Pls teamie is it good to bend down at 36weeeks to sweep cos my uncle's wife kept shouting that I have stop sweeping and I swept today the right side of my stomach is aching I can't even stand upright again,I am crying right now

Why is it dat some women are always cruel/unfriendly when they see a preggy mama knowing how it feels to be in that condition . Abeg ur Uncle's wife shld take a chill pill o, all pregnancies aint the same cos She will still keep up with the tales of how she used to wash clothes and sweep when she was preggy like you!!


Plz if you are not comfy sweeping, stop it...it is not good to bend during pregnancy not even at this stage. You can get the sweep Brush with the long stick so you don't have to bend all the way or you can use the Tip of the small broom so dat makes it a little easier for you to stand in an upright position instead of Bending!!

Some people don't take to epidurals too well. I don't. And a few other women don't. Some times, epidurals do slow down labour (I could barely push and I tore from the pressure of baby coming out and being unable to push well, but it wasn't a bad tear). If you must take an epidural, take it on time, 4cm. So you have enough time to get used to it.

If you must go without epidural, be as active as possible. I mean, active. Not your regular day schedule but active. And once labour starts, from active to transitional stage, be active: wall squats give more support than regular squats (time it during contractions), labour is the time to dance and dance well (dance like a masquerade), twerk if you need to break your water (because that hurts less than Pitocin), if you get tired during labour, ask for pain relieving IV drip (before 6cm). Use that time to rest and get your strength up. Once you get to 8cm, get on your knees. Gravity will push baby into birth canal faster. Get a doula (any person who can ginger you, preferably someone who has delivered or someone used to Sports). It could be a sister, an aunt or even a brother. Leave the prayer warriors outside your labour room (because sometimes, labour is a mental game and you will eventually feel fear and you need a coach). Know what to expect (you'll be in pain and want to run away, you will get thirsty so have ice blocks to suck on). Remember, labour could be 3 hours or 18 hours. That's upto you and God, you can't control it.

Whatever you do, be firm but flexible. If you decide to take an epidural, nothing wrong with it.

Rant time

I cried yesterday in church ehn because of contractions. I woke in the morning very energized, prepared for church, ate,did fine makeup and snapped plenty pishures not knowing I was going to ruin the makeup with tears. After normal Sunday school my body was doing me somehow but I still stayed till praise time, when I was dancing if you see the sharp pain I felt ehn chai!!!!..
I called our pastor's wife outside and she took me to the car to rest, na then the contraction even come start wella . I started crying oh forgetting makeup and fine girl oh, she had to call our church doctor out of the service for him to check me.
Yesterday was really somehow for me

The Lord is your strength dear, I guess you need to take it easy on yourself...don't worry,it will end in praise IJN!!

Plz I have some questions about the Best Brands when it comes to Baby accessories, clothings etc cos am confused on which Brand to buy and what not to buy, dunno if these questions have been overflogged here ( you can refer me to the page to Check on this thread if they have been answered but not seen any tho).

I have also seen some products with their reviews online but am still confused ( you know you can't trust this online things atimes) , dats why I need answers personally from experienced mamas here so I can combine with the the ones I got from some few experienced mamas at my clinic( just so am on the right track) .

1. Best brand of car seat/ stroller to buy... ( is the stroller necessary here in Nigeria as per the hustle and Bustle).

2.which is better: Huggies or Molfix.

3. Best Brand of reusable diapers (quantity to buy).

4. Best Brand of Breast pad to buy

5. Best Brand of Baby oil, lotion and powder to buy ( johnsons had a bad review of recent so am kinda confused )

6. Best Brand of Feeding bottles, flask , Breast pump and sterilizer(or I just strerilze the old fashion way)

7. Best brand of clothings( sleep suits, jumpsuits, shawls, socks, moccasins etc) or can I just buy randomly if they look nice

8. Do I need to wash all the new clothings before use ?

9. Best brand of Baby walker and rocker/swing( asides mamaroo).

10. Best brand of maternity Bra ( am on the busty side )

11. Best brand of Baby cot, playard or Bassinet.

Eh yaa kpele.
I've had three, all done by the same surgeon and each felt different. But with all of them, I had to get out of bed the morning after surgery (hospital policy, to help me heal) and that wasn't fun, but it was beneficial. Moving from the bed to a chair just beside the bed felt like building a rocket from scratch. It was a lot of work. The most annoying part was that I was told to get back on the bed and rest again within a few minutes (precisely how long it takes to change bed sheets).

Breastfeeding wasn't fun because of the pain in my uterus, but that only hurt me on the first three days. Still, I couldn't resist nursing my babies and wincing until I couldn't stand it anymore. Being on constant pain killers helped a lot, as I was told not to endure it but ask for medication.

