Although the Diversity Visa participation was free, the law and regulations require to every diversity visa winner to pay a visa processing fee of $970 . The Diversity Visa(Green Card) is guaranteed upon receiving the payment.
The per person fee for each Diversity Visa is $ 970, payable in U.S. dollars or equivalent of your local currency. This $970 fee is the only fee a winner needs to pay throughout the entire relocation process.
Accompanying family members(wife/husband, fiancee, brothers, sisters, childrens, cousins) may be included in the program and their visas will be provided at the same time with yours so you can travel/move together in the same time. However the fees must be paid per person and each member(e.g wife, brother, parents, childrens, cousin) must pay $970 . There is no discount for childrens.
Please note that you are allowed to take with you as many family members you want. However for each person you must pay an additional amount of U.S $ 970
For example if you decide to move in the United States with your wife and a kid the total fee is US$970 (your fee) + US$970 (your wife) + US$ 970 (your kid) = US$2910.

PURPOSE: The U.S. Department of State uses the fee payment primarily to process your visa related documents and verify your identity.
Visa Payment processing instructions

The fees must be paid by Bank Account Transfer and will be processed by the U.S. embassy in the United Kingdom.

NOTE : In order to receive the Bank Account details were you will pay the fees, you must e-Mail us your full name and the country were you want to have the interview !

After you have paid the money, within 48 hours, you will receive a confirmation via email with your Case Number/Confirmation Number and exact date and time(approx. 2 days) of the final interview. Upon successful interview you will receive your documents and travel information to move in the United States. Under no circumstances your visa status won't be affected by the interview. After you have paid the processing fees your visa is guaranteed !

You are strongly encouraged not to wait until the last day to pay. Heavy demand may result in system delays. adexkem: my brother i agree with you that your host will influence your choice of career. Speaking from my experience. My host was into nursing assistant kind of job. I was advice to come with specified amount of money to register for the program. Which i did two weeks after i got to us. Under 7weeks when i got to usa have gotten a certified nurse assistant. This is after written and pass board exam. Cos every thing here is attach to one board or the other. I think the moral lesson from that story is come with enough money while coming. Dont hope on your host. Cos in most job you must be train before you are hire. Talk of nursing assistant ,tax driver, security, name it. More importantly , has a new comer try to better understand the message of this phase 'i will not settle for less' it does not mean you should not start from the least job. My first job was plate washer in jamaica restaurant. Later i moved to nurse assistant. While i wa

Gbabe 2: Good afternoon peeps.I am really thankful to you guys.I must confess u guys are doing a great job.@Kemzone,Adesojiaderemi,temmytamy,gentiger and everyone you are all wonderful people.
I had my interview this morning around 9.15am to 9.19am and it was a pleasant experience and divine favor of God at work.
We (0i and my wife)got to the emabassy around 6.30 am.
We followed their normal security checks and the routine.
Next thing i paid in dollars though i had alternative of over 130k in naira in case she has issues with the dollars i presented.Well no issue,we proceeded to another that collected all our documents (NPC,Marriage cert,my bsc,Hnd Ond and Waec certificates,Police Report and Medicals.I presented the other certifications which includes my ACCA Cert,CIA Cert,CrFA cert and CISA certificates but she didnt collect any of except the required ones)
About 35minutes after a black american lady showed at the window 13 and started the interview for the immigrants.Later another CO showed at the window 16 before a white blonde girl later showed up at window 15 respectively.
Enough people had issues with the currency and visa fee payment and i had to extend a good gesture to a family like that.I am so sure they visited this great forum for once.
The black american gave a family of three visas and 3 individuals as well.She was so friendly that all prayers then was that God let us have our interview with this young lady.Obviously,it didnt cost the lady anything to grant everybody that came to her visas.I must tell you,you guys must just pray she is not on holidays when its your turn (just kidding)

The only question was my job description and why I didn't continue working where I served.There after she congratulated me and gave me my collection slip.
