US, Democratic Presidential candidate, Joe Biden took significant strides towards winning the presidency on Wednesday.

But the incumbent President campaign team vowed to reverse them at the vote count and in the courts, ushering in a potentially prolonged endgame to the election and sparking tension across the United States.

International observers have declared their position on the Tuesday’s presidential election in the United States of America, countering President Donald Trump’s claim of electoral fraud.

The incumbent’s campaign had yesterday declared that he will demand recount of votes in Wisconsin, and will “immediately do so”.

Trump raised alarm at different points yesterday, alleging electoral fraud and threatened lawsuits.



But the observers are insisting that the election was hard-fought and competitive with a high degree of engagement by election workers and citizens.

Zamfara state have again experience a fresh attack and no fewer than ten people have been kidnapped in Dan Kurma community of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State by some unknown bandits who also killed one person in the operation.

According to DailyPost correspondent, it was gathered that one of the kidnapped victims includes the wife of the village district head, Hajiya Baraka Sani Usman.



An eyewitness, Mallam Nasiru Habibu, told DAILY POST that the armed bandits stormed the village in the wee hours of Thursday and started to unleash the terror attack.





Habibu explained that the armed bandits stormed the village with numerous AK47 riffles, scaring people with their arms by shooting sporadically as the villagers scampered for safety.



When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu confirmed the incident, saying that over ten people including the wife of the village district head were kidnapped in the operation.



Shehu, however, said that armed policemen including armed military personnel have been deployed to the axis to fish out the culprits and protect the village against further occurrence of the dastard banditry attack.

The Police Service Commission have now reacted by faulting the refusal of some policemen to return to work following the killing of about 22 cops during the violence that erupted in the wake of the #EndSARS crisis.





The PSC who encouraged the policemen with low morale to put the killing of their colleagues behind them, stated that the Public Service Rules which also applies to members of the Nigeria Police Force, prescribes dismissal for any officer that deserts his job.



The commission averred that the attack on policemen by hoodlums should not be an excuse for them to stay away from work. It however stressed that policemen did not deserve to be killed and should in fact be protected as they are also humans.

Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria, on Thursday called the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, to convey best wishes to him on the occasion of his 77th birthday.

Nigerian’s former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has emerged as the new Director General of the World Trade Organization. She is the first female and first African Director-General of the WTO.



In a keenly contested election, Okonjo-Iweala beat her closest rival, South Korean Yoo Myung hee, with a wide margin. She polled 104 votes from 164 member countries to defeat Myung Hee at the final stage of the race.

An Upper Area Court, Kubwa, Abuja has ordered the son of Nigerian former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to hand over custody of his three sons to his divorced wife, Maryam Sherif.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in an interview with Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily this morning made some shocking revelation According to Gov Bello, all the state governors have since received the N1billion from the Federal Government.

A 26-year-old married NYSC member and her husband have been accused of maltreating their maid.



The lady identified as, Agatha Egodi Philip-Iboko, a mother-of-one, was arrested alongside her husband Philip Iboko for allegedly torturing their eight-year-old househelp, Osinakachukwu.





Only days earlier, a photo of the househelp lying in the open, under the sun, her legs and hands chained together, went viral after a neighbour of the couple posted the photo online.




The neighbour explained that the young househelp was subjected to child abuse because she ate part of the N10 sweet they bought for their two-year-old daughter.



The viral photo angered Nigerians and they called for the arrest of the child’s guardians.





Prior to this incident, Agatha, who is serving with the ministry of Agriculture, Ebonyi State, had put up photos of her househelp and praised her for her “undying goodwill towards others” and for being a great caretaker for her daughter Doris.

Hoodlums have broken into the orientation camp of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, located at Kubwa, Abuja.

Residents in the neighborhood also took advantage of the unrest to participate in the looting which happened around 9AM on Tuesday.

The assailants blocked the road and ordered motorists to turn back.

