It will now b vry dangerous for d USA to invade Iran. Now dat dey are not on good terms with Russia.

Shld dey try to witout Russia's consent, Russia will enta d war on d side of Iran nd China will also follow suit. U knw wat dat means.

It's a dangerous project, dey will nt want to embark on.
Russia and China can't do much. Just as US can't do much about Russian offensive in Ukraine. They just need justification. They don't really care about these two nations. That's what I think.
Foreign AffairsRe: Iran Could Make Materials For A Nuclear Bomb In Just 12 DAYS, US Warns ( Pics) by LeopardX: 8:18pm On Mar 01, 2023
America the fear monger.
I just hope they will not use that excuse to invade Iran one of these days in search of a non existent weapon of mass destruction.

And I hope that Iran will not agree with them that they indeed have such weapons as Arabs typically do to look tough. They are Persians abeg.

And make US sef rest jor.

They block all avenues for their issue with Iran to be resolved with a desire to invade them eventually.

Wetin we no go hear.

"He will not win APC primaries" - he won.

"He will not win the Presidential Election" - he won.

Now, "He will not be sworn in" - pending.

The way people project their hate on this man is becoming too much, especially so-called Christians.

BluntTheApostle:
It can't get better.

You don't put the cart before the horse.

Why do you think the cash policy is causing so much problems?

It is because we did not do the right things first before implementing the policy.

No one is against the naira redesign or the mopping up of excess cash in circulation.

But there are things that should have been done first before implementing the policy.

First, there is no huge customer confidence in the banking system in Nigeria. In fact, many Nigerians believe banks work with Yahoo Yahoo boys. There are also many unresolved reversals. I, for example, I have a reversal amounting to 120,000 which is still unresolved since 2017.

Second, there is no citizen confidence in the government. How many people can trust the government? In fact, majority of people that I have interviewed believe this policy is a political rather than a monetary policy.

Third, there is no stable power. A cashless economy needs stable or adequate power supply. There is no stable power supply in Nigeria. If you are lucky to live in some areas, you may enjoy adequate power supply. But power supply in Nigeria is not uniform. There are places where you may not even see power for months. During my service year, there was a period in Modakeke when there was no power for over 6 months because the transformer exploded. You may be asking, "but there is generator". Think about the cost of petrol and diesel right now. Even cooking fuel like kerosene is now costly too.

Fourth, our minimum wage is too small. Someone who earns 30,000 naira will spend more in a cashless economy just to spend their little money in peace. With bank charges and all other associated charges, how much go remain on top the 30k. And this is Nigeria, where many earn below the minimum wage. Employers of labour in the retailing business pay very terribly low salaries.

These and many problems should have been resolved before implementing this policy.

Because they didn't resolve the problems I listed, that is why the masses are suffering.

It is not that the masses don't appreciate the policy, but the policy is becoming a burden to them because the government poorly implemented it.
Well said man. Well said.

They won't be OK!
They can't be OK!

If they lose at the polls, it will be worse for them because they won't have the cash to keep oiling their so called structure.

On your recommended postulations, we are in Nigeria, we all know how slow and seemingly ineffective our judiciary and the anti-corruption agencies are when it comes to the political class.
Atiku, who I support, has been losing consistently since 2007. Yet he is still not broke.
As a matter of fact, there's no broke ex-politician in Nigeria.

The only ones who go broke are those who haven't 'been there' and failed while attempting to.

I thought President Buhari and Emefiela have explained that to us already!

I have always known that this currency redesign is one policy Buhari wouldn't leave out to punish corrupt politicians and contractors!
He did it in 1984 and he has done it again.
The truth is these so called corrupt people will be alright at the end of the day.

You don't punish corruption by redesigning the naira. Rather you do that by arresting corrupt people, charging them to court and jailing them.
That's how to punish corrupt contractors and politician.
But maybe he's a coward.
PoliticsRe: Has Anyone Withdrawn Cash From Atms Of Late? by LeopardX(op): 1:48pm On Feb 20, 2023
Efuaye:
It's just foolhardy to think that we will have cash back in circulation like it was before the redesign!
You were not expecting another 2 trillion naira cash to be injected back into circulation after the withdrawal of the old ones!
We should all get used to the new normal, Cashless Economy!
You are right, but I was told that the total volume of cash within Nigeria is 51 trillion. Of that only less than 10% of that amount is in circulation, which is even less than advanced countries like USA, JAPAN and the UK despite their cashless operations.

So what's the point of mopping physical cash off the streets at a short notice?

Politicians will bring out the hoarded new naira notes, and spend them on election day. This will result in 70% of the new naira notes being pumped into the monetary network. After February 25, there will be a lot of money in circulation.
I really hope so bro.

I don't have business with Peter Obi or your principal.

To answer your question though, Peter Obi doesn't have issues with cash scarcity. It's ordinary folks like me in the streets that have that problem, regardless of party affiliation.

Zonefree:
So, where are the first ones released?

Heard only 30% of the released notes are in circulation while the rest 70% are no where to be found.
The remaining 70% are with the 'alagbaras' of Nigeria - the elites. Political heavyweights (including Tinubu), top businessmen and top religious leaders don't have any problem with cash scarcity.

The rest of us are just suffering for nothing.

Let's endure for 6 more days. Nigeria will be great again.
Nothing will change after 6 days.
Buhari will vacate the office by May.

A lot of excruciating hardship may be imposed on us before that time, regardless of the outcome of the election.

It could be worse if Tinubu ends up winning though.

Power to the People.

I believe no new batch of new notes have been printed since the first one was released into circulation.

Be that as it may, has anyone withdrawn cash from any bank's ATM these past couple of days?

Please this doesn't include POS.

😏

Thought they said everything man acquires on Earth is vanity. Why then is he advising his congregation to own a land.
The context is used comparatively, i.e, in comparison to something else.

In this instance, the salvation of your soul is more important than the acquiring and accumulation of lands and landed properties.

It doesn't mean that the latter is bad. But if you focus on it more than you focus on your soul's worth, you would have lived a vain, wasted life.
Maybe these screenshots captured from Google might help.

Have a blessed week.
