Pls how do u use multimeter to test oxygen sensors? Have taken my car virtually to all mechanics in Benin but dey seem to be lost as to what air fuel sensor is. Even the almighty mechanic workshops some are useless still.

You test for the resistance.If your O2 sensor have four wires,usually blue,white,and 2 black wire.Set the multimeter in ohms and test against the 2 black wires.If no reading or bad response,then change the sensor.

Don't be too hasty to spend unneccessary money or fall victim of scammers.
I had these same problem on my 2003 highlander.after much trial by error methods,nothing seemed working until I checked the 02 sensors.found out that the below oxygen sensor (the attached to exhaust pipe under the car) was bad after testing with multimeter.
After changing it,all the stalling,hesitations stopped and no more CEL.

I had a very bad hesitation and loss of power especially when the car jst covered short distance. Different shoe makers in Mechanics and rewires clothing were just fingering my highlander without solutions.They were guessing I should change plugs or coils or air flow meter.Until I met one rewire that scanned and said I should change the O2 sensor under the car.I did that,I was expecting the check engine light to go off immediately but not,I had to remove the EFI fuse and viola,it went off.

My questions are these:

1.Did I do the right thing by removing the fuse?
2.Could the removal wipe off any pulse width programme on the injectors?
3.How do I know that all is well now,as the CEL hasn't come up over a week now and the stalling and hesitation all gone too
4.Is it normal to feel a little drag when ascending a steep?

thanks. there are two catalysts. one at the engine side, the other under the car. which of the is the O2 sensor attached? besides is it obd2 scanner or obd1 scanner that I will use to scan this car apart from the multimeter? see my obd port.

O2 sensors are attached to the exhaust pipe from the engine down to the silencer.They come with 2,3 or 4 wires which can be tested with multimeter to know the one that is bad or not b4 wasting money

The problem at times is not the catalytic converter ' s absence but faulty O2 sensor attached to the exhaust pipe b4 the catalyst.Scan it to check for any faulty O2 sensor and replace incase of any.You can use multimeter to check the 2 black wires on the sensor,if it doesn't read,it's bad.

Secondly, standing behind ur dish, uou can attach a 2nd lnb to give you Startimes and Ses 5 package. The lnb should be attached to the lnb the same way multi tv lnb is attached to dstv dish.

Please,what did the mechanic do to solve the misfiring issue? My 2004 highlander was having similar problem and scan diagnosis shows lean mixture in bank 2.
At times it losses acceleration and drinks fuel like ologogoro.

Am not in Aba,all i wanted is possible solution to afore mentioned issues.
If any one knows exactly what the problem is or has experienced such issue before should please help me out.I dont want the rewires and mechs to be doing guess works on the car without success.

Mine is not with 3 row seat.Besides,am not in Lagos,are you referring to the coil on the spark plugs?

The check engine light has been on since I bought the car . recently it started dragging on idle mode and comes to halt a times when driving and depressing the accelerator without corresponding speed.Scanner shows P0300 (Random misfiring ).
Please,what do I do to overcome this issue as it's sapping my fuel seriously.

To activate Biss Key Menu on your decoder, Press 8280 quickly on your rc. A new screen will pop up, if nothing comes up, you must first activate the biss key option by pressing 6969, you will be prompted to enter a password, Just press 6969 again. Now, press 8280 to enter the Biss Key Menu…... To insert a biss key,
First, be on to the channel in question and press 8280, You will see a series of numbers and alphabet. You’ll mostly need to edit the first line.
Take a BISS key like this:
9E 37 79 4E B9 7F 4A 82 for T V 3 G h a n a
Be on TV3 Ghana, press 8280 and insert these codes side by side in the first line. Use the INFO key to insert alphabet. When you are done, press the EXIT botton and select YES to save the new settings.
