The Suoer recommended by the OP. got it in November from the same source.

My smart charger is no longer working. It simply shows green light while connected to the batteries, no red. However, all my batteries are dead. I don't mind repairing it myself if I know what to replace.

Phones › Re: 5 Reasons Why NETFLIX In Nigeria Is A Good News For All by Leopantro: 9:57am On Jan 08, 2016
4 REASONS WHY NETFLIX IS BAD NEWS.

1. Netflix content for Nigerian market will have limited / lower content compared to American content.
2. Will be dependent of heavy data usage thus will spend more on data.
3. Must stream high quality videos. Erratic Internet access and supply will make buffering a problem
4. Unique monopoly. Channel O and Nigerian music videos Saga comes to mind.

Considering Netflix is Internet based while DSTV uses a totally different platform, I don't think it will force DSTV to reduce prices. Infact, I expect multichoice prices to go up based on high cost of dollar.

Best option, get Kodi

LOVEGINO:
wia can I get Android MXiii box here in Nigeria?
Though I have an android TV box, you don't need it for this.
My problem with torrent is that people can bundle malware, Trojans or viruses with the film.
Considering that the Netflix for the Nigerian viewers will be limited in connect, what's the point, considering the size of the videos. Netflix does not allow you to choose the quality, hence the size of video.

With Genesis (TVMC) you have full access to all and more of Netflix contents and you can choose the quality of the video to stream or download. Network speed can also be selected for poor Internet speed.
Using low quality LQ, I downloaded the whole season 9 of the big bang theory with 1gb of data and the quality is beautiful.
You can choose Low quality, Medium quality, High quality, 720p and 1080p.

So with roughly 40k u can get ur own mini inverted, my laptop alone on my mini inverter lasts more than 26hrs

Don't go for small AH batteries, I started with, a 650ups and a 12v 7ah battery, then moved to blue gate ups 1200va that uses 2 batteries, I wasn't content with the time, then I bought 12v 18ah and used it with my 650va ups with my 26inch lcd then , I still didn't get enough time cos nepa can frustrate u, I changed my lcd TV to 32inch and bought another 12v 18ah , the time no still reach me, I bought. Fullriver 40ah, the timing wasn't ok with my 160watts 32inch, then I bought a 15inch monitor with AV input that is just 24watts, then I bought 42ah battery and it was almost perfect with my 15inch lcd monitor, then I later add jara on more 42ah battery, now I can't miss my popular programs on gotv or my dvd series, once ur battery is full u go get rest of mind

Close eye buy as from 100ah - 200ah, but I will recommend from 150ah - 200ah , then be rest assured of enough power in ur living room, I started with smaller ones for testing, go for big ones
How long does your 160watts 32 inch TV last on it?

Thank goodness you said the patient would have been stablized in the ambulance in developed world - the more reason why he should have attempted to stabilize the critical ones he triaged since that did not happen in Nigeria. In this case, come down your high horse - we are in Nigeria, we are not in the UK or USA. There is no red code in our ER, there is paucity of doctors and nurses. In this case calling his other house officers was good to help, but then get to work before calling your second!

-CramJones
That you agree that he did something good is okay for me. Please note that his story was on the lady that died. What makes you so sure he wasn't working on the other patients before he made the call to his senior. I'm also happy you said there is a pausity of doctors and nurses. Kindly acknowledge that they do super human capabilities in under equipped hospitals not worthy to take care of animals, more so humans.

You still don't get it...do you? Why did he make the call in the first place? Is that what a first-on-call suppose to do on sighting accident victims. What happened to the ABCD of resuscitation? What happened to being the first on call? How did he know his limit when he did not even set a simple line? Even if he was referring shouldn't the patients at least have a line for IV access? Are you really defending this profoundly dumb and criminal action by the OP? Are you really that stuupid?

