BusinessRe: How Do Business People Cope In This Harsh Economy? by Lifemanage: 8:13am On Jan 27, 2024

Alright.
So how do one go about dis cow rearing stuff?
We should start experimenting local options on feeds for poultry without involving foreign exchange. Honestly, I wonder what's the essence of research institutes and numerous universities in Nigeria if they cannot solve local problems in the Nigeria business ecosystem.

I hear someone is doing in this in the east. Start with 1 male and 1 female. Learn the basics. The same process with goats. This is just the way forward. Rural businesses should come alive in productive activities.

We need to localise the economy...dependence on foreign inputs is the reason it is affecting business owners

To the question, deepen the use of local source of raw materials. Instead of rearing poultry, go for goats and dogs. Rear Cows in ranch system

I think the only way is to do more of city-rural migration and things will balance up. The insecurity is the major problem of the country right now. More migrations could have balanced up things but the north and the east is being made inhabitable....as a strategic thinker......something's has to come to play
FamilyRe: Getting Married And Living In Your Parents House. What Is Wrong About It by Lifemanage: 11:14pm On Jan 25, 2024

These days we see a lot of people saying at a certain age they are suppose to move out of their parents house. We even see were people attack others for still staying with their parents and thinking of marriage.

If your parents have a big and comfortable home were you stay and then you have a good job or flowing business in that same city or town, what is wrong to remain in your parents home and get married there especially when they are very happy for you to always be around them with your own family.
Nothing wrong. Don't mind society. If the house is big to accommodate another family within Ur father's house. Stay and build Ur empire from there

What is the standard recommendation for roof Design as par BS8110 or EC2?

I repeat in building cross ventilation is achieved through openings not roof.

It allow for quick run-off rain water and prevent leakages as compare to flat roof..it’s more aesthetically pleasing and egocentric..it allow for better indoor air quality and thermal comfort in building. Finally, it last longer than flat roof.
Big lies....

Thanks for bringing this to public discuss.

I have always had my reservations for this trend which is fast gaining popularity.

Firstly, the assertion of improvement in water run off does not hold water. A 45 degree slope is enough evacuate any amount of precipitation.

The idea may have started from people copying western designs without configuring them to our climate.
The high roof creates space for the attic which "oyibo" people also use as living spaces. But in our clime, you would fry to death because of the heat up there.

Some have adduced that it makes the house cooler. This is another misconception because simple physics should tell them that the larger surface area of roofing tiles or aluminium exposed to the sun increases the convection of heat into the living spaces.

More worrisome is the addition of cornices or parapet which prevents the roof from breathing thereby trapping tremendous heat in the attic and by extension the living spaces below.

Visiting old institutions built during the colonial era, you will marvel at how passive those design were and are liveable even without artificial cooling e.g UI main library, UCH main structures, ABH.

In a nut shell, increasing floor to ceiling height with clerestory Windows is more tropical oriented than the miss-fit we are discussing.
Well said. It is a scam in the tropics

Advantage of high roofing

There's less danger of pooling water: On high-slope rooftops, gravity makes short work of any moisture—as the roof quickly channels the water down into gutters. The lower the slope, the longer moisture lingers on the rooftop where it degrades materials and turns weak spots into leaks.
Wrong. By experience they all leak. Na format for more money by the carpenter. Nothing special

If Cape Verde play Nigeria lasan. They will beat the hell out of us.

They will beat us blue black.

As in,they do not need that match at all as they are already top of the group with 6 points but they needed to make a point against Egypt and they really did.

This is a complete team.

As for Ghana. Their Military should line their players up and start wiping them koboko

Awon werey
Una just de yarn. Nigeria de tactical. It will not be an easy ride at all for any team that meets Nigeria. We were able to draw Equitorial Guinea with all their fire power. It is not as easy as most of u think. I am sure Nigerians will be shocked with this team

Check,where he was talking?
A Station of feferiti- or why can't they ask him simple questions:
1- How much did he spent on the Railways - even the $ Dollars for the Coaches he brought to Nigeria?
2- why did he refused to defend his Expenditures in the National Assembly that till today,it has become sine die, when he was invited by the 9th Assembly to tell more about his Ministry?
3- why was Nigeria Contract with China written in Chinese Language and did he understands the Chinese
Mandarin - Language implanted in that Chinese Contract?
4- Mr Amaechi should tell more than chewing his words, for to be Patrotic is very straight forward, than what he has done to Nigerians- by extension of the Railway line to Niger Republic is the most Unpatriotic and wicked thing, for he could have resigned and told Buhari - that it's against the Constitution, but here is claiming Sainthood, but it's now clearly seen by Nigerians, that he was unfaithful and to worsen things,he established the Transportation University in Buhari's State- but why?
He should just go and enjoy himself,as Nigerians, are Not missing him!
