The biggest treat to democracy today in Nigeria are the governors and not the presidency as most of us have been brain washed to believe. For a start do you as a resident of your state know how much comes into your state and how it is spent? In addition to their Federal Allocation and IGRs, they have crippled the LGAs, pocketing their monthly allocations in the process. Giving them state police is empowering them to continue the criminality. Accountability first... |
Nigerian oil firms to be required to supply 483,000 bpd to local refineries By Isaac Anyaogu December 29, 20237:36 PM GMTUpdated a day ago LAGOS, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Nigerian oil producers will be required to supply 483,000 barrels per day (bpd) to local refineries in the first six months of 2024, new regulations showed on Friday, as Africa's largest oil exporter seeks to guarantee supplies for local refining. The Dangote oil refinery and at least three government-run refineries are among local refineries that are expected to begin operations in 2024. The 650,000-barrel-per-day Dangote refinery will receive the biggest volume of 325,000 bpd, according to newly published Domestic Crude Supply Obligation guidelines from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). NUPRC data showed that six refineries were expected to be operational from 2024, with total refining capacity of 864,500 bpd, meaning that oil producers would be required to supply just over half of the crude requirements. A Petroleum Industry Act passed in 2021 introduced a requirement for oil producers in Nigeria to supply part of their crude to domestic refineries so they are not starved of crude supplies, but this has yet to be enforced. NUPRC said the refineries would pay global market prices for the crude. A total of 48 oil producers, including majors TotalEnergies (TTEF.PA), Chevron (CVX.N), Shell and ExxonMobil (XOM.N) will participate in the programme, and production is to come mostly from their joint venture operations with Nigerian state oil firm, the NNPCL participates. https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/nigerian-oil-firms-be-required-supply-483000-bpd-local-refineries-2023-12-29/ |
Like I said in one of my response yesterday, the country is in a very precarious situation when the issue of leadership pops up. It does not matter what side of the political divide we find ourselves right now, the tomorrow of the country is not looking bright. The question begging for our attention is: 'What's the way forward?' The current system is skewed against the common man and it will remain so for a long time to come. |
For once let's ask ourselves the question: Where is the complete financial report of the campaign this woman said she was going to release immediately the Supreme Court gives her verdict? See eh... Most of the opposition leaders are even worse if not out rightly worse than those in power. She has seen an office and she will ultimately make use of it as long as there are gullible supporters out there. Indeed! Nigeria's hope of a better tomorrow is not looking good if these are the best character that opposition can present as leaders. Even if there was to be an outright 'revolution' like Sowere is calling for, who are those to be trusted with the baton? Odewaleadesoye: |
The real problem of Nigeria's democracy are the governors. The day you know this, you will know peace. I so submit... |
To say you are 100% correct is stating the obvious. Permit me to add a twist to your conviction. For me personally, no offense intended anyways. I believe that what Peter Obi and his gang seems to be doing was perfectly summarized by Lamidi Apapa faction in one of their press release recently. Where they claimed that PO and his gang are committing high level fraud with this court case. This was stylishly backed up by Aisha Yesufu, when she said they will not release the financial report of the campaign till SC delivers judgement. Guys, something is obviously fishing but as usual, their follows will always turn a blind eye at their activities and illegalities. |
When a man has paid his dues, he deserves elevation... You played your card diligently and smartly during the last election cycle. I hope you will not forget the suffering masses in your exalted office like you did overseeing NDDC? |
Good one! This was exactly what I analysed for some of these political neophyte but they refused to understand nor accord appropriate respect to Jagaban. The truth is that his 'Emilokan' slogan was not a fuse but a well thought out representation of his political chronicles for the presidency. He earned my respect the day I realized that he was far ahead of his detractors. He was humble, strategic, ready to lose today for the greater good of tomorrow (did you remember how Oshiomhole was treated as national chairman after delivering Buhari?) and in all, he had his eyes on the goal(to become a president). I think rather than this backlash and hatred from some youth, they should start learning some of his steps as guide to rise politically. Asiwaju as governor of Lagos gave every tribe in Lagos a level playing field irrespective of your religious and tribal leaning. Congratulations, His Excellency, President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Nigeria's latest GCFR) - May your tenure bring peace, prosperity and progress to Nigeria and Nigerians notwithstanding their political affiliation, Religion or Region of Origin/Resident. Emilokan, Awa lokan,... |
