You will need your O'level result coz you will need it during Faculty registration which will start from first or second week of resumption.
So you should have your O level result before resumption.But I'm guessing you are 14/15,that means there is still time and you should get it before then.

You can.There is almost no room you'd enter that you won't find @least someone occupant with a laptop(maybe with Angola an exception).
In my room alone,3 people has.
That's not to say Laptops don't get stolen tho.But if you are not the really careless type,you can be assured it won't get stolen.

P.S-You can drop your laptop in many places but make sure one of them is not in your bag after dropping your bag in one of the numerous boxes you are required to drop your bag before entering the library.Coz I can assure you,there is 80% chance you won't see your precious gadget by the time you are through with whatever you went to do in the library.

The job self,might even quit soonest.It's a 12 Hour Job!!(8:00am-8:00pm).All I wanted was a job to just keep me busy: say like 8:00-2:00 or at worst 8:00-4:00 and not an extremely long hour job like this plus the job is really stressful(you are always standing most of the times) and I will also most probably not get my first salary coz we will most probably resume anytime from now.

As for the resumption date: I think "their soonest really means soonest" and the school will most probably resume anytime from now.

And concerning ETF,that one wey look like Sec. School hostel.That hall is just too boring and nothing interesting ever seems to happens there.

Look this is the breakdown:
Awo: Pros-Never a dull moment
Cons-Too clumsy,lousy and relatively dirty.
ETF: Pros-Relatively neat and a serene environment
Cons-That hall is too dull.
Faj: Da bomb! .It is kinda in btwn the aforementioned halls.Not too bubbling but @ the same time not as dull as Faj.Not as neat as ETF but @ the same time no where as dirty as AWO.

So MR.AWO just swallow some humble pie and agree FAJ is the best .

But it depends on personality sha.Some people like a quiet, environment and their personal space.If you are that type,ETF is the place for you and you will probably die of frustration if you happen to find yourself in AWO.While somebody like me prefer the AWO type of hall except for the dirtiness sha.

And as for your landlords,you are on a long thing o .I can assure you they are there to stay with you forever .Many Awoite stay in a particular room from their First year to their penultimate year,which after they will be given bedspace.
As I dy look you sef,you are a "Landlord" in the making

depends on the lecturer: dem get levels pass themselves.
Plus I think,the Lecturer that wants to help you in lobbying will definitely know himself if he is capable of pulling strings.

There was one of my friend like that that had similar problem to yours,although his deals with O level result.
He didn't not have @least credit in one of the required subjects for the course he was admitted for.
When he went to the admission office for registration purpose,he was @ first sent away.Immediately he called his dad.His dad called one lecturer like that(obviously the type that has legs) and they both came down to the admission office together to meet him.Altogether they all went to see the guy in charge of the registration stuff.
When they got there,the guy in charge told them it won't be possible for him to get that course but he can be given another one instead.He was given fine-art.
Quite unfortunately(or maybe fortunately for him as you would see later),he also did not have @leastcredit in one of the subjects required for Fine-art.
Then as I said earlier,fortunately for him the admission officer gave him Accounting as he had all the required credit in his O level result

The truth is that,from the beginning if this guy was told choose btwn the course he first chose(can't remember the course again) and Accounting,he would have definitely chose Accounting.

So there you have it,you may prolly get a lecturer to lobby for you but whether they will give you your desired course or one that fits your UME combo is another thing.
Plus I think someone said a thing abt this topic.Whether it was this thread or last year admission thread,I'm not sure about.

By "someone" lobbying for you,I hope you mean someone that really has a "long" leg coz one thing you should know is that,these admission officers are like Visa officers and what do they both have in common?,"they are used to people begging them".

So first of all,it will be really hard for you to get that course but again,I really don't know "how long your leg is".
Again,make no mistake,pple beg these people year in year out,so don't think they will have mercy on you just coz you are crying in their office and make sure the person that will be lobbying for you really has "Long legs" and not just some random person.

Not sure but I really doubt it

First is the issue of bedspace allocation
But more importantly is the issue of Lecture halls containing students.

For a "normal" set,CHM classes which takes place in 1000st are divided into 2 groups and even after this division,people still don't get seats @ times or get a seat @ the far back where they won't hear what the lecturers are saying.
Or is it Zoo class you want to talk about.Just enter anytime Zoo class is on and you will see people jam packed like Sardines(All this in 1 set o)
Not to now even talk of how they will manage to schedule the practicals for 2 sets.

All in all sha I doubt the merging's feasibility.

But if @ all they will go ahead with this plan(merging),then be assured,it's the current aspirant that will suffer coz consequentially they will want to admit just little number of Students for the new session.

indo87com: Only cited ppt stats cos dat along with dbt were da only stats released by Jamb,not withstandiing utme scores were much lower dis year dan every other year I av heard of. Backing my point is d case of Nsukka where they arrange putme candidates in order of utme score and da highest score for med/surg was 273 ppt dbt and cbt!
And on da post utme front,only 90 scored above 300, up frm 44 last yr, ya it doubled bt dat can't make up for da generally low utme scores

Also tried looking for CBT jamb's statistics,couldn't find any.So one can't be really sure of the overall performance but notwithstanding I think CBT candidates fared well compared to their PPT counterparts.

Let's just hope and pray OAU does not release a high cut-off mark coz once you beat the cut-off mark,you can be assured your course without unnecessary use of long leg.
When I was in first Year,a roommate of mine who came in for Pharmacy(that was 2012/2013) had exactly the same mark as the Merit list mark(the cut-off was very low that year,I think it was 238 or so) and his name came out on the admission list without knowing anybody or stepping inside the admission office even once.

And let me add,if the rumour of merging happens to be true,I think that will affect the cut-off marks(it will make it higher) as they will want to admit far less candidates than as usual due to limited resources.

Yeah I doubt the cut-off will be that high.

In Year 2011,there was mass pass in UME that year.If I could recollect,OAU had upto 40,000 applicant for their Post-Utme and the Post-Utme itself was not that hard.

Now comparing that with this year.Relatively to 2011,UME score this year was fairly low and also OAU had just over 14000 applicant.

So my thought is that cut-off won't be as high as 2011 but @ the same time won't be very low.Thinking it will probably be just a bit higher that of 2013.

Note: My analysis deals more with science student.Don't really know about Arts an Commercial coz this one wey dem write the PUME like say na common entrance dem go do.