-CramJones
Please note that I have not insulted you but let me educate you as you are hell bent on showing your ignorance.
In UK and USA you keep quoting, in events of mass casualties a code is called. That code is call all doctors in the location to provide support because the number of casualties are beyond the capability of the ER doctors. Also note that in UK or USA, the emergency room has more than one experienced doctor always on ground but in this case only one doctor was in the ER. Finally, in UK and USA you keep quoting, the ambulance service would have stabilised the patients before presenting at the hospital. Here, the patients where in the booth of a police jeep
watch HOUSE or Gray's anatomy.

I totally understand this scenario. And I tell you this is completely different from what this house officer faced. If you are a doctor, you should not be defending him. In your case, the baby died as a result of a broken system. In this Op's case, the patients died as a result of his incompetence and ineptitude. He did not perform his duty as a first on call. He was scared seeing accident victims, panicked and started making calls without doing nothing!

-CramJones
I had to go back to re - read again to get the full story
1. He triaged the patients. A number of patients presented to him. Out of the first set, he isolated two patients in critical condition that were beyond his capability to care for them and immediately started the protocol for referal.
2. He knew his limit and contacted a senior doctor as well as called for assistance which he got.

The error was the order demanding he should not treat or else, as the first in call he had shown the proper initiative as a doctor to care for patients.
By the way, there were two sets of patients brought in. Why should preferences be given to only one patient out of the 10 brought in?

Nonesense! The MO would be sacked not the other way round! This is a clear case of incompetence by both the HO and the MO. The MO obviously not wanting to be disturbed gives a foolish excuse! Since the HO prooved his incompetence by calling the MO first, the MO would have been on the phone instructing the the HO on steps to stabilize the patients.

-CramJones
You obviously don't work in Hospitals. The HO did the right thing by calling the MO. As a doctor, know your limit. Even consultants call other consultants for assistance ; it's called consult

You are not a doctor, you have never worked in the Nigerian system, so just keep quiet. Even the foolish doctor that started this thread, knows that he is a major factor the patient died, not the hospital or any government policy. His ineptitude, incompetence, and half-baked knowledge killed the patient.

-CramJones
But you are wrong. I am a doctor and I work in the Nigerian system. Let me give you a story.
Some time ago I delivered a pre-term baby that is a baby born at 24 weeks . Immediately after birth the baby stopped breathing. The hospital I worked with didn't have oxygen and the two incubators where in use. I used my own oxygen cylinder on the baby and did ambubagged that is cardiac massage in the baby for it to breath normally. We entered my car and rushed to LASUTH. We were told no bed space and were referred to LUTH. We drove to LUTH, parked at the car park and walked over a 7 minutes to the pediatric ward where we were told they had no free incubator and had no electricity supply. We were referred to a private hospital in Surulere where the consultant was not around. We decided to go back to our hospital to continue care for the baby. Please note that all this time I was doing cardiac massage on this baby while someone else drove. On our way back to the hospital, the oxygen finished, the baby turned blue and died. We got back to the hospital and the husband beat me up for not saving the baby. This happened 4 years ago ; till date I have not received a dime for what I did. This is what happens everyday.

would you have been sacked if you had treated them without pay?
He was given a direct order by a senior doctor not to treat. In an ideal setting, he will answer a query. From a doctor's standpoint, if he went ahead to treat, he will not be punished.
But Nigeria is not an ideal setting. Doctors have been sacked for disobeying senior doctors. As a junior doctor he must be under supervision, a case can be made from there.

You are such an idiot to assert that! What he is saying is true. An accident victim came, you could not even at least do the following:

-Secure IV access, since they may be loosing blood.

-Take blood for urgent PCV, grouping and cross-matching for any emergency transfusion that the critical ones you triaged may need.

-At least examine the patient as a whole, look out for areas of injury, palpate the abdomen and make sure there is no guarding that could suggest internal organ rupture like the spleen.

-Provide pain relief etc etc.

