ok let me look up the United Nations archives.. .. . . . . . . . . . . .

i have looked and findeth nought.. The best i could come up with are multi national operations SA was not leading but were part of. SA's military is a sharp semblance of her foreign policy.... not well tuned or directed.

Whats the difference in years between 1975 (end of Vietnam) to 1991? How many soldiers who had served in Vietnam served in Operation Desert Storm? Mr, please show some acceptable levels of history knowledge so we could have a meaningful conversation.

In this case, most of the troops that were deployed in the Gulf had never been to battle before, they were inexperienced..... superior war technology and top notch training saw them through victory.
you will need to dust up your history books now so that i can show you "some acceptable level of history knowledge". The United state army did not stay idle after the vietnam war. Infact they have been involved in military operations and wars right up to the Gulf war.

They were in Cambodia in 1975
Evacuation of Saigon 29 April 1975
Somalia/Ethiopia Feb 1978
Korea 26 Oct 1979
Iran 1980
Libya/Mediterranean 1981
Lebanon 1982
Egypt/Sudan 1983
Red Sea/Gulf of Suez 1984
Mediterranean 1985

Libya 1986
Honduras 1988
And Panama 1989.
There's no need to get all touchy on the subject. The US has been militarily active year after year from Vietnam to the build up of the gulf war not with rookie army but well experienced army.

Training (like the one the SANDF gets) is sufficient to cover up for experience. 90% of the US soldiers that fought in the Gulf War had no experience while Iraq had all her troops experienced in the Iraq/Iran war.

We all know how it turned out, experience didn't count for much when properly trained US Forces came bones-crashing the Iraqis.
correct! But the US army has never really been inactive since world war 2. With all their peace keeping and intervention operations across the world..

Meaning, you don't know the history of SA military. What about in Angola? Is still that not international platform?
i understand that in the 80s and late 70s that marked the desire of the soviet union to extend its ideology to africa by military and economic means, several african countries where target of which southafrica and nigeria and to a lesser extent ethiopia where the main juice. Southafrica then was still an apatheid country and in all honesty was a mere extension of anglo-dutch europe. Southafrica developed her military and hardware companies were heavily budgeted and they came up with many advanced weaponry. Still Her army has no experience in warfare . The Southafrica that was birthed in 1994, that reflects the southafrican army today, though still seen across the world as a quasi europe extension, do not have soldiering experience. Her military might be sophisticated but her soldiers still lacking real battle experience. This was proved in Mali or an east African country.

Does getting the M23 out of Congo not count as "international performance"?
it cannot be called a conventional was situation or a military intervention in the strict sense of the word. It war indeed a kind of military operation but not warfare.

SA soldiers performed well in Angola,Tanzania,Korea,Mozambique,Zambia,Botswana,Lesotho,Namibia,CAR,DRC,Korea,Europe and other countries.

SA had nuclear weapons. 6 bombs were already built, plans were now fitting such weapons on ICBMs(intercontinental ballistic missiles)

What's new to others,SA has been doing that since the 80s.

GET YOUR FACRS STRAIGHT.
you said SA "had" nuclear weapons but not "have". Then that settles it for it strengthens my argument. Even though i still do not buy most of your assertions.

All products from the 80s were designed to meet the needs of the then SADF not exports. Operational requirements for the war in Angola, and what shape the battlefield might take in 90s if nothing changed.

SA had air deliverable nuclear weapons.

Attempts were on "mounting" them on ICBMs.

Countries?

Cuba,North Korea,Soviet blog countries,Angola to Mozambique.

still did not negate what i have been saying. With all of south africa's advance weaponry, they still have not performed at the international level with their soldiers on foreign soil. And south africa is not Nuclear armed, PLEASE.

The challenges which influenced the USA to buy "SA design" vehicles, which were introduced to the SA army in the 80s shows what they're going through is something we solved in the 80s.

Listen to your self: Triumphed against apartheid?

Get your facts straight Mr or you're a Nigerian and I should call you a "Oga"?

