franchasng: Very very inspiring.
Nigerians should give Peter Obi a chance to become our own Lee Kuan Yew for our collective good
Tinubu have tried his best, he has done his bit, but unfortunately his best is not good enough to get Nigeria out of the woods it was pushed into since 2016
We need to try something new and compare till we get things right, Nigeria need to enter the right path to future prosperity before things get completely out of hand Not obi not tinubu not atiku!! |

tommy589: A very interesting story. Is it achievable in our own brand of democracy even if we have a visionary leader at the helm for 31 years They didn't mention the dark side to Singapore's progress.....it was a martial state that period and dissenting voices were not tolerated.....but her you can abuse tinubu to high heavens and nothing would happen to you. |

Dogalmighty17: A country younger than Nigeria. Look at what visionary leadership can do. Who cursed the black man? Who? A country of barely 2m with one language and one culture is what you want to compare to that of over 200m with over 400 different ethnicities and even more diverse languages.....try and manage a common cda in your area first and let's see how you will fare.....there is no one the Yorubas would bring, the Igbos would never support and vice versa and there is no one northerners would bring that will get the full support of the south,we the people are our own problem. |

"3.2 Basis of the Federation: "(1) Every Ethnic Nationality and People in Nigeria has an unconditional right to self-determination within here delineated territories. The Yorubas saw this problem far ahead of anyone else that was why awo insisted it be put in our first constitution but the hausas supported by the Igbos resisted it.....now who is crying? |

Racoon: The is a man the famed builder of Lagos is being compared to? For goodness sake, they are miles apart.God help Africa with it useless autocratic and tyrannical despots foisting themselves on a failed continent.
The world have long left us behind as if the colonial masters or imperialists should have continued the conquest or slavery. Most African nation never deserved independence You not supporting your president primarily because of political differences and Also the fact he isn't from your tribe makes the development of Nigeria an almost impossible task same way it had always been since independence.....while yew was busy building Singapore,we were plotting and overthrowing govts and ripping the country apart because one person was Yoruba, you were Igbo and the other was Hausa......we couldn't optimise the strength in our diversity,we couldn't have unity of purpose even fought a gruesome war just cause a plateau man took power from an Igbo man.....Singapore didn't suffer the complexities of 450 different ethnicities and even more diverse languages which has been calamitous from day one they are one people with one language and one culture |

You could hv just note his contact and adress since you knew someone he tends to use the material for did not pay him... The only thing you can't run aware from is conscience look at how you're feeling now cos you hurt your fellow man... locate that man and give him his phone for your peace of mind.... On a final note always have compassion for your fellow man. Why would whoever h went to install for not pay for his service.....there is something wrong with the man's narration.....he is either in breach of contract with his client or he has already been paid but diverted the funds he was meant to use to buy materials..... though by law it is wrong for you to hold on to his phone in lieu of a debt but even police would understand your action.....make Dem Noh run u street. |

I bet you would have had a different opinion if it was a Chukwuma that was implicated in this.
So you now know the law more than EFCC and can teach the agency the law and their job abi?
This country will not go anywhere if you lots continue to defend rubbish and bend the rules once it’s your kinsman that is involved. I am Yoruba but the story doesn't add up and the guy is only seeking public sympathy and trying to tilt public opinion his way..... however, what the op said about efcc lack of due diligence is very correct,......we don't have to bring tribalism into everything. |