-Did they not teach you the ABC of rescusitationhuh? You don't know that A starts for

A- Airway
B-Breathing
C- Cardiac function
D - Drugs
E - Examination (Quick)

- How stupiid are you that critical patients would be brought to your center (Accident and Emergency), and the first thing you are saying is for them to be referred? Is your work place a Babalawo center that you have to refer them at just sighting them? Won't you make sure that they are in stable condition first.

-You are stupidly calling on the government - to do what? Are they doctors? Do they know how to rescucitate patients? you foolishly called your lazy asss medical officer...what do you expect...huh Infact, if I am Seun and moderators, I would ban you from Nairaland!

-You are a house officer for goodness sake, the first on call, you ought to have stabilized the patients before calling anyone.

-You should be ashamed to call yourself a doctor. If anything you and the hospital should be sued and made to repeat your housemanship!

Nonsense!

-CramJones
Instead of insulting him, insult the policy that does not have in place emergency care for accident patients. We keep quoting civilized countries but what has your country put in place for such situations? The only thing he could do from your list , he did it I.e examination. There are hospitals in Nigeria without oxygen cylinders, blood or blood products or drugs for normal patients. Every other thing on your list requires money, who will pay? The hospital should have a plan for such events but obviously they don't. Is it the doctors fault that the hospital is ill equipped for him to save lives. He not only has a conscience that he called other doctors to help at least he knew his limit. I know of government hospitals that will not allow you to enter the hospital ;from the gate you will be referred to another hospital. You could use his story as a rally point to demand efficient health care in our hospitals but it is better to attack the messenger.
Until we call a spade a spade Nigerians will continue to suffer.

You are not kidding; the 40AH batteries are very scarce, including the fakes.the bluegate UPS is also scarce. Was contemplating sending money to the OP to buy the 100AH battery for me when I met an engineer who works for MTN this morning. The guy sold a used 200AH battery for the same price to me. Also bought a Mercury Elite Pro UPS.

It could be just me but when I charged the batteries with generator, the UPS became very hot and the top slightly melted. What I now do is charge the battery separately from the UPS then connect everything together when I want to use it.

Using the character Rayden, he modified him to look like a Babalawo and named him SANGO. When the deep voice says ROUND ONE, FIGHT. you will hear the character say YOUR HEAD HAS SPOILT in yoruba. It was hilarious.
Health › Doctors Utilize Google Cardboard To Repair A Girl's Heart by Leopantro(op): 4:25am On Dec 23, 2015
Teegan Lexcen, deemed inoperable after her birth in Minnesota, sleeps in a small crib festooned with Christmas blankets in an ICU room at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Santa’s toy factory couldn’t be a happier place.

The 4-month-old is ready for her first Christmas with her family in Miami after a seven-hour open-heart operation at Nicklaus. She’s on the mend, doctors say, because of a small cardboard box and a smartphone.

Virtual reality imaging, using an iPhone tucked inside a Google Cardboard device, which looks like the box a Baby Boomer’s childhood View-Master came in, was used for the first time to plan Teegan’s complex pediatric procedure on Dec. 10. The Google Cardboard turns a smartphone into a low-cost stereoscopic virtual reality viewer that doctors can use to convert a two-dimensional CT scan into a three-dimensional model of a tiny heart. The image is uploaded and used in the operating room for the clearest view in which to make delicate repairs.

DOCTORS AT NICKLAUS USED VIRTUAL REALITY IMAGING ON PIONEERING OPEN-HEART SURGERY ON AN INFANT. THE TOOLS: GOOGLE CARDBOARD AND AN IPHONE.

Teegan, one of the twins born Aug. 20 to Cassidy and Chad Lexcen of Minnesota, was born with only one lung and a critically deformed heart. The left side of her heart was severely underdeveloped, there was blockage of the main conduit of blood from the heart, no left pulmonary artery and other daunting problems. Since she had no left lung, her heart displaced into her left chest cavity.

