Creating state police when the present Federal police is understaffed and under financed. Should first things not get first things first? We have all sorts of people in different uniforms, yet banditry, kidnapping and other forms of crimes continue unabated? Why waste the resources when we all know the issues?

Please pay the police internationally accepted rates, equip them and get more men employed into the force. Get more people into the armed forces, find them properly, encourage them and see the difference.

Th imperialist policing architecture we are running is rather outdated and counter productive to our current realities......due to our heterogenous complexities a single layer policing structure is most inadequate,we need a multi layered policing architecture like you have in the US where the states have there respective police units......how do you expect egbetokun a Yoruba man to know the socio cultural cum economic factors of a place like ugep in criss rivers or damboa in borno and be able to handle it effectively but a police from those locality who was born and lives there is better suited to effectively secure those places..

Except for shariah law that’s different, marriage laws in Nigeria are same in north and south.

It's treated as a criminal matter up north like you stole something from someone which can ened up with a jail sentence but in the south it's treated as a civil matter,I won't go to jail but will be asked to pay damages as in this case,to the husband and the wife would also be asked to pay cost but jail time is most unlikely.

Not in southern Nigeria,it's criminal in the north but it's not in the south,it will be treated as a civil matter and what you get is payment for damages.....so you will actually pay damages for sleeping with someone's wife whether knowingly or unknowingly.

I have never seen Deji Adeyanju as a human right activist that you can trust. He comes off as someone who has mastered the art of using the tag of a "human rights advocate" to more or else bully and blackmail a corrupt ruling class. That's the way I look at him. When you talk of human rights activists, you talk of folks like Gani Fawhenmi and co. Deji is an oppurtuinist.

He sure knows the ills of the society and has managed to put himself in a vantage position from where he can use the media to draw attention to his character at critical political moments, but whether he could "fight" altruistically for the people irrespective of any sort of bribes/financial inducements directed towards his direction, is a different ball game altogether.
