Lagos is a wonderful state in Nigeria,but they have to do serious work on there capital offence law,it is very tough.
In a criminal case like this once the victim family forgives the offender especially when they pay compensation and pay for burial,the state should show mercy and give the person a second chance.After which the persons name will be on the courts criminal record and maybe made to pay fine or serve jail term of 7,5,3 or 2 years.
Then if the person commits the same crime again then they can punish him or her with death sentence.

Other states in the east,south and north handle cases like this with mercy when both families decide to settle.Lagos should soften there law please.Pipu make mistake,repent and change for the best.

Again Pls lets give peace a chance election is over.We cant kip on hating our neighbor becos of election.

Lagos state should not try this as it would embolden others to do the same.

The issue with that kind of project is priority and cost. Most of the critical needs of the people are abandoned for huge project without serious impact on 75% of the population. Imagine when billions are spent on airports, govt house, guest house etc while the rural areas are without Water, roads, security, functional education, poor healthcare etc. The billions spent on elite test can fix the rural areas and reduce poverty. The poverty in Nigeria is as a result of expenditures that are elite driven.