Doctors in Minnesota deemed the newborn inoperable — “a word we hate here,” said Dr. Redmond Burke, Nicklaus’ director of cardiovascular surgery — and sent her home with her healthy identical twin sister, Riley. The Lexcens were told to make their baby as comfortable as possible and prepare to let her go.

“The family was given the worst prognosis you can imagine,” Burke said at a news conference Tuesday morning at Nicklaus, 3100 SW 62nd Ave.

Chad and Cassidy Lexcen took to the Web until they found a team at Nicklaus who felt they had the means to attempt surgery.

BEING INNOVATIVE SEEMS TO BE THE GOAL FOR THIS HOSPITAL AND ITS DOCTORS, AND INNOVATION IS WHAT SAVED OUR DAUGHTER’S LIFE.
Cassidy Lexcen, on the team of doctors and virtual reality imaging used for her infant’s heart surgery.

Yet, even the Nicklaus doctors were divided, Burke said. Dr. Juan Carlos Muniz, Nicklaus’ director of cardiac MRI, had been studying three-dimensional technology. “I went to Dr. Muniz and asked him what imaging technology we could use, and we came up with a repair that had never been done before,” said Burke, who performed the surgery. “There are certainly more expensive technologies you could use to look at virtual imaging, but I thought this was really elegant because it’s essentially a cardboard box.”

After four days, Teegan rallied. “This cute little baby inspired all of us because she’s the chunky, happy baby we want her to be,” Burke said. “You won’t find two parents who fight harder for their kids and for their family.”

Cassidy Lexcen, a mom of four, including daughter Harper, 6, and son Asher, 3, cradles Teegan’s twin, Riley.

THERE IS NO BOOK YOU COULD OPEN TO DETAIL TEEGAN’S HEART OR THE STEPS TO DO AN OPERATION. IF WE’RE GOING TO DO THESE REVOLUTIONARY OPERATIONS, WE NEED REVOLUTIONARY TECHNOLOGY TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE.
Dr. Redmond Burke, director of cardiovascular surgery at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

“This is a big day for us,” she said. “You don’t imagine having to spend your first Christmas away from home like we are doing in a hospital setting. But for our first Christmas with the twins, what better gift could we have other than having the gift of life for our baby girl again?”

Business › Re: How Do I Take Up A Case Against GTBANK ? by Leopantro: 9:57pm On Dec 22, 2015
According to the Central bank of Nigeria Bank Customers Bill of Rights, you have two issues in your favor
1. THE RIGHT TO REDRESS: where you are not satisfied with the decision of your bank, you have the right of review either by your back, the CBN or the court.

2. THE RIGHT TO GOOD SERVICE : part of this right is that your bank must provide appropriate response to your needs and complaints.

That you informed your bank about the fraudulent transaction on your account in due time and they went ahead to authorize the transaction makes them culpable.

Write an email to them stating all that has transpired ; time of the identification of the transaction, the notification of your bank, the blocking of the card, the final deduction and end with a copy of the email you received from the bank. State that you are not happy with the result and require further intervention into the matter and a refund of the money. Demand that you receive an acknowledgement from the bank upon receiving the email ; this is important because CBN requires all banks to resolve customer complaints within 2 weeks. Finally, end by saying that if the complaint is not resolved within the time frame, you will escalate the issue to the Consumer Protection Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

DIY GUIDE : MAKE A OCULUS RIFT FOR LESS THAN $10

From The time you’ve heard about Oculus rift you know you’ve wanted it, but the price is ofcourse a hole in the pocket, especially for commoners like me.But that didn’t make me give up and forget the dream of owning a Oculus! I experimented with lot of stuffs and ended up making my own DIY rift which won’t eat anything more than 10$ from your wallet.
So let’s get started right away!

Things you’ll need
Old pieces of long Cardboard (TV BOX cardboard or refrigerator ones)
Paper
Glue,Tape and Scissors
Geometry Box
LED
Old webcam that you won’t mind ripping
Rooted Android phone (ideal size -4inch+)
A pair of magnifying lenses (2X2$) or aspheric lenses.
3 infra-red LED
Conducting wire
Done with collecting the materials from your garage? then let’s begin!

