A 19-year-old boy, Dylan Westerburg has gunned down his 42-year-old mother and two neighbours before turning the gun on himself and pulling the trigger.

This incident happened in their home near Uvalde, about 85 miles west of San Antonio in Texas. Authorities arrived at the scene after a teenage witness called them.

Uvalde County Sheriff, Charlie Mendeke has confirmed the incident. He said Dylan Westerburg shot his mother Friday afternoon in their home and then went next door and killed two brothers, Authur Norton and Phinny Norton before killing himself. Westerburg lived with his mother in a small cabin about 20 yards from the Norton’s mobile home on the brothers’ property.

Investigators haven’t established a clear motive for the shootings.

Mandeke said 60-year-old Phinny had some sort of romantic relationship with Westerburg’s mother, Jennifer Diane Jacques. Deputies had been called in times past to the brother’s property because of domestic dispute, but nothing violent as this.


When officers arrived the scene and heard another gunshot they started evacuating people nearby because they weren’t sure if there were multiple gunmen or whether the gunman was dead.

It was during that search that they found Jacques’ body. The family’s dog had also been killed.

Mendeke said he called in about 50 to 60 officers from different agencies as well as a Texas Department of Public Safety SWAT team out of caution. Authorities closed the road leading to the property and they stayed there overnight.

On Saturday afternoon, the SWAT team eventually entered the Nortons’ mobile home and found the corpses of the Norton brothers and Westerburg. “Westerburg had shot himself in the head”, reported Mandeke.

Noela Rukundo, gave her ex-husband, Balenga Kalala, the shock of his life by turning up to her own funeral, after he had contacted hitmen to have her killed while they were still married.

Noela had met Kalala 11 years ago after she arrived in Australia from Burundi. He was then a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and they had the same social worker at the resettlement agency that helped them get on their feet.
Since Kalala already knew English, their social worker often recruited him to translate for Noela, who spoke Swahili. They fell in love, moved in together in the Melbourne suburb of Kings Park, and had three children (Noela also had five kids from a previous relationship).

She learned more about her husband’s past that he had fled a rebel army that had ransacked his village, killing his wife and young son. She also learned more about his character.

Problem started when she had returned to Burundi, her birth country, from her home in Melbourne, Australia, to attend her stepmother’s funeral and she lodged in a hotel. She told BBC that she had lost the last person who she called “mother”.

Noela said she had retreated to her hotel room at early hours of the evening and as she lay dozing in the muggy heat, she received a call from her husband in Australia.

“He says he’d been trying to get me for the whole day,” Noela says. “I said I was going to bed. He told me, ‘To bed? Why are you sleeping so early? I say, ‘I’m not feeling happy’. And he asks me, ‘How’s the weather? Is it very, very hot?’ He told me to go outside for fresh air.” Noela took his advice. “I didn’t think anything. I just thought that he cared about me, that he was worried about me.” But moments after stepping outside the hotel compound, Noela found herself in danger.

A Maryland man and father, Daron Boswell-Johnson was charged on Wednesday in the deaths of NeShante Davis a 26-year-old elementary school teacher and their 2-year-old daughter, Chloe Davis-Green. He has confessed to lying in wait for the mother and child outside their home early hours of Tuesday and then shooting them each multiple times. After shooting them, he fled the crime scene. This incidence happened outside late NeShante’s home at about 7 a.m. Tuesday in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Sources tell News4 that Daron was angry over $600 in monthly child support he had been ordered to pay. He had initially refused to pay it, asking for a DNA. He was confirmed to be Chloe’s father in December 2015 through a DNA test conducted as part of a paternity suit. The killer and his ex had had many confrontations over the child support payments but nobody suspected he would go this far, a close source said.
25-year-old Daron was arrested Tuesday in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County said Hank Stawinski the Interim Police Chief. Daron waived his Miranda rights and provided a statement to Prince George’s County police on Tuesday in which he confessed to the crime, according to court documents.

6months after 22-year-old Ndifreke Joseph Clement murdered his 23-year-old cousin Ubong Edet over a girl, he has decided to surrender himself to the police because he was disturbed by sleepless nights and traumatic experiences.

Clement, a native of Akon Itam, Itu Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, who handed himself over to police at Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, said he slashed his cousin’s throat after beating him to coma because Edet slept with his girlfriend in August 2015. He told Vanguard:

“I cannot remember the exact date now, but it occurred in a night in August 2015 in the one room apartment we shared. On that day, I returned from work to meet the door locked. Grace Utum, a 29-year-old graduate of Accounting, University of Calabar and a staff of Arik Air, has gone missing after a visit to 32-year-old Ihuoma Amelogu who happens to be her lover and who lives in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Grace who hails from Cross River State had left her Ikeja office for Ihuoma’s house on January 1, 2016, her whereabouts had since then been shrouded in mystery.

Grace was said to be working in the hospitality department of Arik Air. The case was reported at the Ojodu Police Division and Ihuoma was arrested. It was learnt that a mobile phone and a handbag belonging to the victim were found in his apartment on the day Grace went missing. He was released after police said there was nothing to connect him with the disappearance of Grace.

An uncle of the victim, Felix Omini, explained that the family became worried after her mother called one of her phone lines and a stranger picked the call and said the phone was missing and its owner had called him and said she and a man would be coming to retrieve the phone. Thereafter, Grace’s mother called her boyfriend, Ihuoma, thinking he was the man the stranger was referring to, but he said he had also been trying to reach her without success.

Omini said he had called Ihuoma and together they went to report the matter at the police station.

The victim’s father, Obongha Utum, said Grace and Amelogu are church members and have been dating for three years. They are church members and were supposed to have been married; but that became impossible after they discovered their genotypes were not compatible. He said.

Ihuoma who is a Civil Engineer said: “We were together on December 31, 2015; she slept at my place. She sometimes stayed at my place because her office in Ikeja is closer to my house in Ojodu Berger. She rented an apartment in Agbado Crossing, Ogun State. Around 6am on January 1, she said she was going to the office. We always had a family reunion every New Year at my uncle’s place in Ajah, so we planned to meet there. I spoke with her around 12 noon. Then around 3pm, when I was at my uncle’s place, we communicated again and I asked if she was still coming. She said she was rounding off at the office and would soon join me. Her line, however, became unreachable around 5pm and despite calling till 7pm, I couldn’t get through to her”.
