Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Was A Muslim? by Lex11(m): 6:09pm On Oct 05, 2014
This is who The Lord Jesus Christ says He is, and His word is true:

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." - John 8:58

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." - Revelation 1:8

Futile attempts to relegate The Lord to a religion, nationality, race, etc... is unfortunately short-sighted and unprofitable.
Christianity EtcRe: Does Falling Under Annointing In Church Guarantee Miracles by Lex11(m): 5:58pm On Oct 05, 2014
OP,

I am not aware of any incident in the Holy Bible where anyone falls "under anointing" pertaining to receiving a miracle.

In fact, it's my understanding that falling down the way most church folk do, usually backwards, is not a good thing at all - but rather symbolic of being slain in the spirit or that one is an enemy of God. "But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken." - Isaiah 28:13

"They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground." - John 18:5-7

But those who fall forward do so in submission to and worship of God - "And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying," - Genesis 17:3, "And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?" - Joshua 5:14; "And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God." - 1 Kings 18:39; "And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God," - Revelation 11:16 (also see Leviticus 9:24, Numbers 16:22, 1 Corinthians 14:24-26)

God can perform miracles in a person's life without all the theatrics that we typically observe. The petrol drinking pastor, etc come to mind. So, don't believe the hype or run with the crowd. Believe, pray... God hears, God answers prayers.
Christianity EtcRe: The Bible Fallacy by Lex11(m): 8:27pm On Sep 07, 2014
Op...

First of all, in Matthew 3:17... there is no indication of precisely who heard "a" voice from Heaven, the voice being presumably God's voice...BUT & even then, it could have been an Angel that God told to say those words precisely... like God typically commanded His servants the prophets to speak to a person or people verbatim... like Moses saying to Pharaoh, “Let My people go, that they may serve Me." - (Exodus 8:1)

Second... The people who The Lord Jesus is speaking/referring to in John 5:37 as not having heard God The Father's voice at anytime are "the Jews" that didn't believe in Him and are thus not the same group that may have heard "a" voice in Matt 3:17 (The people in Matt 3:17 are likely those who actually believed in Him and were either listening to John's preaching or were being baptized by him in/around the Jordan river).

Your contention has been undermined two-fold.

Christianity EtcRe: Is The Holyspirit This Cheap?? by Lex11(m): 5:49pm On Aug 24, 2014
Op... like some have said, not all tongues are tongues. Some people just do it mechanically to feel that they are saved or "among", or for whatever reason

"...The Lord knoweth them that are his..." - 2 Tim 2:19

We should all be careful regarding the things of God.

Christianity EtcRe: Was Jesus Christ Created? by Lex11(m): 5:37pm On Aug 24, 2014
The Lord Jesus Christ is The Creator.

"The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men." - John 1:2-4

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." -Revelation 1:8

"Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness" - Psalm 143:10

"The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue." - 2 Samuel 23:2

"God is not a man, that he should lie;..." - Numbers 23:19 (Psalm 12:6)

Every day that we have the gift of life and many good things associated with it, and especially God's Self sacrifice to save even one sinner... are a testament to GOD's goodness, the extent to which we, in our limited understanding, really have no idea.

SportsRe: BREAKING! Morocco 2014: Okagbare Wins Nigeria’s First Gold Medal by Lex11(m): 7:04am On Aug 12, 2014
Eldavido1: Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare, Monday night, confirmed her rating as
Africa’s fastest woman as she finished tops in grand style in the
women’s 100m event at the ongoing 19th Edition of the African
Athletic Championships in Marrakech, Morocco.
Okagbare, who recently clinched the sprint double at the
Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, set a new Championship record
of 11.00secs to secure Nigeria’s first gold medal at the flagship
African athletics competition.
Okagbare’s Ivorian rival, Murielle Ahoure, finished in second place
with a time of 11.03 secs while the other two Nigerian athletes in the
finals Gloria Asunmu and Lawretta Ozoh were unable to make it to
the podium finishing 4th and 7th respectively.
Speaking with journalists after another record making outing,
Okagbare said she had to go extra mile for the win.
“I am very happy to have won the title because I just wanted to win
for my fans and do my country proud,” Okagbare said.
“Just coming straight from the Commonwealth Games, my body is
tired, but my coach told me to just focus and execute the race,
which was what I did. Of course the competition was stiffer at the
Commonwealth Games, but that is not to take anything away from
Murielle Ahoure.
“She is a great athlete. It was good that we had three Nigerians in
the final but this is Africa. I am hoping that we can have this kind of
representation on a bigger platform, like the World Championships
and the Olympics.
Unfortunately, Nigeria was not able to repeat the winning feat in the
men’s 100m event as Mark Jelks settled for second position behind,
Ivorian Wilfred Koffi Hua who won in a time of 10.05secs
Jelks won the silver finishing with a time of 10.07secs, while
Edward Monzavous, another Nigerian, settled for bronze.
Another Nigerian, Ogho-Oghene Egwero, could only manage a
5thplace finish after posting a time of 10.28secs in the thrilling
finals for men.