Part 1

01 02 03

Building the Google cardboard Visit the official cardboard site and download the design files. After that print the design files on a paper of A3 size( I’ve tried using an A4 paper but it’s way too small to hold even a 3.5 inch smartphone) After printing, cut the design files according to the instructions on the print and paste them on to a cardboard. Now cut the cardboard accordingly. Once done with cutting, fold accordingly (as per the animation on Google cardboard’s official website) and glue the required folds. Now fix the lenses in the right place with caution. Don’t mess it up, you can either place the lens in between and leave it as it is or Stick it with some glue on its edges. Do whatever you feel like, but the lens should be tightly held in its position. Now lets move on to your smartphone to check whether you’re Google cardboard is functioning well enough! Now to further enhance your you’re experience you can add a velcro band to fasten the cardboard around your head Download the official Google cardboard app Place the phone inside the cardboard and open the cardboard app. Enjoying? Huh,well we’ve got more to it……

Part 2

0406

Tracking Gear

If you envy your friends over their Kinect or Xbox because of the awesome motion sensing games they offer, then worry no more! Google cardboard doesn’t offer face tracking , but I’ll show you how to add it. Take out the LED, cables and your old webcam that you’ve kept aside. The LED’s that you’re using must be infrared LED’s and the webcam must have a decent refresh rate.

Grind the tips of the LED’s using a Sand paper or any rough surface. This will help in diffusing the light and also in reducing the overall brightness of your headset. The next step is to soldering a wire on to the tips of the LED’s.

NOTE- Longer pin is positive

Shorter pin is negative. In case you do it the other way, the LED’s wont work. Solder both the cables to a switch and also a battery holder. Insert your batteries into the holder. Just to make sure , you’re configuration is working, point your smartphone’s cam at the LED after turning it on . If it blinks then it’s working fine!

Assemble the LED’s in V shaped as shown in the picture below. Make sure the dimensions are correct. So do use a scale for measurement. Place the LED’s at the corners shown on the picture. The wiring and other stuffs should be placed along the line. You need a support for your circuit. So I recommend old broken headphones which might be lying around or you can also use a cardboard piece. Make sure you use only light items.

Modifying your webcam Very little modification is needed for the webcam. You’ll have to turn on your LED’s and use the camera application available on your computer to check if the webcam is able to pickup the LED’s. You’re likely to see glowing points of light! In case you didn’t notice it, it’s because your camera has a IR filter. All you need to do is google about this! You’ll find step by step details on how to remove IR filter of your camera. Now place your webcam on your PC on the usual position. Make sure your head is visible.

Setting up the software
Download FacetrackNOIR and install the software in your pc. Open it and select “Point Tracker 1.0” which is present in the Tracker source option. You’ll see a small picture of your head ( tiny) in a small window. If your tracking clip is on and Face track works smoothly on your PC then you’ll see 3 dots on the window which are marked ‘+’. Once you’ve got everything configured all you need to do is make your fast fingers bash the keyboard for the best Track IR games available. You’ve something that you thought was forever out of your reach!

07

05

Finally…..

Now everything is ready, all you need to do is set the blankets right. combine the facetrack with your Google cardboard which won’t work as replacement for the rift, but surely it’s going to give you way lot of impressiveness and a break taking 3D expierience.

To enjoy Oculus Rift games

1. Open Factrack NOIR and configure it in the following way-

Game protocol > Mouse Look

2. Turn your IR headset on. After that start tracking via Facetrack

3. Run Vire.io and open a game of your choice.

Recommendations

– DCS World

-ARMA III

-War Thunder

4. Download Splashtop and setup your PC for desktop streaming. alternatives to SplashTop are Chrome Remote desktop, Gamestream and Microsoft remote desktop.

5. Stream the game to your phone using the above applications.

6. Place your smartphone in your cardboard and enjoy the depths of VR!!
