That’s simply unrealistic—even cities like Lagos or New York can’t claim to have the capacity to provide jobs for everyone. How many jobs has he actually created since taking office? What's the current size of the civil service in Abia? So far, only Mbah in Enugu has shown truly impressive results.

Beyond enforcement, another major challenge is that the alternative is relatively expensive. A circular economy isn't as profitable as it's often portrayed—at least not without an efficient waste management culture. Hopefully, we'll get a handle on it soon. God bless Lagos.

Your candidate is president and yet you can provide a single data to prove he is better than my candidate, that is like someone taking first without any records, that's why Nigeria is the way it is now...
If you're referring to his presidential record, that hardly needs much research—May 29 was just a few days ago. That said, this thread isn’t about him. I suggest you take up my challenge: let’s compare both leaders strictly based on their performance as sub-national heads—I believe that’s a fair and objective basis for comparison.

You're welcome to start a separate thread for that, but let’s agree to use only credible, research-based sources—not speculative sites with questionable methodologies.

By the way, the core point here is that leadership should be assessed using objective criteria—not subjective or bias-prone traits like humility, shrewdness, or a saintly image.

Then if you don't have any proof to show to back up your claim that Tinubu performed better than Peter Obi as governor then your case is a dead one, how do you want to convince anybody ?

I brought my own proof you said it is false then how do you want anybody to believe you when you haven't even presented anything, even in a court you've lost already...
I don't need to present anything to convince anyone—my candidate is already the president. If voters are dissatisfied, they have the right to vote him out in the next election. You're the one whose candidate lost, yet you're quoting a largely unknown source as the basis for your so-called "objective facts." I've even done you the courtesy of sharing a link where you can find credible data. But I suppose you're unsure whether you'll find anything there that supports your argument—otherwise, you would have already made use of it.

At least they did their research and came up with that, why not do your own research and come up with your own data to prove that Tinubu did better, I have provided mine, provide your own, I want to see it....
The research, based on the method used, is essentially unreliable. If you cannot provide macro data from a reputable and well-known source, then your claim of good leadership is simply a biased opinion and therefore subjective. I’m not obligated to provide data myself, but I assure you that if you present data from a credible source, I will do the same.

Brendaniel:
ok, these are the economic performances of Tinubu and Peter Obi, so why are you supporting Tinubu over Peter Obi?
I came across several of these images during the election period. The unfortunate truth is that this is not a reliable source of data. No credible research organization, development agency, or government body would base decisions on it—not even Anambra State under any of its governors would go near this dataset.

You can review their methodology here: https://globaldatalab.org/methods/

Reliable data sources include the World Bank, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the United Nations, among others. If you have any data from these trusted institutions that support the claims made by GDL, feel free to present it.

You can check here too: https://nigeria.opendataforafrica.org/ There's a huge datasets on all Nigerian states.

So, for this supposedly farming operation, buyers also bore Ellah's expenses for:

- Raw materials and other inputs (seed, feed, fresh fruit bunches for mill, fertilizer, pest control, crop insurance, etc.)

- Overhead costs attributable to sales (e.g., facility costs, electricity, equipment depreciation)

Sales straight out of thin air... And we thought Oando's financial engineering was next level.

Thr governors are trying to repay the state's loans by rushing it up since there has been a significant rise in FAAC. This is why a lot of Governors support the FG, the amount of funds available for them has greatly increased.

The problem with this is that these funds should have been used for development projects (which still paying back in small quantities) that will attract investors to generate more funds not rush off to repay billions at once.
Honestly, most of these governors should reconsider their financial advisers. Why rush to pay down loans just because income has increased, instead of using that additional income to boost capacity and generate even more future revenue to service the loans long-term? This approach reminds me of the OBJ Paris Club debt forgiveness — I don’t see the logic in it. Rather than hastily repaying loans, governors should engage their creditors to restructure the debts and commit the new income to capital investments that ensure loan servicing while simultaneously delivering value and improving the people’s living standards. It’s a win-win!

Brendaniel:
You have not tested him at the macro level, but let's even leave that for now, so you don't consider good character when picking a leader?

You only focus on his macro economic skills?
Good character is subjective, but sub-national macro indicators like state GDP, unemployment, inflation, poverty, income per capita, public finances, FDI, and population vs. GDP growth provide objective measures. People may debate character, but not inflation or GDP.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi, Nenadi Usman, YunusaTanko Visit Flood-hit Niger (Video) by lionshare: 5:09pm On Jun 03, 2025
Brendaniel:
Since you agree that the character of a good leader is subjective, why then generalize that they are all the same?
Why are you focusing on the subjective aspects we can’t agree on when there is an objective side to consider? Or does this imply that your so-called good leader lacks strong macro skills?
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi, Nenadi Usman, YunusaTanko Visit Flood-hit Niger (Video) by lionshare: 11:23am On Jun 03, 2025
Brendaniel:
So are you saying there is no good leader in the whole world?

Since you love generalizing...
Aside from economic macros, every other characteristic of a good leader is subjective. A good leader, therefore, is the one with the better macros—and that doesn’t mean the leader is not a liar.

All politicians are not the same not even in America, that is like saying all women are the same, a very big lie, so if you have supported nonsense politicians in the past that have disappointed you like Tinubu and Buhari, don't use such a statement to console yourself like a man who keeps picking wrong girls to marry consoling himself that all women are the same...

If you hate Peter Obi, just simply say it with your full chest instead of consoling yourself
How about all politicians lie and pander to the interest groups within available voting blocks?

BusinessRe: Exchange Rate Plunges As Naira Closes May At N1,630/$1 In Parallel Market by lionshare: 4:50pm On Jun 01, 2025
Are you referring to a ₦10 decline as a plunge? In a managed float system, the currency isn’t expected to remain static like in a fixed exchange rate regime—moderate fluctuations are normal. If you’re calculating the ₦10 drop as a percentage of the average of the start and end rates (₦1625), then it’s less than 1%.

That defeats the real.aim of growing an economy. You and I know ow that this government is looking for ways to financie its budget, not really about driving the economy. So it still means that we will spend money on debt obligations a large chunk of revenue at that.

I like your optimism- but being alive for as long as I have it isn’t in our DNA. I might be wrong but unless you have a government that continues on this trend for a good 20 years - they aren’t creating good affordable jobs . Companies are leaving , ones that have been here for 100’s of years. So I am not sure where the job creating will come from .
I appreciate your cautious optimism many don’t understand the importance of political stability to economic prosperity—hopefully the president will ensure that sustainability.
