RIP. Death is a debt everyone will pay sometimes, somehow.

He died at 85, that's fair enough.

He has made his mark in the world.

People are now skeptical of aids from China.

But do beggers have a choice?

Politics › Re: Lockdown: Ogun Unveils Stimulus Package Items, To Begin Distribution Saturday by LibertyRep:
Ordinarily, with adequate and verifiable data, the distribution of the relief items shouldn't be much of a problem.

As it stands now, no one knows the exact population of this country. Even Ogun does not know how many people live there, hence the relief material might be grossly inadequate

They deliberate frustrate any attempt to have a credible census solely for pecuniary gains. Now the chicken has come home to roost but sadly, it will enrich them the more.

Someone suggested that the relief materials be channeled through the CDAs but I laugh. Some of those CDAs executives ( especially in areas populated by the not too educated people) are even corrupt than the politicians we love to castigate.

We are in a fix, the government knows, and the governed know. We shouldn't have allowed Corona in, when we know our limitations.

Two reasons why people join the army or any other uniformed job

1. To have a licence for harassment
2. To have an antidote for harassment.
Politics › Re: Covid-19: We Have Not Received A Kobo From Private Donations – Lai Mohammed by LibertyRep: 12:01pm On Apr 03, 2020
I'm one of those who believe that the private sector shouldn't give their money to the government. If they could mismanage the fund meant for the unfortunate IDPs, they'll do worse to the free COVID-19 relief donations if allowed to control it.

Man's inhumanity to man.

The uniform shouldn't be a symbol for oppression.

The intention of an average Nigerian who applies for any uniform job is either to have a licence to oppress others or a means to escape oppression.
Politics › Re: Wole Soyinka: Garba Shehu Is A Paid Propagandist Hired To Distract Nigerians by LibertyRep: 3:39pm On Apr 02, 2020
Prof. shouldn't have responded.

Garba and the government he speaks for are at all times lowest rating.

Prof. shouldn't allow Garba use him shine.

I'm not aware private hospitals are allowed to attend to COVID-19 patients.

But then where are the Governors of Oyo and Bauchi being treated?

Only the poor obey the law.

What's Enugu Government waiting for?

We can't dismiss any claim at this critical moment with a wave of the hand, however illogical it might be.

Take this man to one of the isolation centers already and let's see what he is up to.

What about Prof Iwu?

Politics › Re: Covid-19: What President Buhari Has Done, And Is Doing, By Presidency by LibertyRep:
Femi and Garba must really think Nigerians still take them serious with their unending press releases.

You can't shield the President from his people and except applauses.

Is it not in this same country that we usually have the quarterly presidential media chat?

Like someone said above, the bar has really been lowered.

Someone should please remind Mr. Adesina that the weekly FEC meeting can still hold virtually like UK, UAE and even Lagos did last week.
Politics › Re: Garba Shehu Blasts Wole Soyinka, Says Science Is Not Fiction by LibertyRep:
Those men who actually stood their ground against the military and fought to ensure the enthronement of democracy will not shut their mouths now and allow some self acclaimed converted democrats and their opportunist aides make mess of the entire process.

The Corona pandamic didn't start yesterday, the decision to lockdown the affected states wasn't taken on Sunday. If the President had truly wanted to follow the democratic norms to seek the approval of the NASS, he could have done so and still get the nods of the NASS members easily. After all if it's loan they wanted approval for, they know how to go about it.

Make no mistake, the lockdown is perhaps the most apt decision to make and has received massive support from everyone but please do it within the ambit of the law and not set some unpallatable precedents

If anyone is going to be allowed to ride rough on the constitution, it shouldn't be this government judging by its antecedents of disobeying valid court orders.

Politics › Re: COVID-19 Lockdown: Food Markets To Open Between 10:00am And 2:00pm Daily – FG by LibertyRep:
But what difference does it now make? Does the virus become impotent within those hours?

The truth is that we can never sustain a total lockdown like in those organized countries.

If we survive this, it should call for sober reflection and a reason for us to truthfully examine the very foundation of this country.
Christianity Etc › Re: In Israel, You Will Be Jailed For Preaching About Christ. by LibertyRep: 4:46pm On Apr 01, 2020
Almost all religions tends to be hostile and emasculate the minority whenever they are in the majority.

You only hear them shout persecution when they are in the minority. Examples abound.

Imagine the confusion in Ogun State today.

Business › Re: Coronavirus: Mike Adenuga Donates N1.5 Billion To Fight COVID-19 by LibertyRep: 9:42pm On Mar 30, 2020
It is good that he's standing up to be counted amongst those that rose to help humanity at this time

If it is possible, these men from the private sector should have formed a separate group, donate their fund into that private pocket and privately expend it for this purpose.

If politicians can be heartless enough to steal from the unfortunate IDPs, is it the free money from donors that they won't steal?
Health › Re: 20 New Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria. Now 131 Confirmed Cases, 2 Deaths by LibertyRep: 9:35pm On Mar 30, 2020
There are far more people already infected than we know officially. There aren't adequate testing facilities and only a handful of people are being tested.

When they came on air to boast of being ready, one would've thought they have all the needed facilities. Now breeze don blow and fowl yansh is in the open.
