MASTAkiLLAh: Bulaba bastards will abuse Obaseki thinking he's like their regular Oshodi motorpark economists running things in Abuja but the truth has nowhere to hide, eventually it must come out. If una like, no use una brains I doubt you understood what obaseki was saying at all.......tinubu pushed for LG autonomy, you all were criticising him and say all sorts on why it wouldn't work ......tinubu is also pushing for state police, you inredeemable inept cynics are still all yapping about how it wouldn't work and how tinubu doesn't know what he is doing. Now tell me,all this obaseki mentioned do you think it can happen overnight, that's even if you have a deep understanding of what he was trying to say......let me help you out, what he is saying is we need to devolve power from Abuja to the constituent states and LGA's which is the major plank for the restructuring we need to set this country for development......the problem with nigeria is structural and not about tinubu or obi or atiku. This has been the same ideology tinubu had before he became president and now seeking ways on how it can be implemented......do you now see that those of us supporting tinubu have been vindicated by no other person than obaseki from the opposition. |

Elxandre: 2000/litre is nothing to an average American or European cos they earn maybe $10/hr. Most people don't even earn that in two days in Nigeria.
Those who need it like the bikemen transporting poor people right? No wahala. Yes transporters are in business to make profit and the poor can always make use of them for their own businesses or essential needs. Look at the economics of subsidy........an 18 seater bus would require about 25k to fuel from Lagos to oshogbo,a journey of about 209 km. This would be shared by 18 persons while the reach would require same amount of fuel for fewer persons possible 2 or 3. Now let's assume govt is paying 50% subsidy and you get to buy fuel @ N500 per liter that would be 12,500 for 18 passengers as against 12,500 for 2 or 3 passengers for the rich, mow tell me who benefits more from the supposed subsidy. |

psalmson001: You and your mechanic are basking innignorance, but let me educate you a bit.
For the year in question (2012), there is nothing like a corolla using venza engine. The 1st gen venza only had two engine trims which are the 2.7ltr i4 and the 3.5ltr v6, and no corolla to the best of my knowledge uses that 2.7ltr i4 engine. Only the hilux, highlander, sienna, hiace, some prados have this 2.7ltr engine (which are also different).
The 2nd gen venza comes with a 2.0ltr i4 engine, however that engine became available from 2018.
So stop arguing that your 2012 corolla has a venza engine.
Do your research well else your kazeem go run you down.
Lastly, how you go dey buy 8k fuel to test mpg? Fill up your tank and compare how long it last with your previous vehicle. And hope say you no be one of those people wey believe say ac dey chop fuel sha? Don't mind the op,he doesn't know what he is saying, however the only sienna that uses the 2.7ltr engine is the 2000 model sienna with 1MZ engine and the venza wasn't even around then.....it's the 2003 model upwards that comes with 3MZ and 2GR variants, the 2GR is same with the venza 3.5ltr V6 and it's standard.....no sienna after 2003 had 2.7 ltr engine. |

chido20: Corolla with venza engine. You’re telling me that a venza engine rides on 2.0 litre engine? I am also laughing hard here.....what does he even mean by Toyota with venza engine? And depending where he is 8k is about 8 liters in Lagos and even for a V6 engine he should still be able to get about 7 km AVG per ltr,hwy and cty combined. When he is done unlearning that rubbish thought that his corolla has a venza engine,he should check the oxygen sensors on that car. |

