u will have 2 konsidar d breeding ( i.e wat skools hav dey atended) the organisations dey hav woked 4, is it kompatible wit yr kompany's structure, their strengths & wiknesses, wat do u want in a kanditate. Well all of dis mite not count in a naija kompany because, its all about one kanditate outdoin the other, but if u ar considerin a multi-national org, den wat u hav 2 offer koms first. |
wow! this thread is still on, what is the sucsess rate of appeals these days? |
@lovelytits i feel your pain, i have once been there, but i will still advice you to be patient, read up and prepare for your PG course, its not worth it giving out that huge amount to any university in the U.K. @Ebonyi I am sure the schools you mentioned are those asian schools or Emilly Rose, well you cant use(corner shop schools) them for immigration purposes, maybe for visa extension, but immigration? NO, and very soon they will not be tenable for visa extension |
lovelitts it's ok if u reapply for january, but be sure that you are not foregoing your true ambition all in a rush to get to the U.K., because the average foreign graduate cant even get a decent office job, so if you want to eat a frog, i will advice you eat the one with eggs, dont rush be patient, the high commission will keep issuing visas for another 100 years(hopefully). |
doesn't any one have any gist about these guys yet? I have known these guys to always flash there wedding ring, what's really up? unlike ray i dont pray for a break-up, those guys are like the perfect couple, though one can never tell. |
i saw mariam on her show the top 5 on 5, well at first she was wearing a very very tight top, and i was really suprised sinc i haven't seen her wear any of those sinc she got married to charles, only to discover a few seconds later that she wasn't wearing her wedding ring, but the real shock came on sunday when charles also didn't wear his. who knows what are those two still together? |
@all i know u guys will think this suggestion is 'iffy' but dont u just get the feeling that the ait has suddenly become tough on applicants. @brownbaby Nice to kow that the ait made a mistake in your case, but i dont think you should be worried a review of the case doesn't neccessarily require new documents, you can however supply it if you feel it would enhance your case. Are u still with that lawyer? |
@debony the ait can actually tell you the outcome of your appeal either via phone or email, if you send an email it would take 5 working days at most. |
in africa today the most educated tribe is the yoruba tribe, after which you have the masai tribe in Kenya, the ibos(are not formally educated, and the hausas are, |
It's funny when people say some parents signed an agreement before their wards were admmitted to the school, if the contents of the signed document are what we have heard so far, the ''contract'' is not binding because it does not follow the guidilines of the law of contract, or is covenant no longer in Nigeria,we have heard some many ludricious tales about water being sold on the campus without a nafdac number and the school authority saying it does not need a nafdac number, anyways we are waiting for the school to take such a foolish step we will only be to glad to milk some money out of them, afterall what goes around comes around. |
the problem with us in Nig is that we are too dogmatic, we follow every man of God and swallow whatever he says hook line and sinker, in nigeria a man of God is a god of men. |
@kelly24 i didnt get u, u didnt submit yr sponsor's bank statement of account or u have more than one, of course you can submit additional documents for your appeal, though in that case it will be better if you submit your appeal here in lagos, but if you feel you still have time to make another application, i think that will be better. |
@ armed lion u make me laugh, listen i have seen someone who was denied based on this, the guy's passport was stained with palmoil, the embassy said they were not sure about his travel status, that he had used chemicals in tampering with relevant info. @boy steve if u havn't applied with the passport before and you still have time, i will advice that you get another, those oyinbos cant understand why anyone will mishandle his passport, the will just make a foolish conclusion. |
@Miztee shares are good but plesae you will have to do the valuing yourself because if you dont those guys will just ignore it, You can easily get a newspaper clipping to do this. @Kelly4life If you've got enough yime and money a reapplication is better as long as you can resolve the issues raised in the first application, even if you are refused again it makes your case better for an appeal because the ECo will have no cogent reason for denying you. |
@Miztee I agree with mrpataki, you can use share certificates, but you will have to do the valuing yourself and send it there. |
Hello, I am a student who will soon start a postgraduate course in the U.k, I am really curious about so many nigerians in the U.k, students espesially, what is the sucsess rate? and what are the challenges? |
@sayasuyi tell us, how did it go? I'm rooting for you, but i know the odds are against you, if you've lost no one will say"we told you so." |
@sayasuyi Sorry if i didnt get yr name right, what's up wit yr application? |
@somebody I am going to study refinery design and operation at the university of manchester, i can also speak russian(conversational), i plan on studying arabic soon also, what exactly do you think are my chances of getting a place in a very reputable company like shell if i come out with an excellent grade in my masters program? |
@casperc100 Man i feel your pain, but if i remember yr case well it was about your english proficiency, did you do an IESL exam to correct the opinion b4 making the appeal, well wait until you get your determination before making any decision, but maybe you can also reapply, the key is in not giving up. i made 3 applications within 2 years, i have also lost an appeal before, so i know how you must feel. My case was worse than yours but the advantage you have is that any application you make is treated independent of others. If you dont give up you will get it. |
i got my visa yesterday, i am making travel plans now, the 12000 pounds(tuition fees) just became a reality, i heard i cant defer, na wa o. i am happy but still confused, even student ticket na 183,000 naira, i thought it was just 70,000 naira, anyway God dey. Thanks to you all. |
@brownbaby Wow are you sure about this your lawyer, interestingly the same sentence was used by the Eco when i was denied a visa, my reasons for thinking this guy is fake are 1 That was supposed to be a simple appeal. 2 In MY OPINION the Eco was very soft with oral appeals this year, once they knew u had an airtight case they didnt even wait so long for a hearing. 3what's with poor eyesight in an oral hearing? I would advice that you think well about this your guy. |
@ All I have been asked to come pick my visa, (i was sent 2 mails) but interestingly, i was asked to come with a letter of unconditional offer from THE U.k instituion, i guess the word ''the'' clarifies that i must go with the letter of offer from that very school, sorry 4 my earlier coment on the matter, especialy razzy, it was a wrong opinion. Excerpts from the letter: You will need to provide: * Your valid passport * Students must provide an original valid unconditional acceptance letter from the UK institution. |
@hannydarl Wow interesting, were you in istanbul on friday/saturday, if you were, i think our experience on that day was just a one off, they had so many problems on that day, but i am not taking breif for them, they definitely have to improve. |
@VOR this illegal working thing na wa o, i haave a 20 hour working visa, but can i work for about 40 hrs if i have 2 different jobs, i thought it was possible until my cousin in the U.k told me this week that i migth not be able to hold down 2 jobs without the authority knowing, is this true? |
@ what will the high commission ask me to bring along after winning a student appeal, when i am called to collect my visa. I have a feeling those guys (awon oyinbo) are reading this forum, i just think we should be a little more careful with posts on this forum. |
hello, i got a mail from the university asking if i can teach russian, unfortunately my russian isn't that good and i hav a working visa for 20 hrs, i have replied telling them i am available for only administrative work. |

@casperc100 wow it's interesting that they havent heard yr case, well in my cas ei worried those guys kept sending mails and faxed letter asking them to be prompt( but i sincerely dont think that helped in expediting my case, i beleive it followed the proper time course) maybe this week something will come out, just remain hopeful and pray. |
