In case the request was rejected, what would the person have to do to secure a date before January?

You'd have to stick to your regular appointment.

Mine was denied for failure to upload SEVIS FEE receipt. I called and mailed them the said SEVIS fee and they still have me same response that I have used my emergency request that it's one per MRV receipt, that if I want to apply for another emergency request, then I would have to pay for another VISA FEE.

I cancelled my appointment immediately and check for available dates in Lagos & saw December 11th.

That was how I was able to schedule December 11th. I pray that 11th December would favour me.

Has anyone who filled the emergency request form with Lagos Embassy in the last 7days got an appointment?

It's over 9days I filled the form but no response yet from the Lagos Embassy.

Hello all,

Has anyone gotten an emergency date in Lagos recently, like yesterday.

If yes, please, when did you apply & how long did it take them to reply you?

I'm not sure if you can, maybe someone else will answer that. But why can't you use the form to request for emergency appointment in lagos?

I have filled the form but, I'm just being paranoid. I hope the denial by Abuja would not affect my chances of getting emergency appointment in Lagos.

Thanks.

Hello house,

Can one book an appointment with Lagos, after booking with Abuja?

Like, can I create a new appointment profile for Lagos with the same MRV receipt, regardless of the fact that I have already booked an appointment with Abuja for March 15th & my emergency request was denied. I learned that there are dates in Lagos for December, so can I go ahead and create a new appointment profile for Lagos?

Treat as urgent.

Thanks.

Hello House,

Those that filled the emergency form with Lagos recently, how long did it take the embassy to reply you & schedule an appointment for you?

Thanks.

Like did you apply for the normal appointment before requesting for emergency appointment. Cos I sent a mail to them and they told me to follow the instructions for expedited interviews.. that means I'd have to book for February next year .. I no wan risk am oo. Please guys I need your advice. Getting down to Lagos now gk hard via road n getting a week off work May not be so feasible. embarassed

Yes, you have to book available appointment before you can see the option for emergency appointment. My scheduled interview is March 15th & now my emergency appointment was denied today and I cannot use the emergency appointment option again.

I'm just tired.

To get an emergency appointment,SEVIS fee is required. They made exceptions at Lagos embassy during this period and people were given appointments after filling the emergency form. Those called for interview today were 57.
I think they are still following the normal template at Abuja.
I would advise you switch to Lagos if you want to get an emergency appointment without paying SEVIS fee.
Again, you might be sent a mail that your emergency request has been approved just few days to the scheduled date.
I would advise you get your SEVIS fee paid since you would be paying it anyways.
Some people didn't go for their interviews today because they couldn't pay their SEVIS fee.

I paid my SEVIS FEE since May. I have just mailed it to them.

I'm just tired.
The US Embassy Abuja just denied my emergency VISA appointment request for failure to upload my SEVIS FEE receipt. I don't understand why SEVIS FEE RECEIPT should be important to get emergency appointment. SEVIS FEE is not a requirement for emergency appointment on their site. The only requirement is Form I-20 which I uploaded.

I called the VISA Appointment centre and the officer that picked said that nothing can be done to my case because emergency appointment is only granted once, that I should be checking on their site regularly for earlier appointment that I'm not the only one whose emergency appointment is denied, that the embassy is aware of our case.

Why is SEVIS FEE important now, won't I submit it on the interview day?

Now, I'm afraid if Lagos would grant me emergency appointment because I have already filled the form.

I'm just tired.

It seems Abuja is not conducting student's visa interviews and that is probably while no one is saying yes or no to your question. Abuja suddenly cancelled all interviews scheduled there late last week. Try and schedule in Lagos like everyone else.

Thanks. Do I need to feel new DS-160 & chose Lagos as interview point or I can just go ahead & request emergency appointment with Lagos?

Thanks.

It's like no one likes answering my questions.

I ask again, has anyone gotten appointment recently in Abuja?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Lildairo(m): 11:01am On Oct 16, 2020
From this FAQs, it is ok if one goes to Lagos for his/her interview even though the person chose Abuja as interview venue in his/her DS-160.

Has anyone gotten date recently for Abuja?

Please, who has received an appointment date for Abuja recently? I requested for an emergency VISA appointment since Thursday & nothing yet till now.

Can I request a date from Lagos even though my DS-160 interview location is LAGOS?

Abuja is just slow.

The earliest date I saw now for Abuja is March 2nd.

This is very funny because my sch. start date is January 13th.

Does this mean that one should book the appointment, then request for expedited appointment? Because, according to their site, you must have already scheduled an appointment before you can request for expedited (emergency) appointment.

Just confused.

I just got my visa approved about 30 minutes ago . Thanks to everyone who took their time to post on this thread , it helped prepare me for the likely questions.
However, I made sure to not read people’s answers because I wanted my own responses to be unique .

Thank you so much once again.
It was my first time
No travel history
No funding
Only applied to one school

Congrats Man!

Hello buddie,

Please, who knows that exact cost of SEVIS FEE in Naira and the Reciprocity fee?

Is there any issue if one applied to just one school?

Thanks.

The LSAT is a must for admission into a Law school in the USA, whether funding or not.

I really do not think you can get fully funded for Law degree in the US. You can get some form of scholarship that can aid with offsetting part of your tuition.

The LSAT is not a must. If is not mandatory for International students at the University of Illinois Urbana Champagne.

What is the essence of them asking us to choose our preferred test location when they know they wouldn't make use of it?

So they expect me to start traveling from Abuja to Imo State when I just left there last week. I chose Abuja as my preferred test location because that's where I stay.

We just love to inconvenience one another in this country.

This is my first comment on this thread.
I think people should stop looking for interview invitees who wrote in one centre or the other or who are from one state or the other.
Those things DO NOT MATTER.
NNPC has their criteria for selecting people to come for interviews and I BELIEVE it does not depend on where you wrote your exam or your state of origin (at least at this point).
If you've got an invite, start preparing.
If you haven't, you may wait (as some "sources" claim mails are still being sent) or you may move on.
I wish everyone the best.

Best comment so far.