But in all, I could walk unassisted within three days and felt no pain at all by the fourth, so the little stress the nurses gave me helped a lot. I've never had trouble with the site even though the same spot has been cut thrice.

This time I'm using another hospital and automatically another doctor and I pray it goes as well as it always has for me.

Have we started feeling the braxton hicks yet? I think I have, but not very regularly yet. But the kicks and tumblings are so much a times I feel lo wants to jump out!

And Chai! I discovered stretch marks on my tummy!! I used to be happy, thinking there was no stretch marks o, until one day... And dh had been seeing it all the while o, yet he never told me I accused him and he said he thought it was a normal phase. Biko, what can I use to remove them oo Abi they will go on their own after delivery? I rubbed Shea butter on it, but I don't know if it's effective. Chai! Motherhood is bae. Dh said I should leave it, so that it will not disturb his child

Happy New month cappo and my fellow Teamies!! Did a scan last week and confirmed my EDD according to my LMP(now Now 1st, still team Nov) . Lo's Gender is XX(just what my Hubby and I wanted) , will still have to do re do another scan tho to avoid stories that touch ..

About the stretch mark, started using Coconut and shea butter in my first trimester, but my hubby spotted a tiny winny stretch mark on the lower side of my bump cos I stopped using the oil and butter religiously...choi you needed to see the way I applied both on my Bump immediately .No BH yet...So far so good, the journey has been smooth!!

May God see us through the remaining weeks!!

Glucose is safe, I take it atimes while Energy drink is a No No. You can get Complan milk, it's a milk specifically for preggy and Nursing mamas!!

Does it mean folic acid and fesolate isn't enough for the fetus? I need to know more cus my hospital gave just these for antenatal and I know it isn't enough.

I don't mind dropping the previous for a better one. I wanted to start with pregnacare but as the hospital was giving folic and fesolate I just didn't bother. I was thinking maybe the hospital felt its cheaper for them.

Please which is better I don't mind the money and I hope it isn't too late to start a new drug. I'll be 5months next week, edd Jan.

If you feel the drugs aint enough, you can do pregnacare plus or Obron 6.you really don't need to use any Extra folic acid with it but I don't know if u can use the Fesolate with it. When my PCV was low I was using Pregnacare with Astymin Forte in my first Trimester, then there was a period another Doc advised I use the pregnacare with Folic Acid,which I later stopped.


What am trying to say is dat it all depends on your body and pregnancy, what works for me might not work For you. But you shld let your Doc know if u wantu take any other prenatal drugs asides the one you. using at the moment and No it ain't too late to start using another pre natal Drug!!

Hi mamas, I was wondering if anyone has used Emzor omega 3 fish oil and Puritan's pride fish oil in pregnancy. I was using pregnacarePlus but I opted for Emzor omega 3 fish oil the next month cause of cost, I used Emzor omega 3 fish oil for one month. Now I'm using puritan's pride omega3 fish oil... My major concern now is if these fish oils doesn't contain mercury,the fishier it smells,the worse it is they say.. I just read about mercury and I'm so concerned.. The Emzor smells fishier than the puritan's pride. The puritan's pride has no smell and it was written on the bottle that it's been purified against mercury and it's good for fetal development,but the ingredients reads mackerel which I think contains mercury,and it warns if pregnant consult a dr before usage...My Dr says it's not necessary to use omega 3 fish oil. But I really want Omega 3 cause of all the goodness for the baby.. please guys help,as I'm scared for mercury.. Sorry for the long post.

I use Puritan's pride Omega 3 at the moment with the drug they gave me at the Hospital, and it's mercury free..i used to take pregnacare Plus before but the vitamins in it were not enough for me cos it's compressed so they gave another Drug at the Hospital(contains all the vitamins needed), dats was why I got the Puritan's pride Fish oil cos I use Fish oil even before pregnancy, it's very good for the skin.

Asked my Doc before I started using it,he told me I just wanted to waste my money but it's safe...Even my pharmacist said it's safe so you have nothing to worry about dear, you can still use your Fish oil!!

I used aphrodisiac in my days, Spanish fly specifically. Not sure I would recommend that for a preggie mama cos every woman reacts differently to it o.

It can turn you to a horse. . . On and on, no orgassm, no joy, you just want to keep going.

I wldnt know but I wld advise you just use it after you drop your Baby so as you don't subject your baby to unnecessary risk ... You know Pregnancy is a delicate\ special period, we have to watch what we eat and drink..Am waiting to drop my Lo too b4 using it again!!
