Truth be told more needs to be done on our wages. You don't live in Nigeria. I spend over 100k on feeding every month. Then we can discuss bills, clothing, transportation, school fees. It's crazy... People end up begging to fill the gap. I know it didn't start from this present administration but we need to do more about our minimum wage it's crazy. It's always been crazy. Our minimum wage have never been enough to take care of a family person. Only OK for fresh out of secondary school boys and girls.

The wage isn't the problem but what is the output of the entire Nigerian economy our gdp is about $252b with a population of about 220m the brings our per capita to just about $1,250,thats the output of every citizen in a year......now juxtapose that with Qatar with a lesser gdp of $213b with a population of just 3.3m would give you a per capita of $71k.....hence the higher wages you have over there.

If govt doubles the minimum wage in Nigeria now without commensurate level of production expect inflation to go up too.....expect a 59kg bag of rice to go up from 53k to about 80k,house rent to increase etc......

150k is only about $100 which is still low and if govt enforces that inflation will also rise with it as someone who could only afford a 1/4 bag if rice with the current salary will then be able to buy a whole bag,thats increased demand which will lead to higher prices then you will then start crying that govt should increase wages again to $300 then the cycle continues .....you need to balance up production with money supply......if we were producing enough living expenses will be sustainable.

Same numbeo shows that when you compare Nigerian cities of Abuja and Lagos with Accra Ghana,rent is the only item in the line where Nigeria is more expensive, every other essential like food, groceries,education, transportation,health care are all cheaper in Nigeria than in Accra Ghana.......if prices were to be cheaper in Nigeria why then would you rate Nigeria so low even when average monthly net salaries are even higher in Nigeria than in Ghana according to your numbeo.......we know where this is coming from and we can see through your propaganda......it's as clear as day and if you are widely travelled,Nigerians have far more money at hand than their West African neighbors.....take that to the bank.