Elxandre: It's $4.5/ gallon not per litre. That's roughly $1plus per litre. Is it still cheap or not? That's still over 2000 naira a liter...they could have as well made it 50 cents a liter since they got oil too..... affordability is relative and in the Nigerian context, pms is available for those who really needs it. |
Politics › Re: Tax; OPEC Reveals Reasons Why dangote Petrol Is Costly In Nigeria by Lithiumite: 12:37am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Brendaniel: From your comment you sound like someone who has low economic understanding, like what do people open breweries for? there are breweries all over the world, it is a muti billion dollar industry....
You open a brewery to make money and not for people to get drunk, that is a state investment with returns for the state, why do we have Guinness, Gulder, Heineken and so on?
The way you guys talk all because of politics and tribalism, so a brewery investment is not a good one for a state and yet foreign investors come into Nigeria to invest in the same thing...
Look at the way you people reason now.... Petrol business is what? If I am to borrow your logic.....a charity?why didn't obi make the beer from the brewery so cheap that anyone could afford it. You can easily blame tinubu for redirecting scarce resources from wasteful ventures like fuel subsidy and defending the naira but is ready to praise an obi who his present state gov as lampooned several times for not making the best choices as regards Anambra states finances, even his immediate predecessor attested same. I put it to you that the only reason you are quick to insult tinubu is because he is Yoruba and he defeated your candidates twice,GEJ and obi......when obi won all the votes in the SE with nothing for the others,it's not tribalism but when a Yoruba man supports tinubu, you shout tribalism.....obi even won in Lagos and atiku in osun but to you yorubas are tribalist. Stop the hate then others too might begin to see the good in your candidate. |

Elxandre: Petrol is cheap in the USA. Why do you guys do this? Is affordability not directly proportional to income?
Americans an sort their monthly fuel bills from less than a days work while minimum wage can't fill some cars in Nigeria. $4.5 per liter and you call that affordable....a thousand naira is way less than 70 cents.....have people stopped driving or buying cars on Nigerian roads.. gas stations are still being opened daily. High prices will lead to energy efficiency, dangote is getting his crude at a price and must be allowed to sell at a profit.....we need to unlearn our thought processes that believes we cannot survive without subsidy. |
Politics › Re: Tax; OPEC Reveals Reasons Why dangote Petrol Is Costly In Nigeria by Lithiumite: 9:33pm On Sep 19, 2024 |
Brendaniel: So what should Tinubu do like this? Stop subsidy, try to reduce our debt to gdp ratio so that the naira can be strengthened.......focus on food security by making food more Available. Invest in mass housing Make power supply more efficient Make social services like health care and education cheap and affordable so households can have more disposable income they hitherto would have spent on these. |

Person who said he supported Buhari for 8 years so that he can become president...
You people are funny, Tinubu is doing what he came to do, I'm surprised you people are surprised...
My question is what were you people thinking? It's obi that wants to come and be president because he loves you , right? That's why he opened a brewery for Anambra people to be getting free beer.....you will make a great comic act. |

nairalanda1: Okay, let him reduce fuel price to N65 and pay subsidy of 920 per liter....till all our budget goes on subsidy, and we are using loans for everything else...till IMF decides that they should stop pampering us, and removes the loan cover...
Then the real shege starts. Don't mind those children.....they have no basic understanding of how an economy runs but always quick to blame tinubu for halting the decline in the economy......govt should go and keep borrowing money to pay subsidy because you want to drive your car which you aren't even paying any tax on for frivolous activities such as going to church and parties and visiting your relatives and friends. |

Melagros: COMRADES, Nigerians thought that they will heave a sight of relief when Dangote's refinery comes on board, not knowing that we are still in for it, as long as there's a bad government at the moment, Nigerians should not expect anything positive
If I may ask, who did we offend that we can't get things right in this country? Right how......so dangote should give you the petrol for free or what..... The US and Saudi Arabia has far more oil than Nigeria but petrol isn't cheap in those countries. You are even lucky dangote is selling below 1,300 go check the international price for crude then you know the price is fair. |

Hope he doesnt blame excess rain for poor harvest also. There was excess rain under Buhari and GEJ yet they didnt leave the agric ministry to autopilot ministers. There was locust attack from wast africa under buhari, most of us didnt know of it because someone did his job. Tinubu only responded to insecurity in Zamfara and Kaduna after planting season elasped. I wonder what the game plan is. If tinubu were to continue on the trajectory GEJ and Buhari were going Nigeria by now would have ran aground. What was oil production during Buhari and what is it now? How much was being expended on fuel subsidy then and now? How much was being expended defending the USD then and now? This challenges you are facing now are things we should have done since obj and by now we would have overcome and things would have been better but we kept postponing doomsday and the govt didn't have the political will to make the hard decisions to the detriment of us all. |
