Chiamaka01: @leitner, i think the fees are appropriate, not because i can afford it, but because, i think, that the quality of education offered is worth the fee.

Nobody ever said the quality is not worth the amount. What people like me are saying is that the masses should not suffer as a result of the government not performing their duty. And their duty is funding the school. It's a federal school for crying out loud. Finances used in Private unis are conventionally generated by student's fees while that of Government's are meant to be conventionally generated by the government. As said by the PRO of the school,It is true that as of recent,govt have not been really funding the school but why should the poor masses then suffer bcoz of inability of the govt to DO THEIR JOB?. Why just after couple of months after staying @ home for 6 months in a struggle for proper funding of govt owned schools should the school management callously increase school fees and in the process killing people's dreams like my friend's?, What then is the different btwn Private UNIS and Public UNIS when we have to start paying for the two?

And would you still have this mindset of you actually really can't afford the fees?

Don't know whether anybody has confirmed it but Jaryeh was right. Went to Health sciences tonight and this is a pictorial evidence.

It has to be the first and also my last Job.
It was a 12hr Job,fvcking strenuous. The height of it was when the day the owner of the pharmacy store told me I can't and should not wear a 3/4 again(to say he know how much I buy that 3/4). On top wetin?! , how much you wan dey pay me per month?!,on top attendant job,make I con go shop for Tuxedos?.
To cut the long story short,with is rules coupled with the fact school will resume soonest,I decided that day will be my last day in his store and I don't for once regret that decision .

I'm extremely gutted that you of all people will say something like this. Probably bcoz you can afford the new fees is why you have this kind of mindset. Just today,I mean just a few hours ago,a friend of mine that got admitted to for a course in one of the departments in Health sciences for the current 100 level set,told me he can't afford the new structured fees and as such won't resume. Just like that,a young boy's hope has been dashed just bcoz some fat-bellied id|ots sat at a round table and decided to increase the school fee,saying education is not cheap anywhere,thereby making reference to a 1st world countries when in reality we are in a 3rd world country. 1st world Countries like US,UK with high college fees also have high employment rate and relatively far better income. Or Another scenario,just imagine as you've gained admission now,the school management then decide to triple the school fee and the school fee ended up been an amt you can't afford. Just imagine the pain you will go through: after all the hardwork!; in a flash now,you can't study your dream course again.

The new fee is not a problem for me,it's also most probably not a problem for you too but believe me in a 3rd world country like Nigeria,it's still a problem for a sizable number of people and. I think anybody,just bcoz it's not a problem for him/her,should think the increment in fee is right and people protesting against it are nothing but just stubborn people.





@ Jaryeh,abeg which side you see the cut-offs for College of Health sciences?. I've been there,didn't see anything but of course,given how quite big it is with numerous notice boards,it's possible it's there and I didn't see it.

As for those doubting the Law cut-off marks,it's authentic. Below is a pictorial evidence. You'd notice the Paper was pinned on the secretary to dean's Door. And I don't think anybody would be stup|d enough to go and paste a false info on that door in broad daylight.

Pharmacy-not yet out
Health sciences-Someone said Medicine is 275 but I think it's a rumour coz I did not see any circular whatsoever in the faculties that make up coll of Health sciences.

Social sciences-not yet out

Sciences-not out.

So there you have it,I think it's only Law and Admin that are out.

Brace yourselves though,coz the rest will be out soonest and by soonest,I mean like tomorrow or before the end of the week.

On a more serious note,although these kind of stuffs do happen to people but mostly only to those that sit at home all through during the admission process. And you said you had 'legs',that was why I was surprised. Infact,without knowing anybody,just storm the admission office building and approach any well dressed person(no go meet cleaners o ),do your face like pesin wey don write jamb 12 times and narrate your ordeal I.e you had an aggregate of over 200 and still yet,you don't have an admission. Believe me,it's either the person helps you or directs you to someone that will (I know someone that did this).


P.S- You will most likely be given 'OAU's course of choice' rather than your choice of course though.

Basically,you can cross from almost all departments in BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES,which are: Botany,MCB,BCH,Zoology. Yeah 4,I think that's just it.

A world of advice though: It's is by far better to enter for your course of choice than thinking of crossing coz-
1) Not trying to scare you,but it's kinda hard to get a high GP in OAU which you will need for 'crossing'.

And

2) Even if you eventually get a high GP(Which if you are determined,is very much possible),it is still very hard to cross to the department of your choice except you know "people". And when I say "know people",I don't mean just some ordinary Lecturer.

And as for the Med Rehab part. Don't really know much about that as people from 'that kind' of departments rarely try to cross to Medicine. But according to a 'knowledgeable source'- If say a MRH students want to study Medicine,after completion of his 5 year course in MRH,he/she can start in 300 lvl as a Medicine student and vice-versa I.e A medicine students that wants to change his/her course.

But pls,again note-except you are somehow related to Omole or your Dad happens to be the Dean of faculty of health sciences,I would advice you to take another UME and focus all your attention and Energy on it(and i believe with great determination,you'd easily enter for the course of choice).
You can also make further researches and finally,do what pleases you
