The car engine has pistons and this are equipped with two separate compression rings toward the crown of the piston, an oil control ring assemblage toward the skirt. The rings moves in an annular grooves in the piston. The compression rings help to harness the power being produced while stopping unwanted gases from having access into the crankcase. The oil control ring assemblage removes excess oil from the cylinder walls to prevent the oil from entering into the combustion chamber. The inability of this rings to function could result to a lot of problems. As highlighted below BAD COMPRESSION RINGS continue reading...http://www.automobileglobe.com/signs-of-bad-rings/ |

The ignition distributor plays a pivotal role in the ignition system. Its basic functions start with triggering the firing of the ignition coil, controlling timing advance, and routing or distributing the coil’s high voltage output to each spark plugs. In the case of older applications with breaker point ignition systems, the contact points are made to turn the ignition coil’s primary voltage on and off. This are mounted on a flexible plate in the distributor unit or housing. Cam lobes mounted on the distributor shaft turn against a plastic block on the breaker points to open and close the points. However in modern applications made with electronic ignition systems, the distributor has a magnetic pickup or Hall Effect switch instead of the old points to create a signal for the ignition continue reading http://www.automobileglobe.com/how-your-distributor-works/ |
Insert the key in the cylinder, apply a bit of pressure to the key and turn the steering wheel left and right. This is to attempt to find a free spot for the key to turn. The very first reason for a still cylinder is that most cars have a steering column lock which can bind at any time. In this circumstance, persistent pressure would need to be exert against the ignition mechanism and until it gets a free unlocking space.continue reading... http://www.automobileglobe.com/how-to-solve-stiff-key-cylinder-issues/ |
The car kick starter is a component that put life to your car: it “turns over” your engine. That’s why I manual gear transmission cars, when your car starter fails, you can switch the ignition on, roll down a hill or have a push of the car, move your gear to 2, the clutch in gear, and the engine start and rev just fine, even after the starter must have been removed from the car! However it should be noted here that faulty starter’s exhibits the same behavior of bad car batteries so it it important to ensure you have a proper battery that can power your engine, have this fully charged to ensure the right diagnoses is given. continue reading http://www.automobileglobe.com/how-to-know-a-bad-car-starter/ |

The fuel pump plays a very important role in the car as it is the transport manager of fuel to the engine from the fuel tank. Therefore if it malfunctions, a situation where the engine either gets too much or very little fuel due to too much or very little pressure in the fuel line travelling from the tank to the engine. This will have negative effects on the performance of the car In a normal working condition fuel in the form of liquid gasoline needs to move from the tank to the engine where it is burned and power is generated to move the car. Noise is usually the first sign of bad wheel hub bearing. This kind of noises: chirping, squeaking, grinding, growling, moans, whining, these noises are heard from the car suspension when the car is motion. This noises changes can vary according to the direction. The noise becomes highlighted when you turn the direction of the worn bearing and either increases or decrease according to the speed. Another sign could include dancing tires, loose steering experience and decrease of noise upon application of the breaks. The physics in the clutch system is that that the driver depresses the clutch pedal, engages the gear or changes the gear releases the pedal, when increases the speed. This makes for a smooth transition into the already moving vehicle. The clutch starts by allowing the engine power to be given gradually at the start of a vehicle and interrupts the power without having to grinding gears during gear shifting. Depressing the clutch allows the engine’s power to be transferred to the transmission and drive wheels. Depressing the clutch ceases the power transfer and lets the engine continue rotating without the urge to move the wheels. Basically the clutch system is comprised of the flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and linkage while some other hydraulic clutch system uses additional components like a clutch slave and master cylinder. The flywheel is tied to the engine crankshaft which has teeth ar..... continue reading.......http://www.automobileglobe.com/facts-and-symptoms-of-bad-flywheel/ |

How To Detect Car Horn Faults LISTEN FOR SOUND:Check for any sound when the horn is energized. If there is, then know that the electrical circuitry is still intact. INSPECT THE HORN: loosen the horn, clean any rust, and set it back and if the horn does not sound run a jumper wire to it directly from the battery. If it still does not work, change it. FUSE: Check to see that the fuse that controls the two horns if there is not fuse is burnt, if it is then replace it and reenergize the horn. CHECK HORN BUTTON: observes to see whether there is any dirt particle obstructing the horn knob on your steering wheel that stops the horn from sounding. ELECTRICAL WIRING: have a mechanic check — the wiring attached to the horn, if all else fails. If it is damaged, repair or replace it. We wants to highlight some of this steps MANUAL METHOD Like already noted, this is a method recommended for just professionals and or skilled car owners. This form of repairs is basically carried out to check for (i) Leakages: this is imperative as the injector has other components like the balls, pintles and disc and most sealed properly to check for leakages. (ii)Fuel volume: proper supply of fuel in the right volume is supplied.(iii)Distribution: proper distribution of the fuel in its proper mixture is very important to ensure proper combustion. INJECTOR CLEANING KIT: before going about this, ensure you get the recommended kit for your car. Consult your kit operating manual for specific operating instruction. Most engine noise may not necessarily come from the top. It may come from some inner engine components. An observed piston knock for some moments in the engine may be cause of a cold piston and may cease when the engine becomes warm. This may be caused by a gap in between the cylinder and the piston.
