even scare a street in Yoruba Land, talk less of a town, many Yoruba don't even know there is a group call IPOB Go to any Yoruba Land and ask around about IPOB many don't even know there is something call IPOB, but we Yoruba on Nairaland just can't get rid of you lot You keep creating useless thread then accuse others of obsession when in reality you are the one that is obsessed with seeking for attention |

whirlwind7: Ha! The afonja head shrink! You haven't been able to diagnose your own people's anal fixation and their incurable fascination with everything Igbo. Yet, here you are, offering me your unsolicited service. Alaini ìrònú.
I'm living my life to it's fullest. I can't say the same for you and your people. Actually, you guys can't live without looking for an Igbo cause to masturbate over.
C'mon, drink that bottle of sniper already. It tastes like Biafra, doesn't it? I don't know what is wrong with you people , you created a thread on Nairaland then members try to comment and submit their own opinion but then you start accusing them of obsession like any Yoruba give a damn about your Biafra, an average Yoruba in the street may not even know that some people are agitating for secession and those who even know think you guys are just bunch of jokers and attention seekers. Typical Igbo always bragging about what doesn't matter, who ask you questions about how you are living your life? It is very obvious you are one wretched Igbo because no one ask questions about how you are living your life. Many of your people are pushing Wheel Barrows, selling Meat pie, Fan Milk under hot Sun and in traffic all over Yoruba Lands, poverty stricken Igbo talking about living life to the fullest, that's ironic |
