Foreign AffairsRe: Soyinka: I Have Forgiven Americans For Voting Racist Trump by letskeeptalking: 7:02am On Jan 21, 2021
Baba Soyinka, what of Nigerians who support Trump nko . . . Claiming he is sent by God. A man who has openly shown hatred for us as Nigerians and for Blacks in general.

Why a Nigerian will support him, for whatever reason, is beyond me.

We just don’t love ourselves!!!
FamilyRe: Wife Cheated, But I Must Not Escalate It by letskeeptalking: 3:34am On Jan 21, 2021
Seeeker:
She is paying rent for a business premises. We created a different source of income to be used in financing the rent. So this is not a matter of having no money to pay rent in her business. But she never showed me receipt of rent paid over the years.

Suddenly last week, premises owner locked out wife's workers and her over unpaid rent. I asked why she has not been paying rent. She said I should not worry about the premises owner, and that it's a small issue. I went to the place and met everyone outside and was told wife has went to see the landlord. Some minutes later, a different person brought the key and opened the office. Wife called and asked me to go and that she has paid him. I left and returned one hour later to hear more gist and I was told that wife has not returned from the man's house. I left. The fact that wife never showed me receipt tipped me off that something was brewing between the two. When wife came back at night, she washes all clothes and bra she wore before leaving the house in the morning. Wife usually don't wash clothes at night, only in the morning. That shows she was trying to clean up something. She said nothing about her encounter with the landlord. That night, she was checking her boobs in a secluded part of the house; when I showed up behind her unannounced, she was shocked and moved away.

Being a very serious Christian, I knew that she would feel guilty. Since that night, she became moody. That means the premises owner was waving the rent to get into her pant. We had our first major fight last month because she has been denying me sex for many months. Sex was happening like once in a month. During the fight, she said God would choose a prostitute for me that I can copulate with always. After the elders settled the fight, I decided never to ask her for sex again. I started monitoring her phone and got what I was looking for.

If I try to stop the investment that is meant to pay her business premises rent, that means I will resign from my job. Besides, I'm tired of the job, just doing it to get the money...the shame I get from the job is unbearable. Instead of paying rent, she was lavishing money on clothes. She spent money like father Xmas during the new year, but because she doesn't want her bank account to go red, she couldn't summon the courage to pay landlord out of anger and opted for option of using her body.

I know she was caught unawares. But I can't try separation because of my daughter. My daughter is worth someone to suffer for in marriage...such an angel. Besides, given my status in the community, divorce will tarnish my image.

I decided never to let her know I caught her. If she wants, let her tell me herself what she did.

You may want to say I should gather money from the job and start something else... Money realized there can only pay bills in the house, the investment is the only gain but it is meant to pay wife's rent with the hope that if wife's business booms, we can plan something better.
You didn’t ‘catch her’ . . You are just making an assumption with no concrete evidence I might add.
Foreign AffairsRe: "Shame On You" - Piers Morgan Blasts Trump On His Final Day As US President by letskeeptalking: 3:29am On Jan 21, 2021
rawfact:
Oh, you just discovered that? They started the division years ago. Trump only fought back tenaciously, while maintaining amazing focus on growing US Economy, drastically reducing unemployment, securing US Borders, funding US Military in trillions of US Dollars and keeping oppositional countries like China and Iran at bay.

He was really amazing in strength, fighting both local and foreign "wars" at the same time. Biden dare not oppose western media (especially CNN) even if their move is not in the best interest of the American people. He dare not. Now, Social Media Giants have been enlisted into the "cabal".

Trump remains a Legend - a Hero of all time.
CNN is not the only US media naaa. Most of them support Trump. Fox News will say Trump’s poo is health and can even be used for economic growth.

There is nothing wrong with the Media having a voice, and using it as the see fit. That’s democracy after all.

But somehow you Trump supporters only focus on the ones condemning Trump, and never mention the ones egging him on.

I wonder how CNN was supposed to stop him from doing his job as President, just because they give bad reports about him. Stop pointing out irrelevancies to support your GOD, Trump.

Twitter bans people who post obscenities. Why should he get special treatment because he was President? He was warned, but he taught he was above the law. He got what he deserved.

I agree with Morgan . . . Shame on him!!!

Let’s watch and see how fast his wife will divorce him!!!
FamilyRe: My Brother's Marriage Is About To Collapse. by letskeeptalking: 6:15am On Jan 20, 2021
bukatyne:
While bonding with the children is on the man, let's not ignore that the mother teaches the children to disobey their father by undermining his authority over them.

How can a father call his sons to wash the car and the mother say 'they are sleeping'?

Did they go to the farm overnight? Can't they wash the car and go back to sleep?

