2buff: To all #TeamNoDegreeIsWorthless,
You have to understand that there is an extra dimension to these things. You may like something, but is it worth spending that much money and 4 years of your life to get a degree out of it if it has no prospects of putting food on your table....ESPECIALLY as you don't come from wealth and have to earn your living like anyone else?
If you like dancing...do your own research on it. Join dance classes to develop your style(The people who teach the dance classes don't need degrees, they just have to show you they can dance for you to believe them), Join/create a dance crew, etc. It makes no sense throwing that much money at a school for a BA in Dance or what not.
Do you know some of the best actors are those who had other active life plans?
Given my OP on Women's Studies, a person like that would be better off just taking Psychology because then they are versatile enough to be used in the same and much broader fields (e.g Marketing) if you end up not dealing specifically with women.
A lot of these mistakes I would say, are due to schools. Schools don't give a shiiit. They just want your money and they will sell you whatever false hope you need to hear to take that money from you.
A lot of their "success stories" are mostly people who got there by reason of their contacts and God's grace, not in particular the weird degree the school is trying to sell to you. It is left to you being sharp and doing your own research of the world and it's needs. Which is why I generally suggest folks take some time to travel if they can before starting uni, at least those that can. guy u just penned it down well. I wonder why stdnts go dey read sociology, religion, igbo language, sociology. Nonsense |

miknero: Dear Poster, First let me start by congratulating you for making fb on this special new year day. Am happy this topic is coming timely and since its my field of study I would help in clearing the air. Simply the bank can't be sue for no reason. The relationship between the bank and any depositor is called bank-coustomer relationship and it only subsits when you open and accout with the bank n deposit money which has not been established here. The money though within the presmises of the bank is not yet in coustody of the bank.Abnitio,(in law it can be seen as negligence on the side of the owner or an act of God. In conclusion the customer can't have any case or damage against the bank. can't believe ths. Did you pass your law of tort exam? Are you reading law in ebsu or esuth ? |

purplish: As a follow up to what a majority of legal opinions here have posited, since you are still in posession of your cash and have not made your intentions known to deposit such cash, you ordinarily do not have a case.
However, I think that you can make a strong case where your counsel can prove that the bank was negligent or lax in areas of securing its premises and customers. I do not have any legal authority to back this up, but it would be a good thing for our courts to address such nouveau situations to fit into today's Nigerian society. Law was made for man, and not man for the law. read the authorities we cited above. Use it to back ur argument up. It has been decided by our court in salami v savannah bnk. |

Legit: Obviously you're a layman who doesn't understand the law. Law is not about emotion, its strickly fact only. Read a precedent case of Ranson v. kintner. IF I ARGUE THE CASE, I WILL WIN HANDS DOWN, IT WILL NEVER GO TO TRIAL, AS THE BANK ATTORNEY WILL SETTLE, THEY WILL SEE THE WRITING ON THE WALL. Assume the bank fail their duty to their customer. thanks bro. It is our duty to advice lay men on points of law. Just doing part of our ministerial duties. The duty we owe the larger society. |

Legit: I studied Law in the US. I am really not verse in Nigerian Law, but since Nigerian Law is based on Common Law, it is similar to the US. There's is a different between a Licensee and invitee. Since you're in the bank premises to conduct business you're a License, therefore the bank owe you a duty and foreseeable care. The statement that we are not responsibile in case of parking lot, is just to limit the liability, will not hold in court, as you've establish a bailment situation, where you entrust your car to other. So yes, the bank will be responsible. However; you must proof your lost and possession at the time of incident. This is not a legal advise, as I don't have the detail info. thankgod that a person with a superior legal mind has vindicted my position. Ths is the position of the law as regards d issue. Im sure that my legal career is in good hands. We may waived a lay man's opinion as regards issue when they are mistaken. Bt when a lawyer and students of law err on simple principle of law then the future of d legal professn would be brought under disrespute. D ans is simple. The bank owes d customer a foreseeable duty of care to make sure that its premises is safe for banking business. To my fellow law students at unec, i have one thing for una- we dey read law. Thanks to barr. Ukwueze, barr. Asogwa. U guys are the best. Thanks |

A question of fact like ths is dependent on the circumstances of the case. A bank may escape liability if the customer's lost was occasioned by his negligence. If it happened that the customer's lost was due to the bank's negligence, the bank would be held liable for the simple fact that they owe the said customer a duty of care to protect his money withn it's premises. Ths is the general rule. Other exceptions may work to negate the bank's liability. Ancilliary to ths is that ths question is a matter of evidence. It can go either way. Thanks |

nupera: The bank can not be held liable for what they have not taken procession of. The twist is that there is what is called occupiers liability. If i fell and broke my arm within the bank premises due to a wet floor i can sue and get compensated if the bank did not make diligent effort to inform me of the possible hazard....just like they warned that my vehicle is parked at my risk within their compound. I'm not a lawyer any learned fellow can help us further. it depends on the facts of d case. The principle of law that governs ths kind of issue is exclusion of liability. If the notice was boldly written and placed where anybody could see it, the bnk will escape liability. If the exact opposite is the case, the bnk would be liable if the plaintiff could establish an act of bailment. |

• Eating too much- Whenever you Ladies are in our Presence please try to control your eating habits. Not that we're too broke to buy you Food but eating without Class just because your indoors is disgusting to say the least!
• Washing of your undies (panties)- Please try to reduce the amount of times you wash your undies in our presence. Forget that popular slang which tends to say that when a man loves you, he can even wash your undies, we're not that cool with seeing someone else's undies!
• Talking too dirty -Please, have control of things you say in our presence. Don’t be too naughty when it comes to your language except you want to remain a GIRLFRIEND FOR LIFE!!!!!
• Laughing excessively- Control the length you laugh in front of us. When we're not around, you can laugh and bring down the roof if you wish. I was talking to a lady and she laughed so loud that she didn't know when she polluted.
• Always watching movies- If your a Nollywood addict please, for the sake of not receiving any RED CARD, stop giving all your time to once your man is around. We need total concentration when we are talking to you
• Fighting - Never you fight in front of your man, he may feel that one day you will fight his mother. • OverSabi attitude - Its very annoying when you always act like you know everything. from a legal point of view, the decision of the supreme court is correct. An offense, as defined by s.2 of d criminal code, is an act or omission making the person doing the act or omission liable for punishment. It then goes that an act or omission that is nt criminalised under any law is not a crime. In all the criminal legislations applying in nig, there no offense that is known as contract splitting. So Bode George cnt be convicted of an offense that is not criminalised by any law. The EFFC should be made to answer the question why they left all the charges that could be supported by the evidence gathered and chose to arraign him on an offense that is unknown to law. |

Our ancestors believed that when one died, he or she joined his ancestors in merriment- no matter what.
Why dont we do away with all these things that we cant prove? Has anyone got a location or picture of heaven? Why are we so gullible? Why do we want to abuse children with nightmares of a fiery oven?
Why? you are on point bro. The worse of ds fairly tales is that some gullible and naive nigerians believe that a man(Adam) that appeared in jewish myth 6000 years ago is their fore-father while our ancestors have been living in africa for thousands of years. |

the law is that self defence may negate a criminal liability if only the degree of force one used to defend himself ws equal to the force used by the assailant. This z in conformity with the relevant sections of both the criminal and penal code. It trite that religion dosnt play a role in the decion of a court of law.so a court wil nt use the bible or the koran to decid issues b4 it.so it z rht to kil n defence of life or property.
