Onyiridike:You don't understand, the doctor in dat company must be a Medical Officer, certainly not a Specialist... I can assure u the Doctor is there temporarily and would take off as soon as he gets the chance to bcom a Specialist. Or, he is comfortable with peanuts, while his colleagues earn heavily. Any company that hires a Doctor (Specialist) pays him higher than his equal in any other profession. |
3 suspected assassins arrested in Minna ON MAY 13, 20119:38 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS By WOLE MOSADOMI, Minna Niger state command of the Department of State Services (DSS) Friday in Minna paraded three suspected assassins who were hired by an unidentified politician for some special assignments. Refusing to disclose the identity of their benefactor in order not to jeopardize ongoing investigations, the state Director DSS, Dr. Larry Obiagwu told reporters that the suspects were arrested at a hotel in Minna where they were staying with fake identities and pseudonyms , preparing to start their operation. He said that the arrests of the suspects were due to the proactive counter security measures put in place by security agencies to maintain and stabilize the internal security of the state after the 2011 general elections. The leader of the suspects,Richard Obafemi, who claims to be a medical doctor was arrested with a set of medical stethoscope, which Obiagwu said was used to divert the attention of unsuspecting members of the public and security agents. According to the DSS boss, the identity card found on the suspect presents him as a ‘Pediatric Surgery Director (Consultant)’ at the National Hospital in Abuja, a claim the DSS director said was verified and found to be false. He added that the suspect during further interrogation said he has offered his services to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo state. Another suspect, Hadi Jampi Ambrose was caught dressed in a full combat military regalia with a warrant card of Nigeria Army Second (2nd) Division, a locally made pistol, a camouflage bullet -proof jacket, a military body armour and one expended round of 9mm ammunition while the third suspect, Mohammed Dikwa claims he is a Fulani cattle herdsman . The Director of Security stated that the benefactor of the suspects had fled the state adding that measures and investigations are underway by the State Security Service to ensure that he is caught and brought to book. Confirming this, Ambrose said that one Alhaji (who is their benefactor) told them to come to the state to carry out some special assignment after which they would be rewarded handsomely adding that they had been in the state for some days putting up in a hotel before they were caught by the men of the SSS. He admitted that the uniform was sewn for him by a tailor in Warri while he got the military jack boot and ammunition from a retired ECOMOG soldier and that he bought the locally made pistol from an undisclosed source for N4,500. There's no Richard Macaulay Obafemi in the MDCN register... HE IS AN IMPOSTOR!!! And this news is being propagated by our unprofessional journalists... They didn't even say the alleged thief CLAIMED to be a Doctor... The NMA ought to sue the source of this news... RUBBISH!!! |
What were the basis of his overthrow in 1985? Let's take a look at them and compare it with what is happening today... 1. Untold hardship and continuous blame of the past administration. 2. Slow pace of governance again blamed on the PAST administration, too much mess to be cleared. 3. Unteachable approach to governance 4. War against opposition in the guise of anti-corruption war 5. Lack of any feasible economic policies or game plan 6. Worsening economy and inflation 7. Wasting of the very scarce resources on unproductive ventures and travels on a background of a receding economy 8. Complete disregard for cries of Nigerians on every media. 9. Reneging on the initial "plan" and promises which were meant to have been implemented 10. State of uncertainty and stagnation degenerating into suppression and retrogression Yet some people are waiting for 2019 before they will know we are in deep soup. Smh! |

DEJA VU? Nope... This is real. "The value of historical studies lies in its ability to enable us learn from the consequences of past mistakes and avert future recurrence" - Lexi. BLAST FROM THE PAST: TAKE OVER SPEECH OF THE 1985 NIGERIAN MILITARY COUP. I, Brigadier Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, of the Nigerian Army, hereby make the following declaration on behalf of my colleagues and members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Fellow country men, the intervention of the military at the end of 1983 was welcomed by the nation with unprecedented enthusiasm. Nigerians were unified in accepting the intervention and looked forward hopefully to progressive changes for the better. Almost two years later, it has become clear that the fulfillment of expectations is not forthcoming. Because this generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country but Nigeria, we could not stay passive and watch a small group of individuals misuse power to the detriment of our national aspirations and interest. No nation can ever achieve meaningful strides in its development where there is an absence of cohesion in the hierarchy of government; where it has become clear that positive action by the policy makers is hindered because as a body it lacks a unity of purpose. It is evident that the nation would be endangered with the risk of continuous misdirection. We are presently confronted with that danger. In such a situation, if action can be taken to arrest further damage, it should and must be taken. This is precisely what we have done. The Nigerian public has