Christianity EtcRe: Smoking Is Not A Sin. Is It? by Lex11(m): 7:22pm On Aug 03, 2014
englishmart: I don't smoke really.
But I've gone round the scripture.
I've made every research towards ensuing I find something sinful about smoking but I seem not to find anything sinful about smoking.
My conclusion is that smoking is not a sin

So what do you think?
-------------
The only part of Scripture that I find relating to that is:

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Whether or not you choose to call it a sin, one thing smoking is though... is deadly! I thank God I stopped.

Liveair: Your attempt at defending your God is at best weak.
He owns everything yet he requires sacrefices.
He doesn't require sacrifices; they are just illustrations, yet you also said that Jesus was sacrificed!
Now, If i vow to your God to do evil and he makes the conditions fit, am i bound to do that evil just to satisfy your God?
You see why an Atheist shreds you guys to pieces.

1. The Almighty needs no "defending."

2. Human beings are finite creatures with finite reasoning and abilities... yet, you purport to have it all figured out. To each his/her own, at the end of our physical lives on this rock, each one will realize that there is only one truth - Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God The Father.

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." -

EducationRe: Campus Prostitution: A Growing Concern In Nigeria by Lex11(m): 6:44pm On Aug 03, 2014
Listen... its not just on campuses! The culture of corruption has bred thieves of sorts... who are typically men, in considering the paternalistic nature of our society, which in turn prompts women to get the cash/favor from the men who want their bodies/"goodies" in return. So, whether its campuses, Nollywood, politics, employment... virtually everywhere; there is a very sad and unfortunate quid pro quo culture which so pervasively stems from corruption. Fewer women would engage in such tactics/activities if they had decent opportunities to advance. Men of course are not complaining with things as they are, except for their own economic circumstances.

Things much change because these things have a long term detrimental effect on a society (morality, health, image, etc).

Christianity EtcRe: Does God Accept Human Sacrifice? Please Pastors Help by Lex11(m):
Liveair: Please Read the Bible very well.
The Israelites were required to spare part of the loot of war regularly for their God.
The most precious ornaments and items were set aside as holy, for temple use. Read Num 31:25-54

As for Jephthah's sacrifice, there was no mention of God preventing him or even reprimanding him. However, if that sacrifice was unacceptable, why didn't God prevent his daughter from coming out by sending a goat instead?
---
Read my response "very well" because You miss my point(s) entirely!

With re: to the "loot", everything you see and don't see belongs to GOD! - "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods." - Psalm 24:1-2

"I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine." - Psalm 50:9-11.. etc.

With re: to Jephthah's sacrifice - Is The Lord GOD Almighty somehow required/compelled to send "a goat instead?" By who... you?

**********

"O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." - Psalm 51:15-17

smartn09: Hmmm, I got confused with my bible after a lots of personal argument & reason since few weeks ago, I have been trying to resolve this feelings but couldn't, that God accepts human sacrifice to relinguish his support or favour. Iam not a freethinker nor I wish to promote it as some may think. Iam only seeking for expert opinion or better interpretation in the following Christian bible chapters and verses. 2king 3 v 27, Judges 11 v31-39. Iam hereby calling on all the nairaland theologian scholars, individuals and groups to Share your views and remain blessed in your polite contribution.
With re: to 2 Kings 3:27 - God did not command/require this sacrifice. Futhermore, it was offered by the "enemy".

With re: Judges 11:31-39... God didnt command or require this sacrifice either...however, when one makes a vow or promise to The LORD, one must keep it. God honorably takes His promises seriously and always keeps them, as should we all, by His strength. Consider that God gave Israel many, many victories over their enemies without requiring anything... it was through His Divine favor.

God does not need any human or animal sacrifice as those things were only illustrations... The LORD in the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ, the great High Priest, sacrificed Himself for many for reconciliation with God. HE is the only true sacrifice that we need or have - John 3:16, Acts 4:12, etc.

There are a variety of consequences ... best leave the married woman alone.
