MY BIRTH STORY
I had my princess last year November after TTC for almost 2 years. I couldn't go with other method of family planning other than the use of CD and besides I was on exclusive breast feeding so I never thought I could be pregnant.
I got to know when I was almost 18weeks gone. The journey was loaded with lots of package but God saw me through.
I had appointment with the doctor when I was exactly 40 weeks. He advised I should be checked and was 3-4cm dilated with the cervix still posterior according to the nurse and that was how the anxious journey to meet my Prince.

BIRTH STORY!!

My pregnancy journey was quite eventful,it came with Backaches,Migraine,itchy red eyes and hunger cramps(ate like a whale).Prior to getting my BFP,had a miscarriage last year(Blighted ovum) ,then got pregnant 4 months Later...I wasn't so ready for it but still counted it as a blessing in disguise.Had an hitch free pregnancy journey,My Baby was measuring well,heartbeat was always good,protein was never detected in my Urine,PCV was perfect..Baby was in a cephalic position all through till she changed to an oblique position @ 38 weeks.

I was already getting worried at this point because I had started doing all the preggy exercises I saw online and I even ate pineapple and drank Zobo like a thief,yet Labour didn't come naturally

Fast forward to 40 weeks, she turned to a cephalic position but her head wasnt fully down on my pelvis and there was still no sign of Labour, then my Doc said we should wait for one more week to give Labour a chance naturally.it was still the same at 41 weeks.


We went back to the hospital ready for induction on a wednesday,Doc inserted Balloons to open and soften my cervix(the whole procedure was quite painful).medically, the Balloons were suppose to fall off the next day but mine fell out 2 hours later,the Doc and nurses were quite surprised.


finally,my cervix has started dilating or so I thought. Then,it was time for the almighty Drip(oxytocin)...i Was so scared to the extent dat I was already acting out the Drama in my head.
The first Drip was passed and it lasted till Thurs morning,was still watching TV,sleeping in between and Gisting with DH.the second oxytocin drip was passed and I was checking this thread in between irregular contraction.Doc came to check me,Lo and behold I wasn't even anywhere near Dilation, he couldn't even Feel the Baby's head.

Baby's heartbeat was still very much ok cos it was constantly checked while I was on the Drip.
It was at this point Doc said I shld be given one more drip till it gets to half and if nothing happens, a C section will be carried out. I and DH didn't have a problem with it cos we have being opened to any Birth plan dat was going to be convenient for me and my Miss world. Besides, we were already getting tired and anxious to meet her.
I was on the third oxytocin Drip by Thurs Evening still sleeping and chatting when the Doc came in to stop the drip and told me to get ready for a C. Section the following morning cos he didn't want the baby to be in distress.

I was prepped for the procedure the following morning,a Urine bag was passed(quite discomforting) and I was taken to the theatre .when I got to the theatre and I saw the instruments, had to leave to use the toilet .(i was kinda nervous but not scared)

I was taken back to the theatre, an anesthesia was administered and I was numb from my waist down to my leg,but was still awake tho.in less than 5 minutes,my Miss world was brought out with the loudest cry I have ever heard with a fat cord around her neck ...She started sucking all her fingers in her mouth(just the way I saw her sucking during scan). It was actually the cord that kept pulling her back and she was struggling to de-tangle herself from it.

I giggled when I heard her cry,she was brought to me and I saw the most beautiful creature with hair on fleek,Lol.

While I was being stitched up,I started feeling drowsy,an oxygen mask was placed on me at intervals.the Stitching was done and I had to stay in the theatre for the anesthesia to wear off.
After few hours, was told to walk(the most painful walk of my life)from the theatre to my bed with the help of the nurses and my DH.started walking steadily the next morning.Doc came to replace the initial plaster with a tiny one on sunday morning, I was walking freely by then,the Guests that came to see me kept asking if I was sure it was a C section.
In all, I give God the Glory for a successful preggy journey and I also wantu thank mamas here for answering my questions, thank you for sharing ur Experiences,learnt from it and it really gave me strength when I was at the hospital.shop closed till 2020 tho

Good evening mothers,I have read on a number of occasions here dt one can get nice baby stuffs at little me in dosunmu...pls any mama that knows how to locate d store from idumota should pls give me directions.tanx.

Plz don't do all ur shopping in one store, they will cheat you and you wldnt even get varieties...there are so many nameless stores asides little me dat sells Original stuffs and at a very cheap price, like mama zaynie said, you can get your hospital/delivery pack in the smaller stores.
Make sure you check expiry date of liquid antiseptic items , it will be nice if u can get smone dat knows Dosunmu market very well.

My MIL followed me when I was doing my shopping, and she gave it to them hot hot at the market, she made sure we got quality stuffs.

And plz don't be shy to bargain, you can go to diff stores to bargain,then u pick the best price so mama be ready to waka o, just know u spending the whole day shopping @ the market, dats why u need smone to follow u so u don't get tired and you can use those "Alabaru" (dunno the English name) to help u carry ur items and u pay them a token.i hope this helps a little, happy shopping!!

Hi all. Please is it normal to be easily annoyed by things your hubby does? These days he pisses me off so easily and I dont know if its pregnancy hormones or maybe we need to work on our marriage.

I guess it's the hormones at work cos my DH said I was always angry at every little things he does in my first trimester.I got so aggy to the extent dat if I don't get to eat on time, I get pissed at him.But I settled in and stopped being aggy when I started embracing my pregnancy in my second trimester.

It's just a phase, it will surely fade!!

Same here with wifey. I'm so tired, as though i'm the one carrying the pregnancy. The connection with my daughter, while in the womb is awesome. Can't wait to hold her in my arms.

She lost her plug this morning tho, and have been having contractions since two weeks now. Doc says he has to wait until we are at most 41+3 weeks before starting with induction. I pray she delivers soon, cos the baby's weight is going on the high side already (3.67kg), especially when she weighed only 2.8kg 2 weeks ago.

I ain't even bothered about that weight issue again cos I know babies add at the latter week of the journey... Your wife should pop soon tho, we will be back with our BA IJN!!

I really can't believe my BabyGirl aint here yet,today happens to be my EDD and at 40 weeks already.Baby kicking very well,heartbeat still very perfect.

Had a VE today and Doc said she ain't fully head down on my pelvis yet @40 weeks ,I have being sad and moody since I got the news.

And my Doc said induction is not even going to work at all at this moment,so he advised I stay for 1 more week instead of the Extra 5 days(hospital policy) but if anything happens before then,i should come to the hospital.And if nothing happens by then,it will be CS.

Am so paranoid and tired,Even my DH too(sorry we are first timers). We have both being opened to whatever Birth plan I will be having right from Day one tho but it's just sad that after all these months of a stressfree pregnancy,it's now getting scary at the time we least expert it but I know the Devil can only try but can't prevail.

Hopefully, I Get a miracle before my Extra 1 week ends,or I jejely carry myself to go and do an elective CS cos honestly,am tired..my tired is crying