been made to believe that the slow pace of action of the Federal Government headed by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari was due to the enormity of the problems left by the last civilian administration. Although it is true that a lot of problems were left behind by the last civilian government, the real reason, however, for the very slow pace of action is due to lack of unanimity of purpose among the ruling body; subsequently, the business of governance has gradually been subjected to ill-motivated power play considerations. The ruling body, the Supreme Military Council, has, therefore, progressively been made redundant by the actions of a select few members charged with the day-to-day implementation of the SMC’s policies and decision. The concept of collective leadership has been substituted by stubborn and illadvised unilateral actions, thereby destroying the principles upon which the government came to power. Any effort made to advise the leadership, met with stubborn resistance and was viewed as a challenge to authority or disloyalty. Thus, the scene was being set for systematic elimination of what, was termed oppositions. All the energies of the rulership were directed at this imaginary opposition rather than to effective leadership. The result of this misdirected effort is now very evident in the country as a whole. The government has started to drift. The economy does not seem to be getting any better as we witness daily increased inflation. The nation’s meager resources are once again being wasted on unproductive ventures. Government has distanced itself from the people and the yearnings and aspirations of the people as constantly reflected in the media have been ignored. This is because a few people have arrogated to themselves the right to make the decisions for the larger part of the ruling body. All these events have shown that the present composition of our country’s leadership cannot, therefore, justify its continued occupation of that position. Furthermore, the initial objectives and programmes of action which were meant to have been implemented since the ascension to power of the Buhari Administration in January 1984 have been betrayed and discarded. The present state of uncertainty and stagnation cannot be permitted to degenerate into suppression and retrogression. We feel duty bound to use the resources and means at our disposal to restore hope in the minds of Nigerians and renew aspirations for a better future. We are no prophets of doom for our beloved country, Nigeria. We, therefore, count on everyone’s cooperation and assistance. I appeal to you, fellow countrymen, particularly my colleagues in arms to refrain from any act that will lead to unnecessary violence and bloodshed among us. Rest assured that our action is in the interest of the nation and the armed forces. In order to enable a new order to be introduced, the following bodies are dissolved forthwith pending further announcements: (a) The Supreme Military Council (b) The Federal Executive Council (c) The National Council of States. All seaports and airports are closed, all borders remain closed. Finally, a dusk to dawn curfew is hereby imposed in Lagos and all state capitals until further notice. All military commanders will ensure effective maintenance of law and order. Further announcements will be made in due course. God bless Nigeria. |

A mild drama played out at the Freedom radio Kano when hundreds of teenagers besieged the station to marry a lady who promised to give a car and house to anybody who marries her. The 22-year-old girl, Zainab Abdulmalik had on Inda Ranka, a popular programme of the radio station on Tuesday disclosed her intention to give the items to anybody who marries her. Our correspondent reports that from across the state well dressed young men thronged the radio station at the Sharada industrial layout area. The girl had requested that all interested young men who are between the ages of 17 and 25 should assemble at the radio station for screening yesterday morning. When our correspondent went to the radio station around 11.am, hundreds of youths were seen defying security men of the radio station. While waiting at the entrance of the station, the boys were seen running after all female visitors, asking them whether they were Zainab. The number of interested persons who are mainly teenagers kept swelling until when the lady arrived around 1.pm. When she arrived, they all surged towards her expressing their loves to her. She was ferried by security operatives when they rushed at her from all angles. Speaking to our correspondent, one of the young men, Haruna Usman said he was interested in the lady because of the offer. “You know it is not un-Islamic to marry a lady because of her wealth or knowledge, so I’m here because of the offer. I have been longing to marry for long but my financial status has been weighing me down. Nobody will get this opportunity that will not grab it,” he said. Mohammed Mustapha (25) said he decided to offer himself to her because of the way she was treated by her ex-boyfriend. “I’m not poor because my business capital is over N1m but I came to marry because she was jilted by her lover. If she agrees to marry me, I promise you she will not regret it,” he said. In an interview with our correspondent, the girl who hails from Osun state said she decided to offer the items because she was betrayed by her longtime boyfriend. “I’m a trader at the singer market and I invested about N5million on my lover but he jilted me after all I have done for him. It is against this that I went to the radio station to offer these items to anybody who is willing to marry me. I’m single and I have never married before,” she said. copied from Daily Trust Online. |