Congratulations |
Where did you vote if you even voted. You can check irev for the result of your polling unit. If it's different from what was declared, contact your party they will pick it up from there. Stop supporting war mongers... Please... Massiveglory: |
I have said it a couple of times that the emotional position of the LP and PDP will cause more harm than good to Nigeria and Nigerians. There is a difference between results collation (which is currently ongoing at ICC) and results announcement (as stipulated in the electoral act). While SDM and his cohorts were displaying their ignorance yesterday, I told some friends that INEC will do the right thing, let's give them the benefit of doubt. Now, check most of the results uploaded thus far, they clearly exonerate the commission (INEC) of any wrongdoings. Obasanjo has allowed himself to be dragged into partisan politics again, I don't know why he keeps dropping the little honour and goodwill he currently enjoys via the magnanimity of kind hearted Nigerians. Fellow Nigerians, let's give the process the chance to run its full course and if the uploaded results from your unit is different from what is on the irev portal, contact your political party and let them present such at the tribunal. Nigeria youth, please don't listen to war mongers, they have the resources to 'japa' at the first sight or odour of crisis, leaving you to suffer untold hardship. Nigeria shall be great... |
Hmm, if they have ears at all o. Congratulations to Asiwaju - the president elect. But wetin make Lp and PDP agent run sef. Victory is sweet. |
Emilokan! Congratulations sir... |
Congratulations! Emilokan... |

Honestly! He is called Jagaban for a reason. He was the only presidential candidate that questioned the status quo - the masses should note this. Na only him stand up for the suffering masses when all the rest dey play 'snake in the monkey shadow'. Feb 25th is not far. A vote for Jagaban is a vote for liberation... Mark my words here. |
Where you for read this one again. Una mata dey tire person. kaeycea: |
WOW! This is the most sensible, non bias and intelligent analysis that I have read on Nairaland for a long time now. Thanks alot. He that have ears let them hear ooooo. jumper524: |
Hi, How can someone track his visa application status? |
Like Yahaya Bello. Disaster! Lol! Stop using age as your main criteria for making your choice please. The truth is that Nigeria is in a dilemma - how many honest, corrupt free, upright, e.t.c Nigerians can comfortably afford our average presidential campaign fund? Without mincing words Nigeria requires an urgent surgical procedure done as soon as possible but how this would be done remains the huge question. Benesis: |
That means Toyota Camry 2002 Nigeria used would be almost 2m now o. This Corolla is really the crave of the day. uncleck: |
Hi, I want to thank this platform for the education and guidance I have received here. I did my biometrics this week. While uploading my documents I left out my name authentication affidavit. For the record, my NECO certificate carries three names while others are only two names. I hope this wouldn't affect me? @Justwise and other seniors |
Hello, My POF will mature by next week and I intend to apply this week in order to secure a favourable date next week for my biometrics. I need advise on the best approach to proceed: 1. Should I opt for assisted service, if I do in what format should my documents be in (mind you I have most of my documents in PDF file)? - I am not unaware of the extra cost of this option. 2. Can I also apply, pay my IHS and VISA fee but wait for my POF next before uploading all documents. Please, help me out with this, guru in the house. |
Hi, Has anyone be debited for form A this week? What is the exchange rate? Please, it's urgent, asking for a friend. |
My bro, I don't know how I will be able to eat now o. I cancelled my form A shortly after receiving the mail this morning. So, so, heart broken... I have also written to them to defer to September while considering if I will go to Teesside. Do you have another May/June offer? You might start considering such likewise. SerendipityHere: |
Thanks alot bali233: |
Hi, For those who have used E-form A, at what point did you enter your student ID number? |
Hi gurus in the house, Has anyone been able to change their route (either from with placement or vise versa) after receiving unconditional offer? University of Northampton precisely. |