If sleep is so important to them, can't they wash it the night before?

And shouldn't a 20 year old help his father dress up for work? Polish his shoes, iron his clothes, help him co-ordinate his wears in the newest fashion?

Let's assume the man doesn't actively seek to bond with his kids (a lot of Nigerian fathers are guilty); can't the mother encourage it especially if they are not in an abusive marriage?

The mother should be the one pushing the kids to wash his car, polish his socks, iron his shirts, pick his tie etc. That way, they would bond and the father can pass nuggets to the sons.

The sons would also learn how to be responsible, co-ordinate/lead a family, note the father's mistakes to improve on etc.

If the OP was complaining about the sons not sitting with their father to watch CNN, I would ask if the father sowed the seed to reap such.

But disrespect on the mother's orders and with her backing? Na!
I agree with you that the woman’s role in this case is questionable. But the boy is 20. At that age he should be able to take decisions without being influenced by his mum. He should want to help the father, even if the Mother were against it.

Apparently the only strong influence they have in their life is their Mother.

My point is that such influences are formed at early stages in life. I don’t think the children, if they had a good bond with him in the beginning, would turn on him now.

Or do you also agree that the responsibility to raise and instill discipline in the kids lies entirely with the woman? How come when a child turns bad it’s somehow the woman’s fault? Where was the man to play his role too?

Growing up my Dad had a very busy Law practice, and my mum was a Teacher who was home almost all the time. But we also felt my Dad’s presence because whenever he could he would go through our books, help us with school work, visit us in school hostel e.t.c. He was busy, but also present.

I would say I also have the kind of job my dad had because I’m always traveling and closing from work very late. But should that be an an excuse for me not to get involved in my children’s life??

While I understand that in this case the woman is not acting properly, my point is that she is able to do that because the man neglected his duties as a Father when he had the opportunity.

Yes, bonding is important but not everyone is good at it especially with some jobs. Now, if the children are disobedient to their father but not to the mother, isn't it obvious?? she can correct it, not as if he's the type that beats his wife.
Women also work, sometimes even more than men. Men just choose not to bond, and that decision is nobody’s fault.

A woman cannot tell her child what to feel.

At the end of the day whet the child will remember is how he felt safe with the Mother and no recollection of ever having such feelings for the Fathed.

It is no news that most marriages are collapsing.
Mine is just two years but I also see signs of collapse.
What's happening in my brothers marriage is painful to me because I know the financial investment and sacrifices he puts into it. I don't know what he did to his wife but she has turned his children against him.
imagine that you cannot tell your 20 years old first son to wash your car like 7am, the mother will tell you that you should allow him to enjoy his sleep. Not once, not twice and not thrice.
This is the children you'll go hungry and borrow money to pay high school fees to make sure they go to good schools.
It is painful to me because I knew when he was paying 200k per term each on three kids while his basic was just 300k.
Now the firstborn and secondborn will disobey him on ordinary washing of car just because he can no longer meet up.
Please how would you handle such issues?
You might just hear that a man killed his wife and three children in the news. That would not be our portion.

From outside, she has been a good woman but she didn't blend the children to their father. They nature of his job takes him on transfer always and not stationed with his family but regular monthly visit is always there.
Is it a woman's job to connect the children to their father? Are they not his children? Why did he not ensure he creates that bond between him and them.

When men will abandon children for their mothers, and be forming big man. . in taking care of your own children. This is the consequences.

You don't know the bond that develops over little things like helping them with bathing them, feeding them, helping them with their assignments, taking them to school e.t.c You think the children know/care who pays their school fees? It's the person who was there for them emotionally that they will love and appreciate.

Nigerians men continue forming big men, but don't cry foul when your own children turn on you!!!

Point of notice...the spark never remains in love or in marriage. It is left to you to spice it up through mind games or sexual escapades.

Your husband is not the only one guilty of not noticing what he should notice...you are too!
Don't tell me you have not noticed other men who are noticing you.

Notice them back, flirt with some of them...get distracted by the attention they give you and if you have the heart for it; spread your legs for a few but please don't bring home a bastard baby.

Your husband will definitely notice your lack of clinginess and he will begin to cling to you out of fear that he may be losing you because like Usher rightly said; "you never miss a good thing till it leaves you".
I don’t know why they’ve not banned you permanently!

What part are your finding difficult to believe?

The part where she said he threatened her with a knife? Or the part where she said she was hypnotized?

Let’s say she wasn’t even hypnotized, that she followed him willingly. Why would she lie about being threatened with knives??

Seriously, talking about the dangers of false rape allegations at this point sounds a lot like you are a rape apologists.