SA soldiers are admired world over for their fighting capabilities.
lol. I and maybe the world know of one or two south african military hardware companies but never south african soldiers. We know south african companies have drone capabilities and was attempting nuclear in the 80s or thereabout until the US halted them. Which country has south african soldiers performed their gallantry?

still doesnt negate what i said. Good weaponry do not always make good soldier or military. Southafrica supplying US vehicles doesnt make them military giants in any way whatsoever. The only scenario where south african army have triumphed is against apatheid, my humble opinion.

There's a difference between a "military" and an "army". If the Nigerian "military" is compromised from within, then the issue is very much that of "military capabilities".
ok i think the word "compromised" is been defined in a whole broader concept than my quote meant. The Nigerian army is compromised to be "indecisive" in some scenarios due to political manipulation. This does not in any way in my ,opinion, hamper their capabilities. Their discipline maybe.

I understand that the Boko haram crisis has become the yardstick for gauging the Nigerian Military. But i beg to differ. It is still not a proper conventional warfare and the political class in Nigeria is playing political warfare with it. Our peace keeping records stands to be beaten yet. I dare to say that any country ,no matter how advanced , faced with a terrorist outfit that hides within civilians and does hit and run will also find it a challenge to deal with. Couple with the fact that the political leadership is shielding their sponsors, you get a glimps of what we are facing in Nigeria.

It is what the US faced in Afghanistan, Iraq etc. SouthAfrica that most of you are routing for are indeed well equipped but i must remind you that when they launch a peace keeping mission in Mali or a certain east African country, they were slaughtered like chickens in spite of their advanced weapons.

Countries with strong armies don't have civilians challenging the state army on battlefields... it's a privilege allocated for weak states such as Somali, DRC and Nigeria.
i think Nigeria is different from the aforementioned countries. It is more of a political and ethnic complexities rather than military capabilities. Former US ambassador to Nigeria Walter C. is of the opinion that the Nigerian army is being compromised from within.

My opinion is Egypt.

The armed forces of Egypt are the largest on the African continent and one of the biggest in the world (ranked 11th), consisting of the Egyptian Army, Egyptian Navy, Egyptian Air Force and Egyptian Air Defense Command.

Egypt maintains a large paramilitary force under the control of the Ministry of Interior. They number around 250,000 strong and are known as the Central Security Forces. The government also has a relatively strong National Guard and Border Security Forces however they, unlike the Central Security Forces, come under the control of the Ministry of Defence and are reported to number 60,000 and 20,000 respectively.
I do not know of the strongest military in africa but i know Nigeria have the biggest and one of the strongest in Africa.
Foreign Affairs › Synagogue: SA Accuses Nigeria Of Not Having DNA Technology- Bodies Yet To Arrive by lezz(op): 10:06am On Oct 06, 2014
Families of south Africans who died in the
Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) collapse
have an indefinite wait for the return of the bodies
– which continue to decompose, the South Africa
government said. “We wish we had (a timeline). We are entirely at the
mercy of the Nigerians,” said government
spokesperson Phumla Williams. She said that the SA government had decided that it
needed to have a frank discussion with the families
about the state the bodies would be in when they
were returned. She said the families were told: “We are appealing
to you that you expect the worst. I don’t think you
want to see your relative in the state that they are
in…The majority of them – I don’t think that they
are looking good”. Earlier the Sunday Independent reported that in
some mortuaries, bodies were being kept cool with
fans and no refrigeration, a claim the Nigerian
government denied. On Friday, it was announced that the post-mortems
of all the 116 victims had been completed. Eighty
South Africans were among those killed when the
multi-storey guest house attached to the
Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos collapsed
on 12 September. Williams said that they believed three or four of the
bodies from South Africans killed were in a better
state because they had been embalmed quickly. The government had hoped that the process of
repatriation would move quickly after the post-
mortems. However, this process had been frustrated by the
fact that Nigerian officials had insisted on doing
DNA testing themselves. “They don’t have the technology.” She said that South Africans had hoped “at least to
assist” in the process since. Nevertheless, the government was still waiting to
hear if the bodies had been transported to a service
provider for the testing. “We don’t know when they are going to finish.” She said the government had also learned that
“because of the state in which the bodies are in, the
DNA testing is not going to be a quick process”. This left the government reluctant to estimate a date
for the return of the bodies as it did not want to
create unnecessary expectations. However, Williams asserted that “at any stage; we
[the SA government] are ready to go and fetch (the
bodies)”.

