Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), executive director of projects, Cairo Ojougboh, made a shocking revelation about what will happen in Nigeria if the commission decides to release the names of contract beneficiary.

According to, Cairo, Nigeria will break if the commission releases the list of highly placed Nigerians who have benefitted from contracts awarded by the commission.

Federal Government of Nigeria has disclose it would retain the original sharing formula for its Special Public Works, SPW, scheme.

The Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this while dismissing claims of approving a 40 percent rise in the allocation of jobs to political officeholders.

The SPW is a federal government scheme aimed at employing 774, 000 unskilled Nigerians who would receive N20, 000 monthly.

By design, state governors, National Assembly members, Ministers and other interest groups would get 15 percent of the job slot.

However, Keyamo said the interest of the public would be uppermost in the allocation of the jobs.

Douye Diri, Bayelsa Governor, has reacted to the State Election Petition Tribunal ruling on Monday.

Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed the citizenry.

Taraba state police command have arrested a 65-year-old man, Ahmadu Garba, and two others for allegedly repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl.



DSP David Misal, who is the spokesperson of the state police command, disclosed this to newsmen, and also gave the names of the two other suspects as Abubakar Bala, 37, and Suleiman Ahmadu.

Misal said Garba was reported to have kidnapped the victim and kept her in his custody for three months while raping her repeatedly. The spokesperson added that Garba also used the victim for commercial sex work apart from offering her to his two accomplices.

Big Brother Naija 2020 housemates, Dorathy has revealed the reason behind her she voting for Lilo’s eviction.

Nigerian Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Monday reacted to the inclusion of his name by Niger Delta Development Commission as a contract beneficiary.

Kalu in his defense said NDDC has not paid the contractors who constructed the roads he facilitated.

The embattled senator was reacting to The PUNCH report from a document, which the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, attached to the letter he submitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on July 23.

Recall that NDDC few days ago released a list of those that were awarded contracts by the commission, some names of past governors and security chiefs were contained in the list. Read here

Akpabio, in the document, which was published in The Punch on Monday, August 3, had linked ex-governors Emmanuel Uduaghan, James Ibori, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and others to the several contracts allotted by the NDDC.

However, Kalu in a statement signed by Barrister Emeka Nwala of office of the Senate Chief Whip and made available to our correspondent on Monday, said he believed that the issues at stake in the NDDC had to do with missing funds and not works done.

He added that he was becoming worried over his name being used indiscriminately to sell newspapers without verifications.

The Chief Whip said the road projects mentioned by the Honourable Minister are the interventions he facilitated for the communities as a private citizen before he became a Senator.

Some detectives from Nigeria Police Force have arrested seven armed robbers including two soldiers – one serving, one dismissed, for alleged robbery of a bullion van in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The incident caused the death of four police officers, leaving others injured.

The bullion van was coming from Enugu State when it was attacked on July 29, 2020.

The suspects were nabbed in Asaba, the Delta State capital.





On Monday, the Police Situation Report (SITREP) seen by PRNigeria, said, “IRT Detectives with technical Intelligence Support from TIU arrested one Alfred Robinson, 45, a native of Gelegele Town in Ovia North LGA of Edo State on 1/8/2020 in Asaba, Delta State.”

It added that: “During intensive follow up, six more gang members were arrested by IRT detectives within 24 hours.”

The SITREP listed them as Sgt Ayeni Samuel, a Nigerian soldier serving in Ikeja, Lagos; Cpl Emeka Harrison, a dismissed Soldier who had served in Borno State; Emeka Illo, sponsor of the operation; Abuchi Elijah, aka ‘Chime D Mosquito’, the informant for the robbers; and Ibanifiroi Ekiene, a native of Tombia community.




A number of firearms were recovered from the criminals.

These are 12 improvised explosives that did not detonate: One GPMG, six rifles, 51 AK-47 magazines, 1,620 ammunition, 2 robbed vehicles, breaking implements and charms.

The Police said all suspects, upon interrogation, confessed to the bullion van robbery.

They confessed that 4 out of the rifles recovered belong to the policemen killed during the operation.

The suspects are assisting police to arrest the remaining gang members.

Kwara state man allegedly rejected his daughter because of the colour of her eyes. The little girl was born with blue eyes.



A Facebook user , Alabi Rukayat Oyindamola who shared the girl’s story ] explained that she met the girl’s family when she travelled to Ilorin for the Eid break. She further claimed that the father rejected the girl and her late sister because of their blue eyes.
