I have a vehicle coming in on Saturday and someone said vehicles aren’t clearing this period

The timing belt has cut before and I had it fixed. I have someone else remove and reset it.

Please, how do I desludge the entine?

Very disturbing code.

Your timing sequence is of sync, or your engine is filled with sludge, or both.

From repair history you should be able to tell if the timing belt has been tampered with in the past . If yes , have a professional check and reinstall the timing belt to proper settings.

Next try and gradually desludge engine and clean out oil control valve filters, there are 2 of them on both banks.

My 2003 highlander v6 is consuming a lotta fuel and someone told me the exhaust pipe is black, meaning there's something wrong.

The only code is p0016

I had changed o2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 2) recently and no improvement in fuel consumption.

Sometimes, it smells like the fuel is running rich or so - that funny smell like fuel is burning
