Controversial Islamic Clergy Sheikh (Dr.) Ahmad Gumi has established a school for herdsmen inside a Kaduna forest, insisting that the provision of infrastructures to herdsmen in their remote locations could help in curbing their violent ideologies.

No fewer than 15 people have been killed by bandits during attacks on communities in Goronyo and Illela local government areas of Sokoto State.

The state Governor Aminu Tambuwal confirmed the attack on Monday, November 15, shortly before he presented the state’s 2022 draft budget to members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly.

Tambuwal said that the locals were killed during the attacks which occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning.

He said 12 people were killed in Munwadata town and Kamalo in Illela and three others lost their lives in Goronyo.

A mentally changed man was mercilessly beaten by angry mob for allegedly stabbing a young man in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.



The incident reportedly happened at Choba Junction axis of the East/West Road on Wednesday morning, July 7.



It was gathered that the victim said to be in his early 20s, was awaiting a shuttle to ferry him to Rumuokoro when the incident happened.

The 21-year-old Mass Communication student of Unilag, Chidinma Ojukwu, who last week confessed to stabbing the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, to death, has pleaded for forgiveness while adding that she doesn’t want to die.




Chidinma and the late TV boss met about four months ago at a wild party and became lovers. Ataga, who resides in Banana Island, was reported missing on Sunday, June 13, by his family and friends after he didn’t return to his home in Banana Island and he also didn’t turn up at his Victoria Island office. All efforts to reach Ataga, who would have turned 50 years old on June 18, proved abortive and this caused distress to his wife and children, who live in Abuja. The family of late murdered Super TV CEO, Michael Usifo Ataga, has issued a statement calling for an in-depth investigation of his murder and urged the police to go beyond the arrest of Chidinma Ojukwuthe the prime suspect as there was more to the murder.