The man is dead, butchered by someone claiming he tried to rape her and threatened her with a matchete. Did you ask yourself how she got a matchete in his house to kill him with?

This lady is risking her own reputation by coming out to corroborate the Corpers claims and you guys are acting like she is out for the dead man.

She was raped at 18 and told no one out of shame. Now she is matured, she is taking the risk, showing her face, telling the whole world. Why would she do that if it were a liehuh

Hi everyone,
I applied to the University of Manitoba for a graduate program in Fall 2021. I completed my application yesterday after being delayed by my Professor.
I attempted to pay the application fee with my debit card and with Barter to no avail. Finally, I tired Paymytuition.com as recommended by the school.
Payment went through and I'm told it will take 3_5 days to send it to the school.
Application deadline is on the 15th of this month.
I have sent an mail to the school telling them of my situation.
Looking for advise here on my situation. Thank you
Did you send evidence of your transaction to PayMyTution your school? Technically the transaction takes effect when they remit to the school and it takes about 3days like they said. They should remit same day they receive.

I think you can only hope for the best at this point.

7. Nigerians are spending up to 8millions ($21k) and above to immigrate to Canada/US whereas an average canadian or American citizen can't boast of $10k in their bank A/C's. They live pay check to pay check.

8. Some Nigerians claims that they ain't relocating because of the money but because of good infrastructure, good health care system, value for their money etc. That's a lie! 98% of Nigerians who're eager to travel out are relocating because of economic reasons. There are good infrastructure, good health care system and value for money in countries like Kuwait, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Chile etc but Nigerians ain't trooping there, indicating that their preference for Canada/US is purely based
The two points above are contradictory. You claim Nigerians spend 8mil and above to relocate, this means they are not poor to begin with. Why then do you think they are relocating for economic reasons?

Hello Letskeeptalking,

I will just add to my already shared thoughts of my previous response to your post.

I believe what he meant is that putting in a family application may drastically reduce the visa approval chances of the PA. This isn't far from the truth. However, your case is different as you've been approved and already commenced studying.

Your spouse application should be SOWP and the VV for your child.

Best of Luck
Thank you so much!

First and foremost, i would like to congratulate you on your acceptance into a designated learning institution in Canada. Secondly, there are lots of drawbacks associated with applying with your entire family as most often, visa officers have this notion that such applicant is using study permit as a means to relocate with the family to Canada rather than educational advancement. In view of this submission, I will prefer you apply alone and upon the successful assessment (approval) of your application, you can apply for your child and spouse to accompany you to Canada. With this info on file, it will be much more easier to convince the visa officer that you're a bonafide student and would return to your family (spouse and kid) after studies. On second thought, if you're financially buoyant crowned with adequate ties (landed properties, buildings, investments in the bank etc), you can apply with your family. I can hardly count the number of successful applicants I know who filed for a family application and were approved of their visas. Conclusively, i will advice you utilize the NSE program when applying for your visa.

It will end in praise
Please can you throw more light on this (the bolded)?

Would the application be a Visiting Visa or a WP for a spouse?

In my own case my husband will not be travelling with us . . . so if he applies for an open work permit and ends up living outside Canada, will that be a problem?

Also, I have 3 kids who are US Citizens, can I travel with some of them for now, and then apply for my spouse and my child with a Nigerian Passport when I get there? Will I have a problem at the border, since I already said I won't be travelling with them in my application??

Also, can I apply for them NOW that my Visa has been approved and I have started classes online, but still in Nigeria? Or do I have to be physically in Canada before I can apply for them?

Aplogies for the 'plenty' questions! embarassed wink

I have 4 kids, 3 have American passports and so do not need Visa to Canada.

I have already resumed lectures online. Do I still need to get to Canada before I can apply for my husband (and child that is not a US citizen?), or can I apply now while still in Nigeria?

Also, I plan to travel soon with my last two children, since they don't need a Visa. Will that be a problem, since I already said they won't be travelling with me?

Generally having an upfront medical fastens your application, however, an upfront medical isn't a guaranty for application approval, for me, I just took a step of faith and went ahead after 2-3 months of not hearing from them.
Well yeah, of course getting an upfront medicals is no guarantee that the application will be approved.

However I seem to remember you mentioning you were waiting for your Medicals requests and I suggested you get an upfront, because that’s what I did. Then looking at your timeline and the time it took for the Medicals to be updated and the date of final decision, I was just wondering if you had done the Medicals immediately after application (like I did), if that would have affected the timing of your decision, approval or not.

But truth is, I got an upfront medicals almost two months ago and up till now, no decision. So I’m thinking it may not necessarily have any role to play on the timeline for processing the application.

Actually, I’m just asking to know what you think, so we can all learn from each other’s experiences.