Romance › Re: The Growing Trend Of Men Shying Away From Court or White Wedding by lezz(m): 7:55pm On Oct 05, 2014
Sweetlemon:
They assume ownership of a bride once the bride price has been paid. If the girl is lucky enough they will do traditional wedding but the white or even court wedding will be till further notice. In fact, unless a girl's family are strong Christians who will insist on the complete wedding rites before allowing their daughter move in permanently with man, the man will not think seriously about a formal wedding.

The thing is that most girls are too willing to allow this happen. Unless they pester the man for a court or white wedding, they will wait a long long time, after dropping one or two kids before having this. But their wives don't seem to be very serious about this. I mean, this trend is becoming too rampant nowadays. A good case study is that of P Square duo. (I love P Square and their brides not saying this to hate o) All the other celebs did both trad and white almost immediately after. Yet the P Square family even their brother Jude, are not about taking their brides down the aisle. I know a few girls personally who are doing this.

Ladies please let's be very careful with this issue. A church or at least a court wedding is more solid. With a traditional or just introduction, the man can wake up one morning and throw you out of the house, bring in another woman and there is little or nothing you can do. But when documents have been signed, you get the opportunity to fight for rights to property, fair treatment, etc if you can get a good lawyer. Also, with a certificate, your marriage is recognized anywhere in the world. For instance, without a marriage certificate, your "hubby" living abroad cannot invite you over abroad as it's done in most countries. You will have to go through another route.

Please if you are in this kind of arrangement, use all wisdom available to you to get yourself an official document. The longer you procrastinate, the more difficult it will be for the man to finally tie the knot while you live in his house.
when a man completes the traditional requirements in marrying his wife, the marriage is complete. The woman should move in with him. All other forms of marriages are secondary. Any family insisting on keeping their daughter after all traditional requirements have been fulfilled is meddling. Court or white weddings are at the discretion of the couple later on if they so wish. Africans licking western azzes without a thought.

gudmorning to you too ignorant fool! Nigeria doesnt carry the burden of west africa. Get that into your head. No westafrican country depend on ur country for a living. The french speaking westafrican countries dont neither do the english speaking west african countries. Rather its the whole of westafrica carrying nigeria's burden. Wherever u go in westafrica, u see nigerians there scrambling for jobs, this is because ur big bloated couldnt provide jobs for them. U always brag about being the giant of africa, what giant receives grants and donations? China donates 1 million$ to nigeria to help fyt ebola. English.cntv.com. 2. U.s.a donates antiretroviral to nigeria to help hiv/aids patients coz nigeria cant afford it. 3. Global fund grants nigeria 335million$ to fyt aids, tuberculosis and malaria. The list is endless. So before u open ur mouth to speak trash, make sure u know that nigeria has. a donor -support economy too. u are giant of poverty, ignorance and stuppidity!
common, my angry midget, you and I know that Nigerians dominate the whole of west africa with trade and business. Dongote's empire extends to Liberia and our west african gas pipe projects extends to all of west Africa and our gas is being sold to west african countries including ghana for a mere petance kobo-kobo. That is why when your country was gas sabotaged by Nigeria it threw ghana into the cave era and there's nothing ghana can do about. Because our gas is given to ghana for next to nothing.

In Ecowas sub region Nigeria carries more than 70% of the burden of the subregion. We sent Cash and technical aid of Medical personel and training skills. ghana was sending local rice to liberia.