Sadiya Umar-Faruk, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, says she has forgiven those who accused her of hoarding COVID-19 palliatives.



Recall that in the peak of the COVID19 pandemic and the lockdown enforced, the Federal government disbursed funds for the provision of palliatives such as food items to the poor and vulnerable. Umar-Faruk was accused of hoarding the palliatives. She was also accused of disbursing expired products which some states returned to her ministry.

The International Criminal Court has finally responded to the alleged shooting of #EndSars protesters by soldiers on Tuesday.

Rev. Travis Clark, a Roma Catholic Priest, has been arrested for desecrating the altar of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Pearl River, Louisiana.





The priest was caught and arrested for allegedly filming himself having sex with two dominatrices on the altar at his Catholic church. The dominatrices were identified as adult film actress Mindy Dixon, 41, and 23-year-old Melissa Cheng.




They were nabbed after a passerby saw the lights on later than usual on September 30. The unidentified witness saw the half-naked priest having sex with the two women who were dressed in corsets and high-heeled boots. The altar was also adorned with stage lighting, several intimacy gadgets, and a cellphone mounted on a tripod that was recording the act.



The witness took video footage of the unholy trinity and then called police. Cops arrested Rev. Clark along with his two altar servers Mindy Dixon and Melissa Cheng, and booked them on obscenity charges.



New site, Nola, reported that Dixon had also posted about the sex act on social media the day before it occurred. The site reported that Dixon said she was traveling to the New Orleans area to ‘defile a house of God’ with another dominatrix.





After the incident, Gregory Aymond, the archbishop of the New Orleans archdiocese visited the church to perform a ritual to restore the sanctity of the altar which is the most sacred of church spaces. Aymond has also announced that Rev Carol Shirima would replace Clark beginning on October 11.



Clark was released from jail on a $25,000 bond. Cheng and Dixon posted bonds of $7,500. All three could face six months to three years in prison if convicted of obscenity.

Following the arrest of Clark who was ordained in 2013, he has been suspended from the archdiocese. Church law says that when sacred places are violated they must be ‘repaired by penitential rite’ before they can be used again.

The National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, Olusegun Bamgbose, has revealed that Boko Haram and some influential and unpatriotic Nigerians, want Governor Babagana Zulum dead.

Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, has blasted the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, insisting he is “not a fan” .



The former actress, Meghan and husband Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals at the start of this year in a dramatic decision that rocked Buckingham palace.




They have since relocated to Los Angeles where they hope to earn a living from Hollywood.



Meghan and Prince Harry have recently been encouraging Americans to vote, seemingly in support of Trump’s rival Joe Biden.

Many believe his comments were targeted towards Trump, who has often come under fire for his comments about minority ethnic groups.

The body of late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako who was killed by Boko Haram members after they were ambush in Damboa on Sunday, September 20, has been laid to rest.

Colonel DC Bako and some soldiers were traveling when their vehicle was ambushed near Damboa, about 85 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital. He died at the military hospital in Borno state. Until his death, he was the commander of 25 Task Force Brigade in Damboa. Bako was laid to rest in Borno state today September 22.

Speaking at late Bako’s funeral, the state governor, Babagana Zulum, paid glowing tribute to the military officer and announced a house and cash donation to the family of the deceased.






“Indeed it is a very sad moment, this is not a loss to the family of Late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako alone, not to the Nigerian Military, it is a loss to Borno and indeed Nigeria.”

Col. Bako was a gallant and dodged military officer, under whose watch Damboa was never defeated. He humble and committed in discharging his duties, he is part of the success recorded in degrading boko haram insurgency in Borno State.”



He has been one of the greatest in trying to stabilize not only Borno but even the neighbouring Yobe State. We will remember his contributions forever, may almighty Allah reward him, and forgive him.”

General Tukur Yusuf Buratai has offered a scholarship to his children, we will also support the family to compliment the efforts of the military.”