drstranged: How? How does naira to dollar affect petrol price? Petrol that is refined in your country from crude oil that's produced in your country? You're probably one of those zombies that follow and support this clueless government sheepishly without reasoning critically. Crude I traded at international prices.....dangote is buying crude same price a refinery in turkey is buying from the Niger delta.....it's what determines how much fuel is sold, the only difference might be logistics cost and tarrifs......it's what govt is willing to pay per liter for it's citizens that's the subsidy and in our case govt isn't paying that anymore......if govt insists the oil coys should sell their crude at discretionary prices to local refineries, they have a right to resist and sell to the highest bidder except you want govt to take over which will end up being very bad business as Nigeria would be loosing so much money from crude. |
Politics › Re: Africa's Cheapest Petrol Prices (₦/Litre) by Lithiumite: 4:50pm On Sep 05, 2025 |
Ijaya123: Libya, Angola and Algeria are still subsidizing petrol unlike us. And it is a lot easier to subsidize petrol in Libya which is a country of less than 8m people.
Meanwhile, Angola is already has started gradual removal of subsidy and see the outcome in the image below.
Is it minimum wage that determines the pump price of petrol in the world?
You can create another thread and help compare the factors you listed up here. Don't mind many of the naysayers, they only take things at face value without critically thinking about the contributing factors.....how many people live in Libya,it mot even up to Lagos alone,Angola is also not as populous as Nigeria an the have a higher GDP per Capita compared to ours. |

omoadeleye: I'm guessing that they don't use enough cars at all in Libya What's the population of Libya.....wat is the total daily fuel consumption of Libya compared to Nigeria still at that Libya GDP per Capita is higher than ours..... the Libyan economy can comfortably allow them subsidise that much but we don't have such luxury here.....we are a poor country per Capita compared to Libya or Angola. |

anonimi: Eb1lokan clearly has no clue about how the economy runs since he has failed to achieve his N300/$1 short term goal despite $84 billion subsidy savings, trade surplus in billions of dollars and even $3.3 billion Afreximbank loan to defend the Naira.
Do you understand economics enough to realise the impact of this failure on hyperinflation and stagflation of the past two years Are you then denying the fact that inflation has slowed and now on a downward swing, are you denying the fact that the foreign reserves has grown exponentially in the last 2 years, are you denying the fact we now have a lower debt servicing to revenue ratio, are you denying the fact we have been have trade surpluses for over 4 quarters consecutively, are you denying the fact your state gov now has more money for developing your state than he ever had before tinubu Keep denying the obvious and keep living the lie you want......logical and smart ones can already see the positives and are working hard to see it sustained. |

CBN has the right stats, not AI.
After Tinubu floated naira. It went down to 750 naira to a dollar..
Without subsidy, it went from 750 naira a dollar to 1,500 naira a dollar under same Tinubu.
Inept is an understatement. Thats because it's now been detached from direct govt interference but subject to fundamental economic factors of demand and supply......willing buyer, willing seller. |

They even had some Binance guys arrested. We are now celebrating "stability" of the dollar at 1500. Lol. Reno knows his audience. He calls them "Lukumi" people. They lap up everything he says.
Only in Nigeria. Yes!! It was reflective of the official rate,we now have a uniform exchange rate which is the proper thing in any economy......Reno would only make sense to logical people who understands how economies run and not deranged ideologues who can never get over a defeat they suffered over 2 years ago in the hands of tinubu. |

KaLuCh: As you no get head. Do you understand that the defence of naira meant better purchasing power for our money? As in, the one thing that had a tangible and direct impact on the lives of Nigerians as a result of the crude oil God blessed us with. If the government spent 700 trillion defending the Naira, it was worth every penny of that. It meant my 100k could afford me a decent living. That is the function of the government.
The perdition that we have as a leader stopped defending the Naira, now tell me a single thing that they have done that has the same or better effect on the masses? They tell us to bear with the hardship but dem wont lift a finger to follow us bear. Them dey increase their own salary.
You don collect your thirtykpa for August, wetin Concern you with truth sef? Na me dey waste time comment here. Is this what obi will do if elected? He will re subsidisr the naira and be frittering away 1.5b usd monthly just so you can keep importing all manner of things to the detriment of your economy...... The trade surpluses we already have should be eroded just because you want cheap champagne and wines also bring back the fuel subsidy so you can keep gallivanting all over the place aimlessly with cheap petrol at the expense of favourable trade balances, bigger foreign reserves, higher productivity, lower debt to revenue ratio, more allocation to sub nationals etc......if that's the way you obidients are still thinking, you don't mean well for Nigeria. |