Now you mentioned Nigeria getting aid from China and US over ebola and hiv... Men your brain is filled with puzzy fluid and secretion. HIV AND TB are global issues and they get global attention. When US was hit with Huricane Katrina, france, India and Mexico were sending relief materials. Does that make US with a gdp of 17 trillion dollars a donation dependent country? No.

Same way Africa's giant, your master, Nigeria with a Gdp of .5 trillion dollars, biggest movie and entertainment industry, west africa's financial headquaters cannot be a donation dependent country by donations from China over Ebola or TB.
We are talking about ghana whose gdp is barely the size of lagos and still wait on donations to run its economy in 2014. That is neo colonisation at its best. That is why the west is turning all of you to gays and gayzz by telling you what happens in your country.

Now here is a fact for you. nigeria is in the high middl income country that consists of countries like Turkey, Mexico, brazil, indonesia, China, Russia, SouthAFRICA.

Ghana is in the low income countries like Sudan, Afghanistan, congo and Niger.

Ghana is known for nothing cos she is nothing. Its citizens are dull and docile and mediocre-contented. That is why everything Nigeria does ghana copies. A lot of swaggerless ghanian males have lost their women to smarter Nigerian guys that is another reason to your hate.

Another possibility is that Nigeria has successfully given ghana is true legacy when we named a low quality bag after you and used them to send your forebears away who couldn grow beyond shoe mending and gave keeping. Today some returned to be hawking alomo and kpoph kpoph in Nigerian cities.

Why Nigerians are opening factories banks and wholesale trading and transport companies in ghana.
And Nigeria is still providing an E-space (Nairaland)for you to better your petty life in a petty country of no international reckoning. What more can we do for you?

Gkana's economy is still dwindling; Britain is still donating l money and aids and telling ghana what and what not to do. The dstiny of 25 million docile ghanaian sold accross the atlantic like yams and cocoa.

The onky di3ference between the 1958 ghana and the ghana of 2014 is that Britain allow you to have a flag and a puppet, rubes stamp president.

We undesstand why you envy-hatethe independent, aggressive and pcce-setting Nigeria.
And i can to understand why a slave any like you would begrudge a free lad like me.
I know a Nigerian taking his time to play with ynu like i'm doing is a dream come true for you.

mrham03: fuckeduppedness at its peak! Didnt nigeria beg u.s.a for arms? Didnt nigeria go for loan from china? Ur country is soo useless that your that nigerians come to ghana to collect ghanaian passports. Ghana commands respect from u.s.a ,u.k and the world but nigeria is blacklisted as a terrorist country.
begging for arms? You sound so bruised. Countries dont beg for arms, they so cheap even rabels can afford. Then you mentioned loan, you are even worse than a menstrating female: every country in the world takes loan. And the US is the king of sourcing for loans.

Ghana's case is different, you beg to feed. You beg to stay alive. That is the direct equivalent of begging without dignity, like street begging.

Ghana waits for donations and grants before passing your budget for the year. Donations are not loans. They are gifts given to near-collapsed countries who are willing to surrender their lives to their benefactor .

That is why ghana could not pass her anti gay laws because UK says no : WE FEED YOU.

hehehehe. NIGERIA can give you the grant and still allow you pass the anti gay law,

mrham03: just be honest and name the number of accounts u have coz i know u have more than 2. Ur companies in ghana is a testimony that ghana's economy is strong and powerful but dont forget that ur companies are not top players in ghana. They all rank second to bottom over here. Let me give u an example of a top player company. Alomo bitters is a name on every nigerian's lips after just few years in nigeria. This is what i call a top player company. U keep mentioning nigerian companies but let me remind u that the major players in nigeria's economy isnt owned by nigerians at all. Eg mtn, dstv, ecobank, barclays, airtel. So stop bragging coz nigerians own nothing.
alomo an industry in nigeria? Haha haha. Please nigga, who is mentioning mtn or airtel? We have, glo, dangote and Zenith and yeah Ecobank is nigerian. All these are players in Nigeria as well as in ghana
Not even mentioning the thousands of midium scale business and retails.hehehe. Nigeria is years ahead in west africa.
